@tikitwang Thank you and yes I couldn't agree with you more about playing through an overdriven low powered amp with this guitar, the tone comes alive.

Sorry my friend. The switch takes time, it is not as fast as say a Tele. Most of the time when I'm playing the Mod I am using the bridge and middle pickup position or the neck and the bridge together. If you are used to switching from lead to rhythm position often during a song then you may find making the switch on the mod more cumbersome. The switch does work great and neither of my two mods have any issues with it.
@Vchuster WOW sorry...have not checked back in awhile. Yes it can be a problem in the middle of a song. It is cumbersome but with practice its not bad. Still not as easy as a strat , tele , paul etc... I usually use this guitar in one position only and rely on my effects pedal for volume.
Great demo. But I'm just curious: how would you honestly rate this guitar in terms of quality? Does it stay in tune reliably? Intonate well? In your hands, it sounds impressive indeed, but I have to be honest: I've yet to come across a Danelectro- of any model- that is even close to reliable in terms of tuning. The bottom line: Is this a good, solid guitar, or simply a decent guitar for the money?
Great comments and questions. The two Mod 6's I have are solid guitars. The necks are excellent and both stay in intonation. The tuners are great and stay in tune consistently . The frets on both guitars are great as well. These guitars are a step up from my DC-3 and Pro. They are in regular rotation in my line up.
Well, given your comments, and fine performance, I'd love to get my hands on one. However, it seems that is easier said than done; they are pretty hard to track down. Just my luck.
Hang in there, I looked for 2 years with no luck and then all of a sudden two mint guitars came up within a month. I have seen others as well in the last 6 months...your luck will turn. Let us all know when you find one.
@clamgrower1 Well, I know it's been a while, but after a long search, I finally scored: my Mod 6 (the white/ivory finish with red- ish pickguard) arrives sometime early next week. I hope it sounds-- and performs-- as well as your guitar seems to.
@clamgrower1 Well, you couldn't have been more right. My mod 6 is flawless and works beautifully--- truthfully, it's unlike any other Danelectro I've ever played, the bulk of which seemed troublesome at best and awful at worst. And like you, I think I'll keep my eyes peeled for another.
I've got a mod 6, it's a really great guitar! I wish I had an AMP so I could try the stuff you did! but I'll definetly reference to this in the future!
have you modified it? if so , what? I'd like mine to be louder like my 69 mustang but ....I actually used mine in my punk band through a fendr stage II lead and it sounded like i was tryin to make a week sound strong . Any recomendations?
Look into GFS pickups. GFS makes a series of lipsticks that will fit Dano's and also a smaller pickup that will fit into strats. You can order a hotter set of pickups from GFS and that will probably help. Do a search for GFS and I am sure you will find them.
Here's the deal. When I purchase the first mod 6 I had to pour through a bunch of cases at the local music shop. It turned out that one case, a used Ibanez case fit the guitar perfectly. WIth this new Mod 6 I again had to go through a bunch of cases and the one that worked the best was a guardian case designed for acoustics. This is a tough guitar to find a case for. Good luck .
I imagine (in my dreams :-)) a Hodad 12 string or DC 12 with the "Select-o-Matic" roto-switch. Maybe could be an interesting new Danelectro set up for most versatile Jangly sound. Congratulation for you play, sounds and Danos.
great demo, thanks. I have a Mod as well. it's a great guitar and seems to work really well through an overdriven low-powered amp.
