Mullen was so much more natural than anyone else. He had a flow about his sessions that made it look like he was just having fun. Welinder was good but Mullen was a genius.
mullens combos are always very fast and on point and never ending this dude is some what slow and messes up and has less precision i dont see how he beat him even the one time. but he still has some pretty hard freestyle tricks i hadnt seen before.
Wow no wonder everyone knows mullen and not him. He couldve put me to sleep with that boring dance off only one or 2 tricks caught my eye and he slipped up a couple times
I just realized that the "exciting movie with street style skating, a car chase and some jumps and stuff" is Back to the Future! This was the guy that was Michael J. Fox's stunt double for the complex skate scenes.
wow look how far the design of vans shoes has evolved over the years! thats rad, back then i wore vision street wears and airwalks! yes airwalks used to be good skate shoes! lol cool memories
mad respect and all, don't get me wrong... but man, this style is fucking brutal, back in the days when people were trying to make skating a ballet or figure skating er something
No doubt...after not seeing them for years and now watching videos of them, Rodney is clearly better and more technical not to mention lands every trick perfectly. Per misses quite often for someone of his talent level.
wow imagine of all those oldschoolers took it to our new boards like Rodney did....i think we can still learn alot from watching them...and Rodney is best ever haha
if you listen to what he's saying in the beginning he's talking about him being the stunt double for Michael J. Fox aka Marty McFly in Back to the Future. When he is skitching on the back of the car and ollies over the bushes thats all Per. Street and freestyle!
this is a true thing that happens! its not a chain letter! its kinda scary at first but it really works!! paste this message into 3 comments and press ALT F4 and your crushes name will appear on the screen!!! its soo wierd!
@stevenadler It was nothing epic. Mullen dropped a rail, and per didnt miss any tricks in his run. It was that simple. Other than that Mullen has the most successful first place competition record out of anyone in almost any sport worldwide period. There will never be another.
April, 1985 - Del Mar. I rented this video from the skateshop in the '80's and never returned it - still have it. I'm going to post the contest footage of Hawk/Hosoi/others from it soon.
