Wow, what a song...tunes like this are part of the soundtrack of my youth....thanks for posting....great stuff! Do you think the realized when they were 22 years old they were recording history?
This is what real classic music is, and reminds you that there was music back then too, my dad played this song was very young all the time, and when i heard it again, i still remembered every word
I'm class of '71 too. I was in my dorm when I heard "Three Roses" and I remember thinking the room didn't seem so cold and clinical anymore, but warm and inviting, as if a fire glowing in a fireplace was lighting the room. Suddenly I was gripped with an intense desire to play an acoustic guitar!
One of my all time favorites. I remember waking up to this song as my brother blarred it from his QUAD speakers every morn. Thanks Excellent acoustics!
I bought this album for "Three Roses". All my friend bought this album for "Horse with No Name". I was a teenager living in Kailua Hawaii. When I would hear it on the am station I loved it, But when I would hear it on the FM station................ Loved Danny Peek. Saw them in concert..... tried my best to learn the rift of this song and pick through the end of the song on my guitar. I still love this song as much today as I did then
@sticklegs2004 Me, too, while everyone else bought it for the popular song, I escaped on the serendipity of an accustic guitar and wings of devine harmony.
@sticklegs2004 Me, too, (again). I'm getting married next year and asked my husband-to-be, who's played guitar and bass for 43 years, to learn it on accustic guitar and sing it to me at our reception. I can't wait!! What a neat way to celebrate our union!
One person disliked this? What planet are they from? Or perhaps they think they'll become notoriously famous as the only person in the world that is capable of disliking this song. You know some people will do anything for attention. Was that you, Miss Anthony?
@dan7dees Yeah, some people (you) will do anything for attention, like commenting on the number of dislikes of the video, hoping to reach top comments. So unoriginal
wow...have been waiting for the LP version. Still remember the first time I heard this song with Charlotte at her sisters. Thought I'd died and gone to Heaven. Bought the 8-track for the trek across MO, AR, LA and TX in my green VW Bug with my best friend, Kathy. We played it so much, we broke the tape and had to buy a new one, 'cause we couldn't finish the trip without America and Three Roses!! Thanks for posting one of my best times in life--beginning in '71--40 years ago (class of '71)
@dlynnatkinson Hi! You too, with a VW Bug! I still have a '72, I remember hearing this number, and music of this quality on a weekly basis back in the '70's. It was a great decade for music and for growing up. Thank you for the post!
@74bshs Wow, to still have a '72 Beetle Bug VW is amazing. Weren't we the fortunate ones for having lived through the 70s when music was at its best, with this song at the penacle. See you on the road of life.
@dlynnatkinson America! Such an awesome group! I graduated in 73, America always one of my fav bands, something so special about them! This is on e of my fav songs of theirs.... RIP Dan Peeks
@able506 I agree. In many ways it really is the quintessential America song - the breezy acoustic guitars, their lush signature harmonies.... I just love it :)
I love this blast from the past!!

@bassmanjoe And no wonder, America's producer was none other than the great George Martin! The Beatles George Martin.
