  • can someone post the whole lyrics of this song in mandarin? thank you. :D

  • I hate racism. But I can understand why people leave such racist comments. We all have different views about ourselves that may have existed for thousands. Some people think one race is better than the other one. It's human nature to make fun of someone or something and not have regrets or feel terrible at the end of the day. So don't judge people just because they left racist comments. Otherwise, you are in a sense,"Feeding the fire."

  • Mulan's voice is beautiful. *3*

  • @AssenavxActress I agree it sound so similiar to the american version, im learning mandarin and the tones are hard to get :/

  • 11 people cant get passed lesson 1

  • wow! I think it really uh when im done commenting

  • And I thought Japanese and Korean was hard!! This sounds so hard to speak! Damn asian parents...forcing me to speak every asian language possible...I should get rosetta stone...I heard that works :3

  • @Firegirl6464Pro i have rosetta stone and it doesnt tell you what some words needed for chinese are like ge for example is needed before some numbers but zhang is before others, so you need a basic understanding or just take a good class, also its overpriced lol just saying its hard to learn with rosetta stone

  • @k17U

  • (@ k1zu) in away your right but in the Chinese language the four tones which change the meaning are actually like singing they use the one that is closest to the actual meaning of the word and some words mean two things.

  • I've always wondered... each syllable in mandarin has 4 different intonations that each change the meaning. How does this work with singing. Surely singing a certain melody has to mess up the intonation, doesn't it? Do you just guess which of the 4 possible meanings the syllable has out of context? Maybe someone who knows some chinese could clear that up for me, that would be awesome.

  • @K17U Yes, basically, the words are understood from context. That is why most native Chinese speakers prefer to view the characters while someone is singing (& often that's how songs are presented on Chinese TV programs--with the characters).

    Hope this helps!

  • @LearnChineseWithEase It did. Thanks for the reply.

  • @K17U For singing Chinese the tones do not matter, so you will need to have a good comprehension of Chinese to understand the music by context.

  • I can't understand a word. XD

  • jajaja mandarin es raro

  • It's Coco李玟 as Mulan

    <3<3 yeah:D

  • My chinese is horrible too.

  • there should be a canto version, i mean im canto not mandarin

  • D: Mulan 2 changed the art style too much. The original was... better.

  • What does the title mean? all I got from this was selling sunlight graceful or something?

  • WTF?? XD

  • wow there's mado and not canto... i swear there's canto since i have mulan 2 DVD in canto...

  • ... I feel proud that I can understand this. xD I'm half-Chinese and grew up speaking it and English. <3

  • eh im japanese

  • 2:33 LOL BAJI ELBOW!

  • nice

  • 2:16-2:18

    NOODLE ARMS!!!!

  • I find it so weird that this is suppose to be in Chinese but Mulan says "huh" and Shang says "hi" all in English..hehe

  • 私はそんなにこの映画が大好き!私は絶対にも、同様に最初のものを崇拝する!

  • @XxRoboticXPantiesxX they re-animate the mouths for different languages.

  • It is sad. the song is fit in English version. In Chinese, the song become so horrible.

I am Manderin native speaker. It is all about language. You really can not do both

    in one sound track.

  • If you know the song in your own native language, you can understand another language. That's what I do. :3

  • I love how the mouth movement still matches!

  • Ahahahaha I can pick out like 2 of the three words in this song

  • yeah this is cool but it still sounds weird!!

  • LOVE iT

  • omfg.. Im chinese.. But like my mandarin is horrible. o-o

I like it english, but.. Invhinese. IT SOUND SO NATURAL. XD

  • 中文很難. 加油!!

  • 11 people didnt pass lesson number 1!

  • shi zheyang zhen bang !

  • it's kind of funny I'm watching this and putting off my project on the philosophy of yin yang

  • 你做的很好的工作! Wo hui shuo yi dianr Han yu, ke shi fa yin fa de bu hao! This is much appreciated!

  • @evieness7 darn u for knowing chinese :( ive always wanted to learn

  • @evieness7 btw how did u learn?

  • @RedRose10198 High School ^_^

  • Get Chinese Pinyin book from mypinyin.com

  • hearing mulan speak chinese is watching belle sing in french:)) perfection

  • @MrAsiansunite That's just rude and offensive, if you wanna say things like that why don't you move to China and consider yourself 'asian'. Seriously, if you have a username like that I suggest you chnage it or shut up

  • @MrAsiansunite What is wrong with you? I'm part Korean, but because i live in the US does that mean i'm not Korean? Well do you know what? When you visit China or any asian countries us Asians will happily say you can't call yourself "American" again. I don't speak much chinese, I just wanted to hear this song in chinese. And i read a sick comment like that? Well, as the proud Korean that i am i say to you 너 바보! Change your username. True asians stick together, not pull shit like this.

  • chinese sounds nice

  • youshihao ruan ru yun

sui zhu lin yao ye zai feng li

xin pingjing ziran jiu nenggou ming liao =]

  • @GreatfulxDays I have a better idea. lol How about you learn mandarin chinese and just listen for words you know?

