  • i used to have two greyhounds, lady and allie...lady had a disease where her toenails fell off so she couldnt race so they just locked her up in a cage and hosed her down with a pressure hose...allie on the other hand was a great racer she was practically worshiped...i rescued them from the Philadelphia greyhound rescue...i had so many memories with them and i miss them...R.I.P. girls

  • i have a greyhound and hes the best dog in the world, and i think thouse breeders should burn in hell and i hope they make it to the deepest level of hell

  • In my opinion I have a website donated to my (all greyhounds). Greyhound racing needs to be banned. Is that anyway for a dog to be raised? Is that anyway for a greyhound to have to live. I had a greyhound and she never once seen a track. I think that it is cruel and if someone wants to make money they should use their bodies not a poor innocent dog that can speak. They are meant to be family pets not money makers. If anyone has a problem with my response TOO BAD!

  • i think its disgusting what they do to these creatures.

my first greyhound was an ex-racer who was really underweight when we got him and had been living in horrible conditions, only because he wasnt a winner. i then talked to this woman about greyhounds and she said she worked at a place where they just killed losing greyhounds. Its truly sick.

  • Thank you for your moving video...I have been involved in greyhound rescue since I was 16 and I am now 51. I will have a grey until the day I die and there is always going to be a provision in my will for the wonderful hound in my life. God Bless you!11

  • I study the Bible obsessively, so I'll address your challenge. Animals became food AFTER the Fall. In Genesis 1:29 (KJV), God allows Adam "every herb bearing seed" and "every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." Animals ate "every green herb for meat." They roamed openly and were named by Adam, who had dominion over them. Why did the God of the Bible put animals on the pre-Fall, vegetarian earth if they are only made for human consumption?

  • Albert Schweitzer said, "The human spirit is not dead, but lives on in secret. It has come to believe that compassion, in which all ethics must take root, can only attain its full breadth and depth if it embraces all living creatures." Animals live on this planet for their own reasons, regardless of how ardently you wish it weren't so. They are not here for the cage or the slaughter or to satisfy your fleeting hunger. You have no natural servants; even shackles cannot hide that truth.

  • Proclamations of "Prioritize, Prioritize!" offer no reduction to the great mass of cruelty occupying this planet. Benefit is only brought by those who act on behalf of the causes they feel passionately about. The pain grows each day; it manifests in peaceful regions and throws more bodies--feathered, furred, or clothed--into the fires. What difference do priorities make to a creature in agony? Is it her pain or your conscience that is dulled and relieved by such reasoning?

  • These dogs are so adorable. I have rescued one, and I LOOOOOOOOVE him...

  • my parents were in the greyhound business, so i know about the cruelty that goes on. i wish dog racing would end. greyhounds are beautiful and gentle dogs and deserve better.

  • Somewhere right now a little girl or boy is being sexually abused and mistreated. POOR DOG!!!!!!!! Sure glad you adopted that greyhound. SAVE A CHILD!!!!!!

  • how hard is it to adopt a child. how hard is it to adopt a dog.

  • I never said ADOPT a child. I said SAVE a child.

  • ok, how do you go about saving a child?

  • 10,000 greyhounds die a year? Do you realize how many millions of animals are killed each year in the meat industry??

  • Yes, and they were put here on earth for just that reason!!!!! Thank GOD!!!!!

  • animals are not born to be killed. they all deserve some time on this earth before nature takes them.

  • So you are telling us that animals were not put here on earth for us to eat????

Read the bible and get back to us on that one. Just for example: What purpose does a pig serve? Other than BACON?

Do you want to hug him and squeeze him, love him and pet him? COME ON!!!!!

Besides that if we wait for nature to take them they would be way to tough to eat....

  • it's sad that you chose to think in a very one dimensional view. I don't think it's wrong to eat meat though. I myself chose to eat meat because that is how we are born. although i eat meat i don't believe the animals i eat were born to be my meal. i only eat animals from my farm who have died of natural causes. my beef is better then most because i raise my animals in non stressed conditions.

