The funny thing is the owner of this tractor now live down the street from me and is very friendly neighbor. I have hims some tomatoes and basil plants. and I think I recognised that dog in the video to be his dog :) The farm I own has an equaly tragic story and I offer support to who ever made this video as it helps I think.
I grew up in Finlayson and Floyd & Carol were wonderful people. I helped Floyd make hay a couple summers and he was wonderful to work for. He still used that thrashing machine on his oats, he said the straw was much better than from a combine. The Oliver 99 tractor at 4:33 used to belong to us, Floyd bought it from my dad. Very sad video, Floyd & Carol both died way too young.
Lived on a farm in Ohio when I was young and what a joy. It was very sad to see a lifetime of possessions sold off at yard sale prices. Noone could know the real story behind each piece. Very touching video. Thanks for posting it.
Sorry for your loss, I feel your pain. The farm I grew up on, worked on, and loved to be on, was eliminated at auction when my grandfather died, from farmers disease of all things. (Farmers Disease is like black lung and emphysema combined, its caused by breathing in grain dust and crop residue, for those who don't know)The state hit us with inheritance tax, estate tax, capitol gains tax and a couple other taxes, so needless to say, we got the boot, and the farm went to auction.
that is such a sad video i hope that i can take over my parents farm i love that place and already im only 16 and theres lots of great memories already .
I really broke down and cried watching this, especially the segment with the gravestone at the end; I own a farm in neighboring Wisconsin and know how much Floyd and Carol must have loved their land. Very moving video, great choice of music too.
Ho boy this is a sad video, I hate it when a farm is sold, as you said It was sad to see a lifetime of labor, possessions and memories disappear at the strike of an auctioneer's gavel, I hope my sons will take over our farm
so the same thing won't happern here, but it makes you stop and think about life.....
yes very sad. this sort of event is also taken place only to often here in wales uk. not the fact that they dont have children but the fact that there children have gone to big money jobs in the big cities and refuse to return to the land were the money is tight but the lifestyle is rewardind when you deliver livestock to the world there is no feeling like it belive me.i hope this land is being farmed again with the sound of children playing in the backround without farmers theres no future.fact
I loved this video. This video to me reminds me that Im only here for a limited. Not to hold my possessions too close but to help those around me because those acts are true assets.
Nice channel. We are just starting out and would LOVE to have you either become our friend or maybe also be a subscriber.

Wow, as a farmer . . . you put together a real heart string puller . . . great work. Lets not forget those who worked the land.

That was very touching. I have delivered newspapers in the Finlayson Area for the past ten years now. I love all the rolling hills and old farms.

I spend my weekends near Finlayson and have a deep appreciation of those who work the land. This was a very nicely done tribute.