  • It's interesting to listen to the song in the language it really would be spoken in. Especialy cause Mulan was a real person so this could be what she sounded like.

  • I wish Mulan can teach me Mandarin D:

I'm a Chinese yet my chinese is horrible xD

  • @YiPrincess I think you shouldn't bother yourself. All overseas Chinese should not consider themselves as Chinese anymore, after all you are the citizens of other country. Speaking frankly, it makes me sick when some Chinese in US behave like they are the patriots of China, they sing March of Volunteers, hold that Five Star Flag every year in October 1st. If you love China, why did you leave??? I think US government should ban their activity

  • @MrAsiansunite dude they all have rights man and frankly its like saying all norwegians should be banned from america man jesus chill

  • @MrAsiansunite Are you saying that we Chinese should 'return to China'? That's very insulting. And I don't live in the US. I live in a MULTI-RACE country. A place where everyone is accepted. And it makes ME sick when people ask me 'If you're Chinese. Why did you leave China?'. We have rights.

  • @YiPrincess 你在说什么啊?

  • 在一个多场国家。一个人人接受的地方。它让我感到恶心,当人们问我说:“如果你是中国人。你为什么离开中国?“。我们有权利。

  • @MrAsiansunite Dude, that's just not cool. Everyone has a right to practice their own culture. I'm white yet i love it when other people practise their cultures. Diffferent cultures liven up the world thank you very much! I ESPECIALLY love the Eastern cultures. Europe, Asian, etc. What you're saying is just rude, ignorant, and sick. What ur saying makes it seem like you're a freakin Nazi! They believed in restricting freedoms too.

  • @MrAsiansunite that is a seriously offensive thing to say, it's like when people I know say to me, "if your great grandfather was a prince and the maharaja's cousin, how come you don't live in India and no one calls you prince? People move on every generation.

  • @MrAsiansunite D U D E . We're spreading our culture throughout the world ! Take pride in that..we left 'cause China's oppressive, OR we wanted to be richer. Don't be so naive, you're shaming us here, man.

  • @MrAsiansunite stupid fucking boy, you don't seem to understand the word "multiculturalism". obviously, you can't speak any Chinese, based on how you put down us Chinese. I'm Chinese, and I speak Cantonese and Mandarin as well as anyone who lives in China. You make me sick, trying to sound all patriotic and "I love China". Leaving and looking for opportunity is different. I think China should ban you, you make Chinese people sick. The world should ban you, for being racist.

  • @YiPrincess me 2! i wanna learn but my granma lives far away and its really hard

  • @YiPrincess 中文很難. 加油!!

  • @YiPrincess I'm taking mandarin for my language class and what I wouldn't give to have Mulan as my teacher too!XD and I know what you mean!I'm half Japanese and I can't hardly speak at all!X3

  • @YiPrincess ;) Me too, but I'm Cantonese Chinese. I can't read....I fail....I can speak though...not well...double fail!

  • @YiPrincess My mandarin teacher always reminds me of mulan in this song XD

  • @YiPrincess are you adopted? cuz i am :D but...im southern so i should be learning cantonese but.... xD

  • @paperpand13 Nope xD Just really really bad... x3

  • Oh I love this :D Especially the part where they sang, “有时候,软如云。随竹林。。。”

  • wish i could learn kung fu that easily....

  • i lik this version

  • I WANNA LAUGH! WAHAHAHAHHAHAA ITS SO FUNNY! MUAHAHHAHAHAHAA

  • Just wondering, but does anyone have the lyrics for this version of this song? I'd really appreciate having them - I love this version.

  • @ daenacarter she was saying yi chi lai, which means lets go or lets do it together. ^_^

  • Mandrin sounds better when explaining Chi lol

  • There '9 dislikes'(as of currently). How can anyone 'dislike' this!?!?!

  • when she said you can fly it sounded like ichigo which is japenesse for strawberry.

  • @daenacarter

Ichigo is also also a Bleach character

  • Chinese is so much...cleaner?

English: Mulan is going to teach us how to kick butt!

Chinese: Mulan is going to teach us how to fight bad guys!

  • I feel so awesome that I can understand a few words of this.. >:D

..and disappointed because I'm full Chinese. XD

  • =[fantastic]=

  • It's really good cause I can also understand both. :)

  • @Pandasaurusable every word. or are you just showing off?

  • chinesch hört sich geil an schang schin :P

  • i always laugh when i see the fat girl dancing lol

  • Now it's Mulan!

  • Me thinks these little girls could have kicked Shan-Yu's ass way better than the rag tag army in the original Mulan.

So much for "China's" Mighty army. (Not referring to current china!)

  • wow i never knew there was a chinese version, and it sounds quite weird imo *runs away from fans*, maybe its just that I'm used to the english one :P

  • I want to learn MANDARIN CHINESE NOW!!!!!!!

  • @ballarinoula95 It's quite easy for anglo speakers, you just have to commit to it, like any language.

  • @ballarinoula95 Me too. They mostly teach us cantonese though. D: Und I dun care about chinese for that. Stupid university. :P

  • so pretty :)

  • Why is it that Disney movies seem better when done in the Movie's language or not in English at all?

  • It's so beautiful in Manderin!

