  • Excellent! Now to post this.... lol

  • The scientist could not figure out what to ask the machine. Then one excited scientist said I got the question.Question is there a God ? The machines answer was there is now.

  • im absolutely certain i post a text comment to this video, but it is gone.

    whats going on?

  • that kicked ass

  • By your own comparison, the information on the web has the same value as the US dollar. Subject to the attitudes of the day. That, and potentially the same influence on human interaction.

Thank you for upsetting my day.

  • Wow, fucking, wow - prot!

Wow, fucking, wow - props to you

Wow, fucking, wow - props to Micheal

Michael, wow - props to us

    good luck to us

    us!

The general intelligence needed to keep up with this video, unfortunately, renders this video as preaching to the choir.

One psychological ramification/responsibility of text 'reading' as opposed to 'authoring', is percieved intent and atitude.

The reader is restricted to their own intelligeble perception of the intent/atitude of the author.

  • it is just a spring clean for the may queen. Satanic music for the satanic forces

  • Wow! Great video! Really well done and written!

  • Thought provoking. Well done.

  • I second that !

  • That was a good job.

  • The one thing I find to be true about AI is that it is artificial. It still needs AcI (Actual Intelligence) to guide it, if the product is something desired. And that seems to be the key, doesn't it? So far, the only drive that AI can muster, if it can even be called that, is to run the program. AcI provides the desire. Interesting video.

  • I think to much connection is a bad thing.

It breaks down individuality by fusing all together in one homogenous stew.

The will, the freedom, and the individual ability to create is violated.

Where is the humanity of a machine?

Is the machine really our next step forward or our shame as a race of beings?

Does humanity matter at all if the machine steps forward and takes our place?

If the machine is our inheritor and our legacy, then as a species who really are we?

    WHO ARE WE?

  • @ARMOROID5000 Murderers and thieves out of paranoia and greed. That's who we are.

  • We are human and bound to death.

Humanity exists due to the fear of death and our ability to be emotional about it.

Humanity is not exactly reresented in general nature, it is a bi product of intelligence which is as much a gift as it is a bane.

In evolutionary standards, we are close to thinking ourselves into extinction.

  • Deep.

  • I always thought it was funny how the person who made this video thought, "Whoa, awesome, radical! Yeah! The future is now! Yippeeeee!" when the message actually, to me, comes across as completely mortifying and wrong. Delusional as well.

  • Cool!

  • The music in this video made me want to commit suicide. Other than that, pretty cool!

  • lol

  • very cool

  • sigh.

that's why I have not linked my stuff all together.. but still it is linked in one way or another I'll bet..

    fucking machine!

  • This would be FUCKING AWESOME if it didn't come from Kansas (you know, the state that thought intelligent design was science...)

  • @dethdakiller0 Really dethkiller? B/c it came from Kansas...Really dethkiller...

  • @fireman12888, Yeah, really. by default i hate anything from Kansas.

  • oh okay

  • tripped me out man.

    5

  • Whats the point? I got bored at 2:00 and by 2:30 hit pause to write this comment, then Back on my brower to find something else.

  • you must be a very deep thinker...

  • I'd rather be shallow than an asshole. The comments I leave here are for my friend who posts the videos, not for pseudo intellectual trolls. Kthxbai

  • well from you previous comment id say your both shallow and an asshole because telling your "friends" you just watched half of there video and saying it was pointless is a pretty dick thing to say.

  • Cool video, I wonder how much of our tax dollars went into creating it.

  • Maybe a few.

But I don't mind. Many more of my tax dollars are being spent killing people. Now THAT pisses me off.

  • Cultural anthropology? HAHA

  • It makes no difference how things are laid down in the background when the public is basically illiterate.

Most people no longer have reading or writing comprehension which in turn dumbs the Internet downwards.

Check out the UK Telegraph under Technology to read how content is being shuffled to the "pay" system.

  • I know i am a bit medieval aboutt these things...

but seriously webstandards is the only dogma that is of practical use to humanity.

Only by standards and deprication and resisting the urge for extream backwars compatabilaty can we move forward.

And HTML5 poses a serious threat to the semantic web.

    Which is heresy..

but it could take some of the importans from flash which would be a blessing...

    as flash is totaly unsemantic.

    And heresy beond forgivness!

  • Blessed is he who hates the standardbreaker!

  • 1:30

Blessed is xslt/xsl for it transforms the sacred language of xml!

Do not commit the heresy of inventing your own template language when XSLT is a supremly mandated language for this very task.

Venerate the sacred standards and conply!

    OR BURN!

  • Also using old html syntax is heresy!

use modern xhtml where all tags must be closed!

    Otherwise your heretic scum!

    And deserves to burn!

  • 1:00

HERESY! one does not code html in upper case!

    BURN HERETIC BURN!

  • Flag for what? being ugly? (I think he's hot)

    Go troll somewhere else.

  • Very cool video, Ed! Thanks for sharing it with us!

  • Pirate Party ftw!

