People have to decide what they want for this nation. We know what we have had. And we know what it has turned into. There's really only one question here. Are we going to have a Constitutional form of government with Representatives & elect Ron Paul as the next President of the US or are we going to stay on the same downward ladder to nowhere except for the government taking more and more of what we have. Ron Paul has proven himself and now it's time we stand behind him.

I understand the idea of everybody being an individual, and that's true. But we can't pretend that there isn't a need for certain groups in america to have their right to vote protected. I lived in texas(who ron paul represents) and saw first hand how voting rights have been violated, however legally. Look up prairie view a&m(an hbcu). They've had problems every year with every election, local or national. Like I said, I like a lot of his policies, but that is a major problem I can't get with.

I had paltalk on my computer years ago, and took it off. The "black" section was all gospel or sex rooms. Then I kept getting kicked out of the politics rooms because many of the moderators (who all happened to be white) disagreed with my views, not for being disrespectful. Either way, I'm still learning about Ron Paul. But generally, when someone talks about reducing the federal govt, that also includes taking away jobs from many of the blacks who work in the public sector and voting rights.

Mitt Romney supporters turn me off. I mean, did you see them during Mitt's speech? In comparison, Paul's crowd was alive and doing some pretty cool and entertaining things during the speech.
There's really not a lick of difference between Mitt and Obama. Depending on what day of the week it is, Mitt believes in the same things Obama believes in. Socialized healthcare and mandates, war, abortion, etc. He's flipped and flopped on the issues, but seeing as most presidents lie their way into office, I think I'll believe his former positions before he started catering to a certain base. I'm shocked that constitutional, anti-abortion, religious people could vote for Mitt.
This cannot be over stated enough in my opinion. The biggest obstacle for Ron Paul is not the main stream media, it is his supporters. This is sad and ironic because this is also the thing that gives him such a strong core and has rallied support and attention to his cause. We have to be smarter in the way we approach things and tone down the things that turn people off, the cause is too important to do otherwise. Tact is the ability to tell someone they are wrong without causing offense.

@annebeck58 It is already an inherent uphill battle in which to change someone's mind. I find it is impossible. The best you can hope for is to introduce information or a perspective to them that they were not aware of or had not previously considered. It is up to THAT person to change their mind. The trap is getting emotional while making your case. If you can avoid petty slights or emotional rhetoric you have the best chance of being heard.

@jbr1074 Sure there is, go read up a bit on the philosophy of liberty, drop a few pearls of wisdom on your friends from time to time. Once you've got the concept in your head, it's very simple to see every where. When you get a friend to nod at that peral of wisdom you say, "That's what Ron Paul is about", They'll say "what?" and you explain the basic of liberty and go from there. You don't have to sell liberty, just have to explain it, it sells it self.
Ron Paul can and will win IF we all get behind him and give it our all. One man can't do it alone. This is our fight, our cause, our future. The Founding Fathers pledged "our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor". It will take nothing less today.

I understand the idea of everybody being an individual, and that's true. But we can't pretend that there isn't a need for certain groups in america to have their right to vote protected. I lived in texas(who ron paul represents) and saw first hand how voting rights have been violated, however legally. Look up prairie view a&m(an hbcu). They've had problems every year with every election, local or national. Like I said, I like a lot of his policies, but that is a major problem I can't get with.

I had paltalk on my computer years ago, and took it off. The "black" section was all gospel or sex rooms. Then I kept getting kicked out of the politics rooms because many of the moderators (who all happened to be white) disagreed with my views, not for being disrespectful. Either way, I'm still learning about Ron Paul. But generally, when someone talks about reducing the federal govt, that also includes taking away jobs from many of the blacks who work in the public sector and voting rights.

There's really not a lick of difference between Mitt and Obama. Depending on what day of the week it is, Mitt believes in the same things Obama believes in. Socialized healthcare and mandates, war, abortion, etc. He's flipped and flopped on the issues, but seeing as most presidents lie their way into office, I think I'll believe his former positions before he started catering to a certain base. This cannot be over stated enough in my opinion. The biggest obstacle for Ron Paul is not the main stream media, it is his supporters. This is sad and ironic because this is also the thing that gives him such a strong core and has rallied support and attention to his cause. We have to be smarter in the way we approach things and tone down the things that turn people off, the cause is too important to do otherwise. Tact is the ability to tell someone they are wrong without causing offense.

The best you can hope for is to introduce information or a perspective to them that they were not aware of or had not previously considered. It is up to THAT person to change their mind. The trap is getting emotional while making your case. If you can avoid petty slights or emotional rhetoric you have the best chance of being heard.

I think cursing at inanimate objects (and my car is trying to BE inanimate, esp now!) is a good thing- helps keep me from cursing at PEOPLE!

@jbr1074 Sure there is, go read up a bit on the philosophy of liberty, drop a few pearls of wisdom on your friends from time to time. Once you've got the concept in your head, it's very simple to see every where. When you get a friend to nod at that peral of wisdom you say, "That's what Ron Paul is about", They'll say "what?" and you explain the basic of liberty and go from there. You don't have to sell liberty, just have to explain it, it sells it self.

As for any atheists that watch these vids by Tmot, and are Ron Paul supporters, kindly STFU about religion. :) I am an atheist and can easily get beyond the religion with one simple realization - The Philosophy of Liberty, which I use as my moral code, is also the moral code Christ speaks of in the bible, Do unto others ... Matthew 7:12.
If you're not a RP supporter and you are an atheist and come in here to whine, I suspect you'll be shown the door.

@mersk100 The 'golden rule' and any version of it, is present in every religion and every atheist I've ever discussed this with pretty much has the 'you leave me alone, I'll leave you alone' attitude. It's an easy to understand concept that the smallest child could understand, yet most adults go out of their way to misrepresent.

@asraiSOA Yep, golden rule is every where, just about every religion I have studied has it expressed in one form or another. I've also traveled the world in my time and what I learned was this, people are more alike than they are different, and that freedom and liberty are more elemental that any religion or philosophy.
We are all born with freedom, all given to us by the universe, god, nature, whatever you want to call it. It is all we have, and more than we deserve.