  • i looove it!!! maybe more than the english version

  • yes i understood it. 1 year of chinese 2years ago and i still know some of it i am so happy:)

  • Thanks for this!

  • :]<3

  • The Mandarin version is so similar to the english version....its amazing!!!! :D

one year of chinese and i understood sum of it! so happy~

  • I like this one better than the English version!

  • Man! ive herd the song so much! i sang the English with this awesome vid!

  • i love how disney tries to reach evry girl's demographic: 'okay, fat girl, shy girl, tall girl, twins, and tough girl, you all stand in one line.'

  • sorry keyboard isnt working very well ment to say but im english so i cant speak full chinese yet

  • well i like it in chinese i can speak some chinese so i can sing along in chinese lol but im english lol so i can speak full chinese yet

  • i luv the building drums at 1:03

  • Aah, I wish they had chinese subs for this. It would be even more awesome.

  • bai tuo!! hahaha XD

  • I wonder what Chinese people think about the Mulan's movies as the other countries like Hercules for Greece or Aladdin for Arabia and so on.

The chinese girl who sings Mulan's part as a beauitful voice.

  • @musiccoloratura Mulan wasn't very popular in China. But Disney in general isn't very popular in China....the common complaint about the Mulan movie was that it was too Americanized. But I've met people from China who love the movie so it just depends...

  • @musiccoloratura They probably hated them... lol. I think Aladdin was banned in the Middle East for a while too (probably because of Jasmine's attire). But then again who knows.

  • @SaiKoSeSu that's so bad ! They miss something so good lol ... they just have to let go sometimes !

  • as a beginner in wushu I really love this video and the language really does fit the song because the characters are chinese

  • @yaom30 yeah your right because of this song I learn to love wushu even more

  • I love how Mandarin has certain intonations to each syllable. This song sounds very good in Mandarin!

  • I love Chinese :3

  • they matched it pretty well. seeing since mulan is chinese anyway, this is probably how it'll sound if in reality.? though something about it, sound included is still distinctly of english origin.? =D

  • i'm taking chinese right now and i can't believe i can actually understand this.

    i feel so accomplished XD

  • this ish pretty cool O_O

  • Anybody could post the simplified mandarin lyrics ?

  • 这是第一课!

  • I like it! :D but I like english better.

  • So do I. Just because they sound totally different here.

  • aww the song sounds so beautiful in this language !! i love the song even more !

  • @adaugo123456789 it's Taiwanese Mandarin

  • haha we use bejto when i'm training karate

  • It's weird but when I first watched this video Mandarin and Cantonese didn't sound any different to me.. but now Cantonese is way more familiar just because I've hung around my Cantonese friend's family a lot lately. Huh... I understand none of this on the other hand lol

  • @TheRoseGrrl lol

  • Does Mulan say 这是第一课 (This is lesson one)? Haha I'm learning Mandarin and I think I was able to pick that one out?

  • @jetset59 Watch the english version and you will desvover many more phrases and words that you know, or be able to work out.

  • no she says lesson number 1

  • @rockmysoxmrfox I am chinese: she says This is Lesson One

  • Comment removed

  • Lovely Language!!

  • Haha,I believe many ppl got the title wrong

"lesson number one"is the name of the song in this Mulan movie~~

  • I'm glad most of us love this Chinese language! But here's a bit of odd info: The original story of Mulan was written around the 6th century, but the earliest form of Mandarin Chinese only came into existence after the Mongols took over China around year 1271!

If Mulan did exist, I doubt she would speak Mandarin Chinese lol.

  • This one sounds more original.

  • xie xie

  • cool! very fun but way wayyyyyyy too fast for someone learning Chinese. not every useful

  • It's not suppose to teach you how to learn chinese "Lesson Number One" is the name of the song Mulan's singing.

  • This is cool. It's funny, I've seen this movie a few times now and never noticed Little Brother was there too lol

  • this is sooooo much better than the english version :)

  • Much too fast - Not helpful for beginners

  • study more!!! that's the best way if you can't understand =D

  • it's sooo awesome!! I want to learn it so much! but I can't find the lyrics, and it's hard to make them out while listening... if anyone has the lyrics, please-please-please write me back!

  • amazing! the mandarin version fits so well!

  • yess it's like too perfect and it's sounds great !!

  • weird twainese accent

  • I can't understand anything... but because it's Mulan whatever they are saying must be AWESOME.

  • well, keep in mind that when dubbing, they need to make it in a certain amount of syllable and stuff, and they care less about how it sounds

  • 2:40 - 2:42 Haha :P

  • Pause at 00:20 It's hilarious XD

  • wow, it sounds amazing xD

even tho' i dont even KNOW chinese, mandarin or not :)

    nicer than english x

  • 这是第一课

  • I recognize "di yi ke" and "di er ke." When you're learning a new language, picking out phrases like this is so rewarding!

  • I know right? I'm just learning Chinese and I was proud of myself when I could pick some of it out :)

  • this is SOOOOOOOOOo pretty :)

  • Any of you guys are Chinese? Understand this version?

    I do, because I am.

And this is basically identical in content to the English one.:D
