  • Purchased a D6ce in Philippines that's aged well with constant play. I’m now heading back to the USA and the airline with two check-ins requires me to purchase an additional seat as cabin baggage to bring the guitar. The seat costs more than the guitar is worth.

Distraught, I went online to look at the top guitar brands mid to entry level guitars at around $500, the price of the airline seat. Needless to say, I’m buying that extra seat.

  • I have the Greg Bennett D-1 (along with a couple Martins).

I discovered the guitar in a Nashville Music store. It has such a sweet sound and touch and when I saw the price ($165) I had to get it.

I like the tone and touch.

Its pretty for the price too.

  • I also agree about the cost. I have talked to other guitarist who have finally gotten over the "image' of what they are playing vs. getting the sound they really want. I used to have a $1300 "brand" guitar that was nice, but the versatility of tone I get from the Greg Bennett series is simply what I'm looking for.

  • I have to agree about the sound and quality of Greg Bennett Design guitars. I currently play the Malibu, and every time I play it live, people comment on the tone. I have been in the market for another guitar and have been going back and forth between Greg Bennett, Epiphone Les Paul, and even more expensive brands. But, as a player who values tone and versatility, I keep coming back to this brand.

  • Through all my collections of guitars...I must say that my Greg Bennett Design guitars stand out the most with amazing performance! I do also own and have owned Martin, Taylor, Gibson, etc,.(a few of which are collector's editions). But, let's face it... when you want good performance at all angles of how these Samicks are made directed to the player (amateur or experienced), Greg doesn't leave anything out. Thank You Mr. Bennett for your contributions and professionalism to the music world!

  • Bennett seems like a really nice guy, but he needs to stop acting like he invented the tilt back headstock. Les Pauls had them since the 50's. PRS pioneered the tuning pegs being roughly lined up with the nut slots on a 3 X 3 headstock. So, he's not doing anything new. It's just a logical evolution. But his guitars are good value for the money.

  • soft and s__y curves at 1:44 , lol

  • Na Greg Bennets are shit.

  • @Nothingtearsthebeast

I can't find a guitar that has a $4,000 value for $400. I'm assuming our priorities are different.

  • @houleyman If you're paying $4000, you're paying for the name, period. No guitar is worth more than $1000, and you can buy an excellent guitar for $500, or less.

  • @Zubirrex I believe we are having the same argument. lol. I meant that I cannot find a guitar that costs $4,000 (other than Greg Bennett or Samick) compares to G.B.'s $400 guitar.

  • @houleyman Doh, my bad. I stand corrected.

  • I have a torino 1. Really good sounding humbucker. And its a second hand.

  • I have one too. Greg Bennett Royale with Vox Amp.

  • I have a GB royale too!

  • I also have SAMICK Greg Bennett REGENCY travel Guitar just a small accoustic guitar but the sound is GReat!!! I really love it!

    best les paul copy EVER!

  • yes its got that great les paul style with some originality in the body and pickguard

  • ...and the flatter neck is lovely!

  • anyone have any comments on the ultramatic line? im interested in purchasing a UM3...

  • i have a greg bennett too

  • me to a greg bennett bass in colombia.

  • I have a greg bennett :D

  • same :P samick interceptor 1 (love it)

  • i have it too but it ddnt come with a tremolo :S

  • P.S. I have a Greg Bennett ST-6 student model that's just fantastic! - it's got great punch and intonation, though a tad boxy-sounding. Honestly, I enjoy playing this one more than the D5; I got more than I expected from the 6 and less from the 5. Sorry, that's the truth.

  • I have a D5, and though it's built rock-solid and looks great (they applied a little extra toner on the sides for that 'shimmer' appearance), regretfully I'm less than happy with the sound. Sure, it's got a solid top and it sounded good through an amp (had a Baggs put in), and it sounds good fingerpicked, but it sounds stiff while strummed and with less resonance. The tapered headstock is nice for sound's sake but go a little further and shave the braces down more so the top resonates better.

  • I have the Greg bennett

D 4 CE.. Picked it up for only

    $288

I love it.. beats my Takaminie

    that cost around the same.

  • i have that guitar

  • Same

  • Incredibly informative! Explained in a straight forward, easy to understand way. Thankyou!
