@SuperMrBentley The Saturn was supposed to have the first fully 3D (as opposed to the isometric "3D" in Sonic 3D) Sonic title called Sonic Xtreme (which started life as a Mega Drive game then 32X game before moving to the Saturn) but it went through development hell and was cancelled in '97 and replaced with a Sonic 3D port and a compilation of the Mega Drive Sonic titles entitled Sonic Jam. Sonic Adventure is completely separate and was designed specifically for the Dreamcast.

I prefer Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 over Sonic Adventure DX (or something) and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle because of the nastolgia that it provides (and much more). But also, the other 2 were kinda proof that Nintendo bought out Sega. They "Nintendo proofed" the games by taking out any sega/Dreamcast advertisements in game. Ex: City Escape. That's just about the time when Sonic whent down the pooper. :'(

@1990babyface Because, by the time those came out, Sega was out of the console buisiness. They ported those two titles over to the Gamecube so people who didn't get a Dreamcast could enjoy them.

I sure as heck didn't (and still don't) have a Dreamcast, so I would never have gotten to play the Adventure games if they hadn't done that.

@1990babyface When the Dreamcast came out in the US, that was the school year that I got both a N64 and a Playstation within a matter of months. By the time I had any remote interest/money for getting a Dreamcast, the system had already been discontinued and 95% of the games I would've initially wanted for it had already been ported over to other systems.

Very recently, I had the choice between getting a Saturn or a DC, and I went with the Saturn for various similar reasons.

I decided on it over the Dreamcast for various reasons, mainly the must larger percentage of great games that weren't ported/had lousy ports. I also have a soft spot for the 32/64 bit generation, since that's when I entered gaming.

I still want a Dreamcast, but I'll hold off for another year or so. The prices on it might go down even more once PSN/XBLA get Dreamcast games, and that's when I shall strike.

The Chaos Emerald cutscene was never in the game. It was just a render. And when Sonic and Tails were walking at the pool area, no umbrellas or scenery was there. And if you pause at 0:18, Tails is standing in an unknown area of Beta Windy Valley.