  • @buckeyewannabe Go ahead and eat all the pig you want and you will be eating worms. Why did the demons want to be thrown into the pigs? Because demons can only survive in something unclean and pigs are unclean animals. No animals were not placed here for us to consume. Only after the fall of man and after the flood were certain animals allowed to be eaten. Before you go ahead an spew 'read the Bible' - I suggest you do the same and understand your history.

  • @buckeyewannabe WHAT THE HELL! ARE YOU TRYING TO FUCKING TELL ME THAT EATING DOGS ARE OKAY!!!!

  • you have a point

  • Children are abused and starved to death everyday. How about you focus your time and energy on the human race rather than some dumbass dog race.........

  • Comment removed

  • That's my point... Who are the parents that are letting this happen???

Where are the videos showing the poor abused children and starving children in america?????

  • there are huge organizations protecting children. there are few little organizations protecting greyhounds. no being on earth should be abused. just because some lives being abused are our own species doesn't mean we should ignore the other lives being abused. we are no better then any animal, we're simply smarter.

  • I am not going to disagree with you on this note. No being should be abused, I agree. What I do disagree with is spending countless hours figuring out how to stop greyhound racing, while there are still children dying every day to the hands of some sick individual. Prioritize!!!!

  • I am an owner of a greyhound, and they do go through all sorts of abuse when they are raced, We found a couple of scars on him, because of the abuse. But he is a good dog. Greyhounds have the biggest hearts of dogs especially of what they go through.

  • and iam not saying greyhound are not the only dog or cat ect that gits killed but greyhound git thrown a whay like trash or some thing but the ppl that kill animals are not right in the mind you no what iam saying greyhounds raceing is a blod sport !!!

  • This comment is for sh97, should we suppress all predatory animals instincts. All predatory animals risk injury and even death each time they hunt. Do you think a cheetah chasing its prey is less likely to sustain an injury running over rough grasslands than a greyhound running on a carefully maintained sand surface, free of any potholes, stones ,roots etc. I have no problem on your opinion but \i think you should think it through more carefully.

  • how the hell do thay git a way whith it is soooo sad and all ppl that hit and staverd and kill them go to HELL YOU FUCKING ASS HOLES and all the ppl that say that greyhound are not the most abused you can go to hell to God did not give us dogs cats (ECT) to kill !!!! fight for the GREYHOUND!!!!!!!! AND ALL THE REST OF THEM thank you ps : good vid but i wus sad at the bad pic but it true ):

  • ur an idiot! stop ranting and talk facts

  • stop the killing of greyhounds! good job!

  • NO SANE PERSON LIKES ABUSE OF ANY ANIMAL. However, it is wrong to taint a sport which has a lot of regulations to try an ensure that abuse and neglect doesn't happen. look at it this way ... if the people who wished to ban racing got their way and it was banned what does this create ..... A BLACK MARKET. more dogs would get abused injured or even in-humanly killed. Leave it in a regulated space and although nobody can stop all abuse it is minimized.

  • the vast majority of racing greyhounds are well looked after unfortunately there is always a few exceptions i have a few greyhounds racing in Ireland and they are well looked after like the VAST majority are Greyhounds are no more mis treated than any other breed of dog

  • imamouse12: Show me a greyhound that truly enjoys the risks of injuries and the wear and tear on their bodies from years of racing. Using animals (racing horses, fighting pitbulls, circus animals) against their natural will for our sheer entertainment is called EXPLOITATION. Take off the blindfold and live in TRUTH.

  • sh97;i'll have no prob showing u greyhounds who enjoy racing have 4 myself who love racing u would only have 2 c them when they r taken to track 2 realise this... as for using them "against their natural will" r u trying 2 tell me it is not natural 4 a GREYHOUND 2 HUNT??? It COMES very naturally 2 them hence the name greyHOUND??? U R entitled 2 ur opinion but take off the blinkers!!!

  • :D Have a nice then. I can't persuade you- obviously. I agree to disagree. We have to consider where we draw the line. with racing, there's vigorous training, pressure to perform to an expected standard, and there's a risk of injury. Many greyhounds are abandoned and/or euthanised after their trainers observe that their 'past their prime'. I hope you continue to provide them with love, respect, and protection.

