@videogeek2008 in case you were unable to notice the date of this video it was made in 2007. This was before the button was added to the remote. Sorry you werent informed of this before you made such a rash comment....but hey the worlds got to have some morons for us to laugh at right....haha

@amag911 btw buddy i used to work for tivo so i think i hate to break it to u but i think i know our equipment and i hate to be the one to miss inform u but that button has been on every remote since series 1 tivo it only just changed in april of this year when the new premere unit came out because a better button was put in it place so looks like im not the moron u are lol

@amag911 more likely he had a series one unit. It actually had a 30 sec skip button. All units after that one the commercial skip was voluntarily removed as part of a lawsuit because advertisers were complaining. Tivo in its wisdom however left a secret code that lets you re-enable it. However it doesn't work well with some web content and it still functions as normal when you are fast-forwarding and press it.

Wish I would have left well-enough alone the fast forward feature is much better and I miss being able to skip to the end (yes, I actually used that particular feature, LOL).

Thank you! I owe an you an apology...the undo did work after trying it three times, LOL. Not sure why I had to do it multiple times, but it did work so thanks for helping me put my TiVo back the way I like it. :) This particular hack does is not useful for the way I use TiVo...too much button pushing with it on, LOL. ;o)

This is an annoying change, it's much faster just to double fast forward and let TiVo make the normal slight back skip correction when you hit play again, than to keep having to hit the skip 30 second button. Commercials are more than 30 seconds any more and therefore I find I have to hit the button too many times to actually be productive and save me trouble.

how do I skip to the tick marks during live TV? In recorded programs I can FF/RW then press advance to skip to ticks but why not during live TV?
