Hey, please don't be mean, I'm just looking for people who truly love this game and have a great imagination and love writing. I'm a roleplayer and I've played this game millions of times and wish Troika Games could make another one so while I'm waiting and hoping for a continuation, I decided to create my own character and develop story lines based on the game's clans, locations and main characters. Guys i'm having problems running this game under Windows 7. Everytime I try, the screen goes blank and it says 'Out of Reach'. I knew how do fix the problem under Windows XP with dxdiag, but the option to select ur frame rate it's not THERE ANYMORE, not under Win 7
What do I do ? Can anyone please, please help me ?!?!
@Rashaed I'm playing under Windows 7 without any problems. Yet I tried to run the game AFTER I installed unofficial patch. So maybe you should try that.
@admarvelwarlock The way I fixed it is that you have to switch the "run this software on...." over to 'Windows XP'. Since it's an XP game, it'll still act kinda funny, but not so much to where you can't play and enjoy it.
@admarvelwarlock I finally got it to play on Windows 7; I'm using steam, though. I had to change my User Control setting to 'off', all the way, and then it worked. I also have it running in Windows xp mode, I think.
One of my all time favorite games... yes the games combat system wasn't the best, the game was easy and repetitive and it had alot of bugs - but despite all of that, the game just nailed the atmosphere perfectly and made you want to explore the vampire world more and more, it had awesome characters and the malkavian dialogue lines were just priceless.
It still makes me sad to think there won't be a sequel...
@heheIvan those patches are a little too late for me, i finished the game several times a long time ago and had enough of it, it got to a point that i knew the dialogues almost by heart :P
It's not about "coexisting". It's about market demand. Producers see money in such crapy things that appeal to many teenagers without taste, so why would they spend more money on something that's actually good? :/
Because, you know, movies without script and books without sense are less expensive to make and morons will still pay full price for it...

@biciunas totally. One of the best games ever. My personal 2nd best after "The Witcher" (though in Polish localization,unfortunately translation misses here and there but is still great)". The story and voice acting in VtMB is pure brilliance. And I had a lot of fun with the combat too. On of the few games I replayed instantly after 1st walk through.
The fact that this game was no success is good proof for the lack of taste of the mainstream. Man I miss that game, I play it over and over again and I am sad, that there will be no more. Go and watch your fucking Edward Cullen! In this game you will find real vampires!

@TheSecretX The game is a classic, but hardly no one knew about it when it was realesed by the lack of advertisement and in the shadow of half-life 2. It also was unfinished and some bugs prevented people from finishing the game.

@Tekwarthewolf Don't get your hopes up. People are still waiting for the Fallout games on that No Mutants Allowed website. I doubt that we are even getting WoD. Even though the idea sounds kick ass, an MMO probably isn't the best place for such an awesome storyline like VtM:B.

I've played with all of the clans, but the only one I didn't really care for were the Toreador. I found them a little boring to play. My very first clan was the Gangrel, then Ventrue, Malkavian, Tremere, Nosferatu, Toreador, and finally Brujah. I guess the clans you choose really depend on how you want to play the game.
@lunaprincess04 I played Toreador first time and loved it with em. celerity plus a katana was great fun :) and I liked all the persuasive dialogue options.
donno why i played this game like 8 times as gangrel and 1 time per other races (and i didint end game every race onely few and as gangrel every game was till the end). Guess im a little doggy huh?
@TheEnglishBadman What Nosferatu add is they are basically a walking masquerade violation so they can't walk around in the streets or use the cab like the other clans and have to stick to the sewers.
Increasing Obfuscate should probably be a priority if you play one.
@MrKimura00 It was called "Kindred: The Embraced". Ran for 7 episodes and was cancelled. Might have had a second chance but the Ventrue Prince (Mark Frankel) died in a motorcycle accident. All 7 are on YT. The quality is not great, but WTF, it's free.
@mistressFavole The clan discipline Vicissitude can create monsters or or make the Tzimisce even more beautiful then a Toreador :P
But its a pity that they never let us play as The Sabbat in the bloodlines or redemption games! I like them the most :( only on the live rpg, and i not very good at that. lol

Playing the Sabbat would lack the "maintaining your humanity" aspect which VTM is mainly supposed to be about (supernatural angst.) Sabbat are monterouse vampires and were only playable after fans wanted it.

