I'm pretty sure Food Basics is the only store to carry them and they've really shrunk in size over the years. What used to be a 180g or so bag is now 120g, if that.
The BBQ used to taste so good back in the day NOW LAYS TOOK OVER IT AND IT SUCKS! BBQ FLAVOR TASTES LIKE SUGER CHIPS! EWWW MAKES ME SICK. Thank god, humpty-dumpty "old dutch" BBQ flavor is nice and spice~!
Yes, quite some time ago, it became the Frito Lay company...then Pepsi bought them...and Quaker...along with Snapple. Hostess is NOT lays in a Hostess bag. There is a difference...at least with the regular chips. Also...is Lays cosher? (sp?) I know Hostess is claiming to be...perhaps that's why the Hostess name is still around today...???
The foil paper bags,..and back then .25,..then .35 per small bag!
They DID have their own taste...I recall them to be quite salty! I remember in 1982, I opened a bag, & found a huge salt lump stuck on a couple chips. (I was quite young & loved salt). Today I would not be impressed, but at the time it was like a "bonus chip"!! :P (my salty tongue)
They had crazy flavours back then also,..like "Pizza Chips",..I think
@SpookyHelder Lucky! Here they got replaced, kinda sorta, with Lays. Though I still once in a while see Hostess trucks in my area with the Munchies on them. Weird, but I do loves my nostalgia!

@SpookyHelder: Hostess potato chips can definitely be found in my region (North Bay, Ontario).
