jtorres5381 Greetings from Lima, Perú. You're right: it's part of the soundtrack of Master & Commander. I'm a fan of that movie I went to saw it 3 times at the cinema & I've bought the DVD. By the way, I'm a violinist. This piece is played when the Surprise has left behind Cape Horn & again when Dr Maturin must be transported to the Galápagos for taking out the bullet from his body. My definition of Corelli's music is "ratione proportione", or vice versa. Everything is in perfect proportion and it all sounds perfect. No "extraneous" notes that might impede the natural progression of the harmonies. Thanks for this video! I hope someday, before I et too much older, to play continuo for these concerti.

I so love the very emotional sound of a violin releases. In 1983 my son was enrolled in the prestigious Bradley Institute of Music across the border, in Canada, which was no more than some two miles from our house.

There they taught him piano, which I had at home, and violin, which I rented, for he did not seem too keen on learning it: "I don't like it! It's too hard!"

That Dec. 23rd my third floor tenants broke into my place and stole most every thing they could carry,... but the violin!!
