Deidre, this is what I think: Our Australian Medical Bodies are still operating from a male paradigm that is ancient in its thinking. Despite all the female doctors they put on the board, the thinking has not changed since 100 years ago. The doctors have the advice of their insurer's legal eagles in complaint cases, and the boards are "supposed' to protect the public but they are too afraid of the doctor's insurers! It is going to take a few men to lose penises at the hands of cosmetic surgeons!
