  • i freaking hate medieval "reanactors"... all the do is swing because thats all they know how to do. swing overhand wait to get hit swing overhand wait to get hit.

their armor is a mixed mess between various eras in the world and they give eachother terrible world of warcraft names instead of historical names

  • Sorry, but a total misuse of the weapons and weapon styles.

  • @chatnoir06 its ok I have played SCA in the past as well Amtgard, H.M.R., Adren empire, as well as others. There are many good people in SCA but the times that I have been part of SCA it was heavily suggested that I only play SCA if i wanted to advance or be respected. I was there to fight to go to events and have fun with good people. I had to drop the SCA because I wanted to fight any way. I want to fight live steel as well as fantasy L.A.R.P. I will not be limited or made uncomfortable.

  • This is not SCA this is I.M.C. Intense medieval Combat. I am the one with the big axe. We are a group from around New Mexico as our members live in many of the different city's the armor that I am in is mostly wax hardened leather and only has a wait of 30 pounds without the helmet. The helmet by itself is about 12-15 pounds. In comparison to a full suet of chain which includes the chain lags full length shirt with full arms and a coif which I do have made and still have. has a weight of 60 lb

  • @axehammer2000 Sorry about the confusion, the faire was billing you as the SCA.

  • this isn't sca, they use retan and only retan for sparring. this is a group from albuquerque and santa fe called IMC. Also, normally you wouldn't see this much heavy armour in a fight, that is just group safety guidelines. and that stuff is heavy to fight in.

  • What the hell was that all about?

  • It's a display of what fighting looked like back in the day, with real heavy weapons and steel armor and stuff like that. Hence the name, "live steel combat."

  • Um, I doubt it's what fighting looked like back, ...whenever. And it figures the SCA would use that particular term....

  • Feel free to take it up with the SCA I guess.