  • But if you ask me, putting them on the racing track is hardly protection.

  • here in ireland we have a gr8 re-homing system in place with a percentage of all winning prize going 2 "The Retired Greyhounds Trust" as for vigorous training Greyhounds love plenty of exercise it keeps them alive and alert plus theres no pressure on a greyhound to perform they dont no whether they won or not all they r doing is hunting the lure! obviously there is risk of injury as there is in playing football but i still play it cause I LOVE IT!

  • sh97 i hope u can draw some comfort from knowing that there are a lot of Greyhounds who are both well looked after and loved!

  • bluesdad46 dont no where the videos come from do u??? def NOT ireland where do u get your stats from to say that they are the 2nd most abused dog in the world also how do u no that the majority of grehound breederd are not responsible just because u rescued 1 who had scars also if "greyhounds love to run for their joy" and people like myself love watching them run why do u have a problem with it

  • Thats the most stupid argument yet " The Mighty Celt" is a totally fictious film i saw 101 DALMATIONS so I suppose they are bred so that people can make coats out of their fur...

  • how could ypou do that to a poor dog ? what has it ever done rong ? it might have losted race's but i dunt mean that you have to kill them..

  • Many people stop us when we are walking our 2 rescued greyhounds and ask us if we know how they were treated on the track. I honestly don't know but I'm not so foolish as to think they are all treated well. That being said, thank you for this video. I cried, of course, but also gave my greys some extra hugs and attention after viewing it.

  • People will mistreat animals, racing or no racing. You can't single out the racing industry. Go pick on circus's or something. They are worse.

I am in Australia and I believe the industry is clean and cases of cruelty are rare these days. There is a solid greyhound adoption program.

  • from what I've seen in America in 2006 the industry is not clean. I do not doubt that there are good tracks. I also agree that circus's are terrible but I've seen this cruelty in person. it's like if you go to Kenya and see a man killed for an inadequate reason then complain about health conditions in Burma.

  • that is so sad i think greyhounds are like the best dogs in the world.....

  • Greyhounds are born runners! If u've ever bin 2a racing kennel u wud see wen theyre put out in their pens they run rund like mad! racin is jus exciting excercise 4 th dogs. I agree tht sum owners hu race dogs cant afford the vet bills when it breaks a leg or foot nd they ave them put down when its a simple repair. But most of the greyhounds get nice warm homes when they retire. As for teh cages, you want to give up your house for all 100 dogs? protest at a zoo if you dont like caging animals.

  • i have an x racer myself...her condition was appauling!!!!!! what do they do with the money they get when they win???? cant pay vets feees???? get a life this sport is disgusting.....maybe you would like to be treated this way??????

  • Learn how to spell before you post such a display of ignorance.

  • Lack of spelling does not make the message one of "ignorance".

We have a poo-pom and just adopted a Grey, I can tell you that these are the coolest dogs with the kindest spirts...

So listen to the massage and don't worry about the words

  • if you ban the sport all the dog's will be put down because the govment will not put back any money they make to suppourt the sport. most greyhound trainer and there staff love these dog's and it's the anti greyhound mob that cause the prodlems by makeing up vid's like this that are 10 years out of date .

would be nice if you could get the facts right befor slating a hole sport to make a rep for your self as a homer

  • racing greyhounds are using the dogz for money

  • i did not like this vid (not in a mean way) its just i love this breed and i hate any sort of animal crulty.

  • i have litterally only just adopted a greyhound, he's 3 years old and was retired as he tore his leg muscles. he has scars all over the back half of his body, it makes me so sad to think that these things still happen. he's so chilled out and i beg other people to seriously consider a rescued grey :)

  • So cruel, iv'e got a greyhound who was racing.

  • Although this type of Greyhound killing may not be as prevalent as it was in the past it still does happen. The dog racing industry has a stranglehold on the breed. To them Greyhounds are only about money. They over breed the dogs in a never ending quest for the "fastest" dogs. These issues would dwindle dramatically if dog racing was banned. Don't kid yourselves.....money talks and slower dogs die in this business. Racing needs to be banned.