@Herbstgespenst There's a lot to play with here. Ventrue, Toreador, Brujah. And there are a ton of user-made expansions and mods out there. Camarilla Nights is just one. The music really makes it stand out.

@Ejay669 no your wrong that im sure of, in terms of personal powers i would say tzimisce are the strongest. the harbingers are strong to because they found a way to beat final death but theres to few harbingers to do any real damage.
@Plaguedmarionette The Tzimisce are in my opinion far too old-fashioned and stuck in the time of the voivodes - Theme Song: Hungarian Nights - to be properly powerful in modern times. Their minds are fearfully sharp and twisted - but not human enough to follow Kine (mortal) trends. Besides... having to _always_ have a handful or two of your native earth with you when you sleep sounds the same as having nightmares without a teddy bear. ;)

@Ashoads never say never. game studios break out sequels to really old games all the time, especially recently, like with Splatterhouse. If they do end up making a new one of these games though, lets hope they dont make it really, really shitty. Like Splatterhouse.
My favored clans are Brujah because they were powerful even in fist-fights, Malkavian because their conversaitions were too stupid not to mention their clothes, Nosferatu, even they were like rats on the sewers and Tremere because of their powers, they are worked like magicians in the game!

@Rashaed I'm Tremere vampire, I decided to use a melee weapon but now i have a problem. I found out who is distributing the plague Downtown but I can't kill him, he's too fast for me and uses a shotgun... I have Suicide as top magic , blood strike, purge...
any advice? And who should I join, Camarila or Anarchs? Or do something on my own?

LaCroix, Nines, Bertram Tung, Jack, VV, the taxi driver ( i loved that mysterious guy) ... damn, all the characters in this game rock !
Each one is well-developed, they all have an interesting and personnal aspect that attracts me.
The plot and conversation are wonderful, and fascinating !
Simply the best vampire game ever made.

I've played with all of the clans, but the only one I didn't really care for were the Toreador. I found them a little boring to play. My very first clan was the Gangrel, then Ventrue, Malkavian, Tremere, Nosferatu, Toreador, and finally Brujah. I guess the clans you choose really depend on how you want to play the game.

donno why i played this game like 8 times as gangrel and 1 time per other races (and i didint end game every race onely few and as gangrel every game was till the end). Guess im a little doggy huh?

@TheEnglishBadman What Nosferatu add is they are basically a walking masquerade violation so they can't walk around in the streets or use the cab like the other clans and have to stick to the sewers.
Increasing Obfuscate should probably be a priority if you play one.

Also the creators of The Masquerade changed the lore, and they didn't continue with the Malkavian clan.

@MrKimura00 It was called "Kindred: The Embraced". Ran for 7 episodes and was cancelled. Might have had a second chance but the Ventrue Prince (Mark Frankel) died in a motorcycle accident. All 7 are on YT. The quality is not great, but WTF, it's free.

But its a pity that they never let us play as The Sabbat in the bloodlines or redemption games! I like them the most :( only on the live rpg, and i not very good at that. lol

Playing the Sabbat would lack the "maintaining your humanity" aspect which VTM is mainly supposed to be about (supernatural angst.) Sabbat are monterouse vampires and were only playable after fans wanted it.

@Herbstgespenst There's a lot to play with here. Ventrue, Toreador, Brujah. And there are a ton of user-made expansions and mods out there. Camarilla Nights is just one. The music really makes it stand out.

@Plaguedmarionette The Tzimisce are in my opinion far too old-fashioned and stuck in the time of the voivodes - Theme Song: Hungarian Nights - to be properly powerful in modern times. Their minds are fearfully sharp and twisted - but not human enough to follow Kine (mortal) trends. Besides... having to _always_ have a handful or two of your native earth with you when you sleep sounds the same as having nightmares without a teddy bear. ;)

My favored clans are Brujah because they were powerful even in fist-fights, Malkavian because their conversaitions were too stupid not to mention their clothes, Nosferatu, even they were like rats on the sewers and Tremere because of their powers, they are worked like magicians in the game!
Play this game, you will feel that you are a god with this.

@Rashaed I'm Tremere vampire, I decided to use a melee weapon but now i have a problem. I found out who is distributing the plague Downtown but I can't kill him, he's too fast for me and uses a shotgun... I have Suicide as top magic , blood strike, purge...
any advice? And who should I join, Camarila or Anarchs? Or do something on my own?
