People need to stop hating on which is better and who made the band. Although I kind of despise Liam for making Noel leave ultimately. But the point is without Liam's attitude Oasis wouldn't be who they are. Without Noel's Godliness Oasis wouldn't be who they are. Without either of them well... then you end up with a 1 man show. So in reality many people will disagree but the truth of the matter is that Noel and Liam make Oasis not just 1 of them... but BOTH.

Can someone explain why Noel appears to be singing down into his microphone, as opposed to having his mic positioned in a horizontal fashion in tours pre the dbtt tour ?

Come on. Noel's written most of the catalogue. I won't say Liam's worthless, because he's contributed "I'm outta time" among others and a contrasting vocal style, but Noel basically is Oasis.
I love the make up of both the boys .Although Noel has a beautiful voice it doesn't stand out like Liam's. Maybe Liam's voice isn't perfect but its still a signature voice and most bands just don't have that. Noels song writting abilities are just insane. It just works.
I have only been introduced to Oasis in the last 6 or so months. What I have found is that I prefer Noel's voice & version of most of the songs. I thought Liam was just an image who couldn't really deliver. Then I heard Live Forever & my life was changed. I feel badly for Liam because due to age and hard living his voice isn't velvety any longer, but at one time he was f ing amazing and genuinely unique. I still prefer Noel, but have an appreciation for Liam and what hes done. This song rules.
Yes, it's sad. Hopefully the boys will cuddle and make up, but at the very least, maybe Noel will tour singing with acoustics only and perhaps Gem will accompany him. Hanging with and putting up with Liam's antics for 38 or so years has got to get old!!
Comparing Noel and Liam isn't that difficult in my estimation. I'll save everyone time though and simplify it...Liam bangs and a tambourine around and speaks drunken gibberish, while Noel plays guitar and writes amazing songs. You fill in the blanks...

I definitely agree. although it is a terrible habbit that music fans have to only consider music from the past as great, it's totally understandable at the same time, because main stream music today I would have to say is generally much less impressive than that of the 60s.

regarding my generation i am convinced that oasis is the most important band. slide away, don't look back in anger, wonderwall, live forever, importance of being idle, some might say, talk tonight aren't only pop or rocksongsk, they transport the key feelings in such an easy, fresh and true way, the are legends. In my opinion the beatles are great, but overrated. more overrated than oasis.
Gallaghers made just as many classics as Lennon/McCartney have i think. Just in this generation we're all obssessed with crap artists like Rhianna and bloody Chris Brown where The Beatles were in the age where rock n roll was the main genre. Oasis aren't in the same age so it's more difficult for them to be accepted as greats

Actually, if we talk about musician heroes, I think we should talk about John Lennon, even about Paul McCartney, but not about Noel Gallagher.
I'm not saying right is wrong, it's up to us to make the best of all the things that come our way.

regarding my generation i am convinced that oasis is the most important band. slide away, don't look back in anger, wonderwall, live forever, importance of being idle, some might say, talk tonight aren't only pop or rocksongsk, they transport the key feelings in such an easy, fresh and true way, the are legends. In my opinion the beatles are great, but overrated. more overrated than oasis.

Gallaghers made just as many classics as Lennon/McCartney have i think. Just in this generation we're all obssessed with crap artists like Rhianna and bloody Chris Brown where The Beatles were in the age where rock n roll was the main genre. Oasis aren't in the same age so it's more difficult for them to be accepted as greats

couldn't agree more Billibaielyisalegend, a very good point. Hes up there with the greats, luckily theres lots of us out there who can see right through the crazy rap and contemporary music around today, and see the truly great stuff.. like Oasis.