  • DANGER WILL ROBINSON!

If you adopt a retired racer you will be surprised to learn that neutered greys still reproduce! I know from experience: I now have five of them.

  • In response 2 ur "UPDATE" 10,000 killed each year it used to be 40,000! The tracks ARE working w/rescue 2 get many adopted. Racing has come a long way & it's slowly coming to an end. Ppl need to educate themselves b4 posting this stuff. Some of the pics in the video I saw 10 yrs ago. I know you have good intentions but this isn't 100% of the truth today. I have 4 adopted greys and work w/grey rescues in 2 states & I am fostering 3!

  • This video brought tears to my eyes! I have two beautiful retired Racing Greyhounds, Rlms Asa (Asa) and Kay V Swiftlight (Kaylee). Both were rescued by Greyhound Pets of America. I thank god everyday that my babies were rescued as both were considered "non winners" by their owners. Asa hated racing and was given up after only 32 races, Kaylee was tossed aside after breaking her leg during a race. Please do your part! Adopt a rescue and help to stop animal racing!!! There are no winners in it!!

  • i own 2 greyhounds and a whippet uhm they r retired greyhounds so i dont think they kill them anymore bcuz mine wudve been dead too and they rnt so =] thats a good thing

  • The places where these pictures were taken from I hope are long gone and forgotten or at least cleaned up their act because its put a real shame on them now.

I've never owned a greyhound but would love to adopt one, but everytime theres an adoption secton in our local papers it has over half full of greyhounds needing homes from being taken away from race tracks, which in fact I find horrid to start with.

  • Of course it happens at some farms...

  • I would like to say 1st of all this doesnt a happen at all greyhound farms. I worked for one prior to taking an Animal control officer job. I have 2 greyhounds & they are very good dogs. Not all farms beat the dogs, and abuse or kill them. The greyhound farm I was working on adopted out the dogs that rescues will come and get. I know there are places that abuse the dogs, but most of them aren't even on a farm,so think about the dog down the street that your neighbor may be abusing or neglecting.

  • me and my friend wish we could sew u guys for the bad treatment of gray hounds!!!!!!!!!!

    poor dogs !!!!!!!

  • I never new that racing was so horific, i've got a whippet and i wouldn't like any of that to happen to him.

Thanks for opening my eyes to the real side of greyhound racing.

  • It is true that some greyhounds are tortured, but it is also true that some greyhounds find loving homes! So please, before yo uenter a comment, try to read up, and understand more about it! And please! If there is a center near you, try to help these animals! Thank you and God Bless!

  • Another bleeding heart anti pumps out another pack of lies.

  • its true, your just mad your moms a cum guzzling gutter slut.

  • Once again as I watched this video my heart cried out to stop this barbaric "sport" thank you from my heart for your efforts to end this destruction of one of God's creatures. Beth

  • Thank you for telling the truth about racing of the greys. It is a terrible "sport" which needs to be banned.

  • you know, the sport isnt evil, its just some people that run it.

  • actually greyhound tracks are making many advances in decreasing greyhound deaths and increasing adoption.......

before you make greyhound racing look so bad with your video you should make it known that greyhound race tracks are dedicated to adoption programs and aren't the assholes you cray people make them out to be

ps. learn how to spell grafic is spelt graphic dumbass

  • ...how silly...learn how to spell yourself, JB. Crazy, not "cray" and there is no such word as "spelt". It's "spelled"...but, all that aside, please do more research. The tracks are an automatic death sentence for the majority of greyhounds. Some by culling (killing at birth), some while racing, some when they're deemed poor runners. Sadly, a very select few are adopted. Track economics just flatly discourage it. Try laying in a crate for 20 hrs. a day. That's just for starters!

  • This video is Horrific.