  • very cool i was thinking the other day we seem to becoming more joined together but now i'm not so sure, people are thinking more organically that is intelligent people and medicine seems to be doing so to but this is still a cool video well done.

  • ask woody allan what is love he probably already has made his mind up about it lol

  • RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE! That is all I have to say.

  • The machine uses us, just as we use the machine. In time this mutual exploitation will blur the line between user and used, between controller and controlled, between man and machine; this is the essence of transhumanity. It is the end of 'human', it is the end of 'machine', it is both our end and our beginning. No long man, no longer machine, but instead a new symbiosis of our mutual design. It is telescopic evolution... and it is inevitable.

  • Uses us for what?

  • Due to our intellect man is able to use machines to compensate for our weaknesses, as artifical intelligence advances it too is developing the intellect needed to use man to compensate for it's own weaknesses. As such there are two possible outcomes; either these two seperate intellects will find a way to become mutually supportive (aka tranhumanism) or they will come into direct conflict (ludditism/cyber revolt).

  • @popecorkyxxiv Ah reminds me of the Matrix.

  • That's because the Matrix is a cyberpunk story, the vast majority of cyberpunk plays with the ideas of transhumanism. Watch Blade Runner, it's a film about biomachines that become so advanced many of them believe that they really are Human, and how nebulous the idea of 'Humanity' becomes in such a setting.

  • @popecorkyxxiv Blade Runner is one fuckin awesome movie. I've loved it since I was 8, man. But you should also read the book. Phillip K. Dick wrote it (if you don't know him, that's actually his surname, it's Dick)

  • Remembering past searches is far from what I'd call 'intellect', and the debate on whether *true* AI is possible leans more towards the negative. From the current stand point of computer science the idea of a 'cyber revolt' is extremely unlikely.

  • Go online and look up an organization called the Singularity Insitiute, they are a non profit group dedicated to producing a Singularity AI. Comparing a pc's ability to remember a past search to the level of complexity that modern cybernetics has acheived is like comparing a toddler to Einstien. Besides you need to rethink the idea of 'true' AI since as we develop this technology it's becoming very clear that machine intellience is NOTHING like our own.

  • Any minute now the whole thing will come alive.

  • Omg, this is wonderful.

  • ive knew that ever since i got on it.

the web is destined to become the matrix.

those that don't live dependently to the web live on a different world...really. (if you don't get what i mean you probably don't even understand the main goal of "the matrix" movies

  • Whatever---at the end of the day, the people with great hair get all the perks. I hate them.

  • Actually, we don't get all the perks because people hate us.

  • [seething] I bet your hair looks great right out of the shower!

  • It did before I cut it...now it's boring...at least a cancer patient is getting better use of it now ;)

    LoL (Locks of Love)

  • Hey, Wolf---my nephew (who also has great hair [grrr]) just donated his hair last month for the same cause. Good for both of you!

  • Where do you go to donate hair?

  • Any place can do it...you just need to follow the guidelines and fill out a donation form. All the info. should be at locksoflove(dot)com

  • @ thebendnsnap:

My nephew donated thru the Pantene web site, which links with the American Cancer Society. Wolf, above, donated thru locksoflove, as he stated.

  • So if was the arpanet, and usenet, and bitnet, and fidonet, and uucp. They merged and became internet. Then internet allowed commercial access.

    NOW IT'S THE WEB

But at the center of a web is a spider. A big hungry spider. And as get more caught in the web we awaken the GIANT SPIDER.

    Just food for thought.

  • Welcome to the borg nation. Resistance is futile.

  • Technology has always been used for good + bad...and the internet is no different. When one considers that probably 3/4 of the world's population is NOT connected to the web AT ALL, we may want to reconsider the definition of "US" because it mainly refers to those of us already connected ;)

  • That was good.

  • There are more neuronal connections in the human brain than there are atoms in the whole universe.

Machine is insignificant by comparison, and always will be.

  • That doesn't make any sense

  • Yeah, but you need sufficient neuronal connections to realize that.

  • Yes, it makes sense. There are 100 billion neurons in the brain. There are multiple connections between neurons, and this exponetially increases the number of synaptic firings possible. You need to look it up. Its a fact. The human brain is the most comlpex and sophisticated enitity in the known universe.

  • all true.

i think the most importand thing, or at least the most urgent thing to rethink, is education.

  • So..what would you say to people if you wanted to do something about it?

  • youtube is a cocksucking motherfucker

  • you're speaking a different language than me conspiracy boy. i belong to no labels. i'm just a cat who walks this streets with a pimp lean a gangster glare and a mind full of knowledge and thoughts.

what camp do you belong to?

  • excellent! thought-provoking! I so gotta watch this one again!

  • SHEEP

  • hello fellow COGs. * Waves* =D

  • your master deleted that shit, dude. another 'leader' who censors any opposition. guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

  • Now THAT is a video! :)

  • That's very well done. Good job!

