Those wild animals can turn on a person in a second for no apparent reason. Think about Siegfried and Roy. I've seen house cats that were pets for years suddenly get pissed off for no reason and bite or claw people.

@horseman528 Treating an animal like a pet is very different from treating it like a friend. Paraphrase from kevin --> There is a huge difference between being tolerated by an animal and being accepted by an animal. Plus, although I don't really want to get into this arguement again, Roy's tiger did not attack him... it was trying to pull him away from a crowd member that freaked him out. The problem was Roy didn't play rough with his cats and thus they didn't know how weak a human is.

@dilan4me That's not always true. Sometimes completely wild cats might if the scent is wrong because they don't have many ways of telling them apart. They may return to find that their young smell like someone else's and come to the conclusion that they aren't hers.

One you heard in this video, another one is when another male lion of lower ranking challenges the highest ranking male, and if the lower ranking wins and takes its place, it'll kill the cubs of the previous male cause it doesn't want its genes in the Pride anymore.

@xBurzurkurx Sort of.. It kills the cubs of the previously higher ranking male because it needs all of the females to fall back into estrus. In the wild, pride leaders aren't around for very long... generally speaking. So the idea of watching after someone else's cubs THEN raising your own isn't benfital to that lower ranking male that just took over. He'll end up with nothing. Also, if he just boots the cubs out of the pride then the mothers will follow them. Pride takeovers aren't that common.

Instead of challenging her, Kevin just played with other hyenas and she eventually accepted him. So technically, the only hyena he'd be attacked by would be Uno, but he's careful around her since he's technically lower ranking in the clan.

@davian3376 actually, a tiger is much easier to train than a male lion. male lions have stronger guarding and protecting instincts than tigers do. most ppl think male lions sleep all day while the females hunt. female lions do 87% of the hunting, but male lions are responsible for protecting the family from intruders. so male lions r alot more tempermental than tigers because they constantly have to protect their cubs from strange males.