  • i agee its terriable wat sum ppl do but i always have pups and they need fast n competitive exercise wen they r young so the way 2 go is flaping tracks so the owner from a pup can race them or let them have a fun run if it waz funnded instead of having 2 make a profit u cud do away with bookies just like whipet racing so i think more shuld b raised 4 this then u wudnt have 2 rehome dogs there is only 2 of these tracks left out of 90 n they r 200 mls from me n u cnt let a young dog of on the park

  • Does anyone know if Greyhounds can run long distances? I want to get one and I am a long distance runner 25-100+ kms. I was thinking of getting a greyhound for companionship on some of the shorter runs.

Oh and to the creator of the video...learn to SPELL! Jesus!

  • yes, greyhounds have incredable stamina with a bit of training. but dont over work them, they cant tell you when they're tired and they'll keep going which for an older dog could cause a heart attack. and is it nessasary to be so critical about my spelling?

  • Hey buddy why dont you go for one of your 100km runs (bullshit) with no shoes on. This is what it would be like for ANY animal. They are not machines.

And yes this person is having a hard time spelling lol also having a hard time trying to find greyhound photo's because i am certain a few of those pics were whippets and not greyhounds.

  • This is the wrong dog for you - greyhounds are sprinters (a race last 30 seconds). They've already been forced to run on demand and many retired hound could care less about running ever again.

  • this is a great video but come man.... SPELL CHECK.

  • I have a rescued greyhound. She was kept in an unlit shed and was going to be shot. That was over a year ago. She has a glossy coat not is playful and happy and is a wonderful pet, although cant let her near smaller dogs or cats!! There is no excuse for cruelty and lets just hope that the saying what goes around comes around does happen to the cruel breeders, I know not all breeders are evil.

  • greyhound racing isn't always cruel, it all depends on who's breeding them my grandpa was a greyhound farmer and raced his greys. his greys were pampered and spoiled his retired greys became family pets or breeders and he never killed any greyhound once. they all lived in an air conditioned Paddock with a huge fenced in yard for them to run. and he had 5 different paddocks with yards that held up to 10+ greys each.

  • yes I know, not all of them are treated badly. but some must for 10,000 still die a year in the us.

  • ya i agree but a lot of greyhound business treat their greyhounds awful!

  • hehe. HERPgirl? like, like herpES?

  • How could ppl do this to such a creature that sweet

  • You won't be disappointed if you adopt a greyhound. They are the most gentle and loving dogs. I love my two more than most people I know.

  • god bless greyhounds!! they are such sweat animals

  • ignorance......... learn how to spell and educate yourself

  • I worked at the Hollywood Greyhound Track in Florida. Lots of these dogs are abused and suffer humiliating deaths. They try to find some good homes for most, but good homes, as for all animals, are not easy to find. The video was good.. The first half made me happy. The second, quite sad. I have 3 large dogs at my side now. One on my bed and two at my feet. Nuff said!

  • man, what fuckin sick country are you coming from???

thats not the way they are treated here in Sweden at least..

  • its called america dude.. they think they're the best.. they suck balls if you ask me.... well the mean ones atleast

  • why do you think that? actually a lot of greyhound racing happens in the UK im not from America but come on... they do not think that

  • the only dog racing ive ever seen was when i was young in the states and some lady offered my dad her greyhounds but he said no cuz he didnt want a dog at the time. america is a great place but i hate the "american attitude" sometimes.. all american... all army... did you see spider man 3? you no at the end when spidey jumps in with the BIG american flag behind him. that explains how good some of them think they are. i dotn hate americans. i just hate douchebags, moslty the ones who hurt animals

  • Actually, the vast majority of dog racing is in Australia. It's illegal in most of the states of America. You know why? Because most of us over here in America CARE. ^.^

  • Please do not tar ALL Greyhound owners/breeders with the same brush. The vast majority LOVE THEIR DOGS! A visit to a kennel on a sunday morning in mid winter would show you just how devoted we are. Oh I forgot...that isnt a shocking headline is it? oops...

  • no this vid is about greyhound racing which is REALLY cruel

  • I work in a correctional insitution where

the prisoners are rehabilitating Grey Hounds , and human society dogs . They are beautiful animals , but most are not trusting , but are learning. I never watched a dog race , I had No idea what was happening to them.

