By your own comparison, the information on the web has the same value as the US dollar. Subject to the attitudes of the day. That, and potentially the same influence on human interaction.
The one thing I find to be true about AI is that it is artificial. It still needs AcI (Actual Intelligence) to guide it, if the product is something desired. And that seems to be the key, doesn't it? So far, the only drive that AI can muster, if it can even be called that, is to run the program. AcI provides the desire. Interesting video.
I always thought it was funny how the person who made this video thought, "Whoa, awesome, radical! Yeah! The future is now! Yippeeeee!" when the message actually, to me, comes across as completely mortifying and wrong. Delusional as well.
well from you previous comment id say your both shallow and an asshole because telling your "friends" you just watched half of there video and saying it was pointless is a pretty dick thing to say.
very cool i was thinking the other day we seem to becoming more joined together but now i'm not so sure, people are thinking more organically that is intelligent people and medicine seems to be doing so to but this is still a cool video well done.
The machine uses us, just as we use the machine. In time this mutual exploitation will blur the line between user and used, between controller and controlled, between man and machine; this is the essence of transhumanity. It is the end of 'human', it is the end of 'machine', it is both our end and our beginning. No long man, no longer machine, but instead a new symbiosis of our mutual design. It is telescopic evolution... and it is inevitable.
Due to our intellect man is able to use machines to compensate for our weaknesses, as artifical intelligence advances it too is developing the intellect needed to use man to compensate for it's own weaknesses. As such there are two possible outcomes; either these two seperate intellects will find a way to become mutually supportive (aka tranhumanism) or they will come into direct conflict (ludditism/cyber revolt).
That's because the Matrix is a cyberpunk story, the vast majority of cyberpunk plays with the ideas of transhumanism. Watch Blade Runner, it's a film about biomachines that become so advanced many of them believe that they really are Human, and how nebulous the idea of 'Humanity' becomes in such a setting.
@popecorkyxxiv Blade Runner is one fuckin awesome movie. I've loved it since I was 8, man. But you should also read the book. Phillip K. Dick wrote it (if you don't know him, that's actually his surname, it's Dick)
Remembering past searches is far from what I'd call 'intellect', and the debate on whether *true* AI is possible leans more towards the negative. From the current stand point of computer science the idea of a 'cyber revolt' is extremely unlikely.
Go online and look up an organization called the Singularity Insitiute, they are a non profit group dedicated to producing a Singularity AI. Comparing a pc's ability to remember a past search to the level of complexity that modern cybernetics has acheived is like comparing a toddler to Einstien. Besides you need to rethink the idea of 'true' AI since as we develop this technology it's becoming very clear that machine intellience is NOTHING like our own.
those that don't live dependently to the web live on a different world...really. (if you don't get what i mean you probably don't even understand the main goal of "the matrix" movies
Technology has always been used for good + bad...and the internet is no different. When one considers that probably 3/4 of the world's population is NOT connected to the web AT ALL, we may want to reconsider the definition of "US" because it mainly refers to those of us already connected ;)
Yes, it makes sense. There are 100 billion neurons in the brain. There are multiple connections between neurons, and this exponetially increases the number of synaptic firings possible. To some degree it creates an adrenaline rush, supplying dopamine to the brain, and inducing a very real chemical addiction to electronics.

The general intelligence needed to keep up with this video, unfortunately, renders this video as preaching to the choir.
One psychological ramification/responsibility of text 'reading' as opposed to 'authoring', is percieved intent and atitude.
The reader is restricted to their own intelligeble perception of the intent/atitude of the author.

I think to much connection is a bad thing.
It breaks down individuality by fusing all together in one homogenous stew.
The will, the freedom, and the individual ability to create is violated.
Where is the humanity of a machine?
Is the machine really our next step forward or our shame as a race of beings?
Does humanity matter at all if the machine steps forward and takes our place?
If the machine is our inheritor and our legacy, then as a species who really are we?
WHO ARE WE?
ARMOROID5000 2 years ago
@ARMOROID5000 Murderers and thieves out of paranoia and greed. That's who we are.
xprincexofxsavagesx 2 years ago
We are human and bound to death.
Humanity exists due to the fear of death and our ability to be emotional about it.
Humanity is not exactly reresented in general nature, it is a bi product of intelligence which is as much a gift as it is a bane.
In evolutionary standards, we are close to thinking ourselves into extinction.

It makes no difference how things are laid down in the background when the public is basically illiterate.
Most people no longer have reading or writing comprehension which in turn dumbs the Internet downwards.
Check out the UK Telegraph under Technology to read how content is being shuffled to the "pay" system.

but seriously webstandards is the only dogma that is of practical use to humanity.
Only by standards and deprication and resisting the urge for extream backwars compatabilaty can we move forward.
And HTML5 poses a serious threat to the semantic web.
Which is heresy..
but it could take some of the importans from flash which would be a blessing...
as flash is totaly unsemantic.
