You know, some major nations, such as China, conceal their full military budget. Also, much of that "military" spending is taking care of our veterans and current services members. For example, I'm paid 10$/hr for working in the produce department of a commissary.

You don't stop proliferation by adding to the world's arsenal. As it is the US spends 48% of the world's total military budget. NEARLY HALF of all MILITARY in the WORLD is spent the US and we make up 5% of the world's population. WE SPEND WAY TOO MUCH ON MILITARY. FURTHERMORE, we spend 43% of our national budget on military-related expenditures. AND this is in an era when traditional military threats have been reduced. A nuclear bomb can't stop a hijacked plane and a WMD can't stop a car bomb.

As an 18 year member of the military, I would never vote for a presidential candidate who was not a veteran.

Obama has a charm and charisma that make him likeable and somewhat believable, but just because Hollywood has changed the average Americans view of what makes a good leader, those two traits aren't at the top of the list; not enough for him to get my vote, especially when it comes to defense.

Of John McCain's many qualities, his notable miltary service have proved him worthy of the task.

He wants to keep troops dying until 2013. That translates to trillions in an economy that is nearing bankruptcy due to the economic bubble. Something is wrong with this picture.Hillary is a proven crook. Ron Paul has not relation to Cheney,Kerry,Obama,Bush. Will we remain too stupid to see there is something wrong with this picture. Obama against the war? He voted 5 times for the Patriot act,a slap in the face to American People. He voted for foreign labor to clean up New Orleans, a slap in the face to resident African Americans. He served one to 10 terms of Ron Paul who has been consistent throughout his career( never seen in congress).Can't you see that nepotism is no coincidence. Cheney's relation to him says a lot. Vote for Obama is a vote for more of the same.

Actually, Obama was running for the Senate, at a time when it was considered political suicide to oppose the then-popular Iraq War. So, no. It wasn't easy for him to be against it at all. And did he come out of nowhere? Uh...no. He's been involved in politics for the better part of a decade now. I know it's challenging to do some research (especially for Ron Paul supporters, which is sad b/c Ron Paul himself is a smart man), but you'll feel better once you do.

NO. Until we open our eyes to see the world by our own eyes and until we stop listening, repeating and advertising what we are told by the enemies, we don't even deserve Bush. Maybe we should vote for someone like Ahmedinejad before we can truly become committed for a real change.

Actually, Obama promised to never consider a nuclear attack on Iran. Hillary called him naive, and said that "all options are on the table".

And he's not on the Council on Foreign Relations. He's on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which sends Barack to assess the situations across the world, like Darfur and Israel/Palestine, so Barack can come back and make informed decisions. That's no conspiracy.

I don't think that Ron Paul *would* restore the Constitution. Ron Paul never took a Constitutional Law class in his life (he took only biology and economics classes in college). Barack Obama TAUGHT Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago for eleven years, and was a civil rights lawyer.

The fact that Ron Paul delivered a lot of babies does not qualify him to be president of the United States.

Gotta say the following: at first blush, some of these policies seem defeatist, others idealistic. Does America really need a president who would take all these precautions to avoid war? Why shouldn't we weaponize space? Does he have a magic wand, which he will need to negotiate with today's Russia? Do we want Barack in office when the world starts another war? I gotta say, I don't know. Perhaps he can elaborate on these points later on.

I like all of the ideas here. America needs to cast a wide shadow, but we can't get tied down with the M-I complex in unneccesary wars. I absolutely think space should be weapons-free, but I'd also like to know Obama's thoughts on funding more missions(unmanned ones) of NASA, since they have a number of possible missions and they can't afford half of them under current budgeting.