I'll make sure to pet them all.

  • Most of those graphic pictures are from the abused Galgos (Spanish Greyhounds). The pictures of the hanged dogs, for example; also the large "corral" full of unmuzzled dogs. I know because I personally know people involved with Galgo rescue.

There ARE bad people in the industry, but there are also many many good people who love their dogs as family.

Using those pictures from Spain was a cheap shot, and very inaccurate.

  • There is absolutely nothing wrong with dog racing. The only bad part about it is that there are a FEW people who abuse their dogs. You are retarded if you think the sport is bad.terrible music.

  • well not a few people are bad to their dogs. more then a few. I mean if there many abused dogs in houses to rehabilitating well I think there are a lot or man that abuse there dog

  • prettty crappy music for this

  • yep

  • but isnt this your video my good sir?

  • shut the fuck up

  • At least give them a warriors death. ITS HORRIBLE!!!! I mean... i WOULD NEVER Kill an animal... but if i HAD to, I would at least cut its... well... you know.

  • Hi, this is electrocutie from myspace. You wrote my in box. I can't reply to you on there because of your age but I wanted to say thanks for posting this video. I try to do my part when it comes to greyhound abuse. I also have an adopted greyhound. I have pictures of him on my profile.

  • The sport of greyhound racing isn't as bad as described in this video. I can't speak for all greyhound tracks in the US, but the treatment you describe in this video is strictly forbidden in West Virginia (where I live).

Unfortunately, as in every sport, you have the bad apples. In WV the bad ones are severely punished. The STATE regulates greyhound racing in WV, not the tracks themselves.

I worked in greyhound racing as a handler. I can say first hand, this treatment doesn't happen here.

  • well mainly in states like FL the crime rate is higher so you can expect miss treatment most southern tracks. and I'm not saying that all tracks are bad but a lot are. in other European contrys there are little or so laws against greyhound abuse.

  • oh for god sakes im 13 and i know that most of this video is true your just ashamed to admitt it . they have got are facts right(greyhound rescue) as they see many cases of such cruelty each year so next time dont be such a stuck up and pathetic person who obviosly doesnt have any feelings for what theve gone through

i know there are many amazing dog trainers out there but just those few can do so much harm so lets open our eyes

  • ***CROCK OF SHIT ALERT!!!***

These images and hysterical rhetoric MAY have had some validity 25 years ago, but since the advent of VERY strict controls, the VAST majority of racing hounds are extremely well cared for, well loved and appreciated.

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU MAKE SUCH UNFOUNDED ACCUSATIONS!!

PS: "That's" requires an apostrophe, and "there" denotes location, NOT plural possessive. The correct word is "their." People who cannot use their own language aren't credible.

  • woah woah woah slow down there. 1st NGA keeps track of places and any place found not up to standards is thrown out. 2nd, media has got you wrapped around its finger. You hear what they want you to hear. Of course you only hear about the tracks doing bad things like starving their animals..it makes a story! Its the same with Pit Bulls! They aren't vicious but most people think they are because of media. Why would you listen to someone who lies to you so much? Most breeders LOVE their dogs.

  • yes yes yes, but seriously, do u think a good life is being locked in a cage and only let out to feed and go to the bathroom for days at a time?

  • How can you say the maroity do this have you facts to back this up have you been to the majority of kennels i doubt it very much. And as far as them been locked up in "CAGES" for days on end thats just WRONG yet another fact you wouldnt be able to back up.Me like most g-hound people walk my dogs 3 to 4 times daily its apart of the training to get them used to people sites and sounds please dont post comments you have no facts about. You know as well as i do it hearsay and arms and legs onto storys

  • The people who do this to greyhounds are a minority not a majority i keep greyhound and i look after them as well as myself ye people only want to see the bad side of things in every sport there is bad people and should be throw out on there heads,Ye have nothing better to do with yourselfs if ye came to a well run kennel you would see my point so dont judge everyone all the same open your eyes and your minds..Dont tar us all with the one brush & dont judge till you know the facts

  • not all kenels are bad, some give the dogs a really nice life. but the magoraty of the kennels are crule. most of them leve the dogs in cages for days at a time except to go to the bathroom.