  • Or you can go outside and get some vitamin D every once and a while too. ;P

  • They didn't have a digital ethnography program at my University when I switched from computer science to cultural anthro. Wow, if they had I might be in a totally different field today. I'm in sales. Spectacular video!

  • Spec-freakin'-tacular!!!

  • check out rocketboom's video on called "approaching the singularity"

youtube wouldn't let me post the link, because youtube is a pice of shit cocksucking motherfucker

  • Comment removed

  • sex

  • Extremely pertinent to the transhumanists agenda. Tks

  • a sex machine is using my anus as its toy

  • pro why are u so awesome? like seriously stop already lol

  • wait, wut?

  • most seek it in life to C what it is, believe they can never know it, sad. "it is i.t.", info/tech. info, lil i/eye, tech, t(ee). i is mind/idea t is ta, space btwn info "&" technology. • The machines aren't using anyone, but machiens are not our friends.

People are our friewnds. Friends are out friends, machines are not.

Too many machines, too much machines, too little friends, too few love.

  • rofl, such crap stuff produced by Kanses University. I knew it was something popped out by those nerds!

  • I don't believe that the machines are using us, I think the ones behind the machines are using us...spying on us, testing us, manipulating us

  • I just had a discussion with a friend I know IRL about how information technology is evolving, in such a way to bring the world a lot closer. At the same time, we are becoming dependent on it. The generation growing up today have never lived without a constant influx of electronic stimulation. To some degree it creates an adrenaline rush, supplying dopamine to the brain, and inducing a very real chemical addiction to electronics.

  • wow this is a verry good point, my dad is addicted to e-bay eaven thoug he rarely ever buys any thin from them

  • truth brother, fuck technology. i eat datachips for fun, brah.

  • @FundedByTheMob

10 years from now when technology can cure all disease at the genetic level, will you still be saying "fuck technology"?

  • for every disease that technology cures, 2 more will be created, brah (in the cranium)

  • @FundedByTheMob

See that's where you're wrong. We are using 20th century technology in everyday use. Techs take sometimes 30 years to reach the consumer. We are operating with crappy techs today, full of issues. Like pharmaceuticals, today's genetically modified foods, gas cars, coal power, all of these things are vastly imperfect in heir present form, but the next level is just freaking spectacular, clean efficient, and almost perfect. Brah...

  • alright brah - i'll hit you up in 10 years when 'genetic disease will be wiped out from our DNA for eternity'. ha.

i like what you're saying with genetic foods though - but pharmaceuticals, man - any pill that is popped is leading the human mind astray from where it should be at - functioning on a normal, natural level.

although chemicals that technology produces may not have any visible side affects (growing a third eye) it's still poisoning us as organic, normal-functioning creatures.

  • That's a religious way of looking at it. We aren't "perfect" creatures now, even if we only ate 'natural'.

  • 'religious' way at looking at it? what the fuck? just because i think society would be better without pill-popping fiends makes me a christian scientist? get your head out of your ass, brah diggity brah ha.

  • a need for human conditioning is a disease in itself, and more potent that any genetic disease that may or not be cures in 10 years, as you say.

  • Calm down, take a qualude dude. All I meant was you havea emotional bias against the pills. I don't like them much either, I think drugs ruined my mother to a large part. Money has corrupted a logical, well-being FDA and other agencies of pharmaceutical sects.

  • i'm not speaking from a personal emotional bias against pills/technology as much as i am critiquing 'future civilization' - one where popping qualudes would be the first solution for any stress/anxiety.

instead of jogging it off, hitting some weak ass yoga, or hitting a steam, society will be throwing time-release capsules to the head for relief.

although the 'relief' may be similar sensation, technology will conditions the human to not problem-solve, thus a growing reliance on technology.

  • the trend isn't going to change, the trick is going to be how to make what actually governs humanity a thoughtful and considerate being, who helps us grow even in a Malthusian scenario. Ha, I sound like the religious dude now :D

  • We are totally evolving from the organic. Trans humanism is unstoppable.

  • Peace and Love!

  • I have no mouth, and I must scream.

  • Harlan Ellison. I didn't read it, but I did play the game...

  • That is a terrifying story. I've only seen the videogame played; is the book any good?

  • The moment a machine is intelligent enough to be self-aware and connected to us enough to be truly symbiotic, we will be more intimate with it than any human has ever been with any other human. This is both the most frightening and ultimately the most seductive possibility in all of our history.

  • I liked that a lot.

  • How many people use the "I'm feeling lucky" button on google? I tried it out once, but i never use it. Maybe it's because I'm not often feeling lucky

  • Cool video, cool music!

  • I dont see where the problem is, or if there is meant to be one here. You say the machine is "using" us, as if to personify it. The web is not some artificial intelligence that is watching our every search. It is an automated, statistically analyzing and documentative machine.

  • I think the implication is that it is using our input, to create a better database of information.

  • Ah hell with it, I've been typing for the last 10 minutes trying to say I'm impressed by this video.

So bluntly as I can, I'm impressed by this video.

  • great vid........yes it is truely overwhelming.........