  • omg i cried when i saw this video...my greyhound JACK died december 06 of bone cancer. he was an X racer and we rescued him. all i knew about his racing career was his name....CHEIF, and that he raced longer then usaul. i wish more people would adopt a greyhound!!!

  • need to find that "special one" which could be 1 out of 100..it's very hard to find homes for the excess 99..and that's why so many get put down..it's also expencive to put that many down humainly and that's why they resort to not so nice extermination of them if they didn't overbreed them then there wouldn't be this problemb..getting rid of the sport completely would result in even more death,

  • i have an Ex racer and he still has nightmares, when we first got him he used to scream in his sleep he also clickes when he walks and has alot of scars..he has massive scar on his back legs he has dog bites on his haunches.he has what looks like burn marks and he is very nervy around older men in flat caps.there are good trainers and they make sure that the older Dogs get good homes.there are also alot of bad ones..the major problemb is over breeding..breeders breeding alot more dogs than they

  • Your facts are wrong, your spelling is atrocious and your music is awful.

  • ive worked in the greyhound racing industy in england and ireland and have never seen anythong like this. half of the pictures are of greyhounds in travel cages which are the size they are for their own SAFETY. And the issue with dogs being hung is a SPANISH ISSUR NOT AN ENGLISH OR IRISH ISSUE. so get a life, grow up, stop trying to ruin peoples lifes, and only source of income in some cases.

  • my greyhounds rehome and who say it right.

you should think of this my dog was lucky

he got away. so go to hell with dog racing

  • show horse chick shut your stupid mouth i train greyhounds and the slow ones all get good homes they are not tossed out so dont generalize and get a life bitch

  • show horse chick shut your stupid mouth i train greyhounds and the slow ones all get good homes they are not tossed out so dont generalize and get a life bitch

  • Where did you get your facts about greyhound racing? Have you any experience in the racing industry?

  • i <3 love animals especially dogs as i have to gawjus dogs of my own (not greyhounds). greyhounds i think are adourable.

greyhound racing - im 14 and only just rlly thwt about ths a couple of days ago. with the racing i think the dogs are ok with it or they probs wldnt run, u cnt force a dog to do summing they dnt wanna. i think the dogs are treated well until they actually loose a race.

i totally disagree with killin, harmin, or hangin the dogs if they loose. reply?? x

  • I love greyhounds, heck I love all animals.. animal abuse is wrong and its sad because the number is actually about 60,000 now for the number of killed greyhounds.. I have worked in a shelter and I know about animal abuse and health problems, most animals that came in were unhealthy and the people didn't care. Its sad.. I hope that more greyhounds can find homes instead of recieve the fate that so many do.

  • what do these random pictures have to do with greyhound racing

they don't seem to be being mistreated here!

  • Did you even watch the whole video?

  • Yeah I did, I'm just not stupid like you!

  • I find this "sport"cruel. But I don't see EVERY race abusing greyhounds like that. Only a few, but a few is to many. I wish I could sit down and talk with an animal absuer... I don't understand how people can do such a thing! Many greyhounds love to run but not when they are forced too. This video has opened many peoples eyes. Thank you for posting it. Have any of you been to a kennel? I can't understand how you could work there. Watching dogs run in a limited area, cruel. Anyways thank you!

  • This is a disgusting spectacle not a sport, where the "unsuccesful" runners are tossed out like garbage. How could anyone with any compassion support this??? These are wonderful dogs.

  • wow a lot of these comments are so smart... for a retaard i work at a greyhound kennel ive been there for a year and i dont remember ever recieving a healthy greyhound.yeah sport? would you like to be kept inna cage and have a muzzle over your face the one time you get out is to run inna circle....nothing cruel bout that right its just a sport .... anyone who thinks watchin dogs run inna circle is fun is dumber than the dogs themselves

  • Dumb cunt! it's people like you who ruin a great sport, some of those pics are very cruel, most of them aren't, you obviously are like the uneducated masses, no idea at ALL!

  • wow dumbass thier not talking about all dog races are like this ... faggots -.-

  • yoface978...you seem very intelligent. However, I'm sure this degree of cruelty does not happen at all tracks..even if it is just a few, it's a few too many.

  • if i ever seen some one kill a animal i would hunt them down and kill every one in there family that kills animals to...

  • wow, i really wish i could run into someone that treated any animal that way. Guaranteed i would send them to the hospital . so if you know any in new york, let me know, and ill beat their ass.

  • yes i know some the peta staff who destroyed surplus pets how about them for a start

  • Whether this happened in Spain or elsewhere; whether these are greyhounds or galgos; whether or not you can spell; the fact remains that these are pictures of atrocities that should not have happened to any dog, not even once, period.

  • Greyhound rescue groups are great for what they do. Unfortunately the tracks are where they are right now. When the tracks shut down, though, where are the dogs going to come from? They won't be rescues anymore, will they go extinct?

I'm sorry I have to ask, why are there so many spelling mistakes in your video? Creacher? Are you not an English native speaker?

  • I can't believe some of you people who say that racing greyhounds is OK. I tell you what, take a walk to the Tuscon track. Then come back not heartbroken and spin the same crap.

  • But the Greyhound wasn't meant to run around in a circle for human pleasure. They were the pets of royals and kings.

People who rescue (like myself) would always find a way to rehome animals. We are used to cleaning up what other people treat as garbage.

The Greyhound doesn't need a track to survive. It's like saying that since people no longer eat dog meat, then we shouldn't have Chow Chows (if you look up the history of that breed, they were used as food at one time).

  • Dont tar everyone by the same brush is what I am trying to say. This breed of dog survives because it still does what it is good at sprinting to catch a hare. Now their is no coursing any more this is the only form of sport the greyhound has left. They race because they love it, my ex-racer here still runs round the garden like a nutter. She just loves speed. If you took the tracks away then you would destroy a breed overnight. How would you re-home all them then retired dogs.

  • Rubbish the greyhounds I own live a long ad FULL life. Daisie here is currently lying on my old duvet has good food and lives in same house with my kids. Greyhounds are good family/pack dogs and do not take any adjustment from racing. Daisie ran over 80 races every time she got to the track she started barking just wanting to get out their and chase. Now retired she is older and not as fast just like humans when they get past their prime. She just likes her good walks warm bed and good food.

  • thats awsome =] i have greyhounds that used to race too and they are happy, old and retired :D they still love a good run in the fields now! and they were NEVER miss treated!!! =]

  • This is complete rubbish.

For a start read some of your slides, you cannot even spell!

    I will say no more

  • i agree i hate every one who would put there greyhound through this pain

  • i have a greyhound, and she was one of the best racers in florida. they still treated her like crap and all the people who make these races happen should all go to hell!!!!!

  • YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT IN THE VID! It may be the truth in America but not definitely in Europe or Australia. I have 5 racing greyhounds and I have worked in greyhound kennels. So I know the real truth about it.

  • Exactly! Australian Greyhound Racing isnt anything like that.

  • i cant stop crying! how can those bastards be so cruel! i have a greyhound which we rescued and he is such a loving dog. he only needs two to three 20 minuite walks per day!

greyhounds deserve betta so stop being cruel to them:-(

  • those people who do that should rot in HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Touching movie. I have a greyhound mix myself so its heartbreaking to see. However, one thing. You've got a bunch of grammatical errors in your text (to instead of too, misspelling of assassinated). It makes what's otherwise a wonderful piece look sloppy and hastily put together. If you want to really get the message across, please be a little more careful with the grammar. Great piece otherwise.

  • I aopted a greyhound. My dog is wonderful but your spelling is terrible!

  • i also owned two greyhouds and it sounds like i am contradicting the vid a little but my faster retired grey was a lot more timid than my slower grey, ok maybe this could have just been there personality.

  • that is exactly what it is its like people we have different personalities
