Tibetan style buddhism preaches that the dalai lama is somehow more divine then a regular buddhist and believe the Buddha was godly which other buddhist sects don't believe. It also preaches a caste system similar to hinduism. If tibetan buddhism isn't a relgion then you might as well say christianity or islam is not a religion.

because Lamas believe they are reborn of the previous lifes of practicing enlightment, so they accumulate 'merit' , they are more buddhahood-advanced and have more 'merit' than other lay persons, which they believe they can use to help the less buddhahood-advanced, i.e: one can achieve buddhahood thru the efforts of others. Therefore the Lamas enjoys more worldly privileges than other lay persons.
For those who support Dalai, If you really care about Tibetan people, come visit Tibet and see the truth with your own eyes. Ordinary Tibetans live a much better life and even have many privileges over Han Chinese in terms of education, health care and housing. I found good answers to your question about 6 realms of existence in the book"Seeking the Heart of Wisdom" by Joseph Goldstein and Jack Kornfield page 112-113.
Buddhists believe in what they call heaven and hell realms, but these are not permanent states. I have read it in so many books, by so many authors I can't doubt that its believed. Also: Tenzi Palmo told me herself. As for Mithra and Jesus: there is no certainty that these two are directly related.

Do not misunderstand. The teachings of Buddha are not about submission to God, they are about the self. It is more of a teaching than it is a religion. One can be a Christian or Muslim and still practice Buddhism. I am a Muslim that practices Buddhism.

Don't criticize things you do not understand. Buddhism is not a religion like Islam and it has nothing to do with prophets or Allah. You do not worship anyone or anything in Buddhism. It is merely a science of the mind and prevents you from craving indulgences and clinging on to material things. It has helped me become a better Muslim and follow the words recited by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Jesus specifically repeats that he is more than a messenger. If you read the New Testament of the bible and in any way examine him as represented, you are left with a choice that he was a crazy person who thought he was God...or he WAS God. Also, bodies are considered one and the same with the soul in many branches of Christianity...you can look into the Theology of the Body for that.

Therefore, it does not belong to any "religion" but is a universal practice which can be understood and practiced by ANY person belonging to ANY group or religion. Tibetan style buddhism preaches that the dalai lama is somehow more divine then a regular buddhist and believe the Buddha was godly which other buddhist sects don't believe. It also preaches a caste system similar to hinduism. If tibetan buddhism isn't a relgion then you might as well say christianity or islam is not a religion.

他用1957年美國訓練藏人對抗毛共，表示愛國，不是媚共嗎？試想那時毛共支援世界革命，國內餓死人還有糧油輸出換取外匯，他對得起死去的人嗎？有良心嗎？
他為甚麼不說共產革命要推翻美國資本主義，難道美國就讓毛共推翻而不反抗嗎？

我完全接受你這個見解。算是正確。
1.請你提供在二十四史內那一處記載。你有沒有研究他的根由，各處鄉村各處例，歷史可以教育人，但用歷史推動革命用心險惡。。
2.從現今第十四世達賴開始計，他是一個農奴制的推動者嗎？何況你把西藏定性為農奴制。那麼從毛澤東搞無產階級世界革命一直到去世超越半個世紀，不斷的階級鬥爭，國內的不說，香港有五百萬人逃亡；請問毛氏的又是不是農奴制的農奴制，你又有甚麼理由去批評人，西藏是歷史問題，毛共卻是現眼報。何況，達賴並不是一個農奴的推動者，相反在毛共推動非人性的共產制度時，達賴和他的追隨者，在印度窮山僻壤不毛之地實現民主政制，即如現在不丹國王放棄王位，推動全民普選，而香港這樣成長的社會就不能實行。你接受國王制還是毛共制...。這是不是井底蛙。

呵呵，我不晓得我在说达赖那副伪善嘴脸的时候你为什么一再抨击毛泽东或共产主义制度？毛泽东其人干过的事和共产主义的好坏，历史和现实早有定论，我真的不明白你想跟我辩论什么？我知道你很博学，看来以我的认知能力还要再学几年才能和你辩论。

我沒有聽過達賴講學。同樣你亦沒有，那你說他「那副偽善咀臉」是不是武斷！
達賴是因為毛澤東而亡命印度的，「他那副咀臉」就和毛澤東有關，我講毛澤東就能證明達賴的一副咀臉...，你是不是要反思。
我沒有聽過達賴講學。但我讀過毛澤東的老三篇，矛盾論...。毛的著作不能使我傾服，就證明達賴必有長處。

Dalai Lama sells the 4 noble truths to the west. The 4 noble truths is the very original teaching of the Buddha, which also stress that one must tread one's own path, no one can achieve buddhahood for you but yourselves. Tibetans Buddhism doesn't stop there, they evolved further

because Lamas believe they are reborn of the previous lifes of practicing enlightment, so they accumulate 'merit' , they are more buddhahood-advanced and have more 'merit' than other lay persons, which they believe they can use to help the less buddhahood-advanced, i.e: one can achieve buddhahood thru the efforts of others. Therefore the Lamas enjoys more worldly privileges than other lay persons.

For those who support Dalai, If you really care about Tibetan people, come visit Tibet and see the truth with your own eyes. Ordinary Tibetans live a much better life and even have many privileges over Han Chinese in terms of education, health care and housing. China is changing and catching up, but many western people's mind still stay in the cold war.
BTW, Welcome to 2008 Beijing Olympics! You will be amazed.

Trust me. Tibetan buddism is a bizzare transformed buddism and not authentic at all. In the past, Tibetan buddist used to sex with virgins to improve their understanding of Buddism. Just because Dalai Lama is famous doesn't mean he could teach you true Buddism.
You are better off learning it from your Indian yoga teacher.

It creates at instant ,depending on your thoughts ....
if you have good thoughts , heaven ,if not ..then hell ..
Both are state of mind and not a place or whatsoever ...

As a Buddhist I believe in the 6 Realms but the God Realms or Hell Realms should not be confused with the western understanding of Heaven and Hell.

Do all of you understand Tibetan? Is there an english version of this movie. I would love to watch it. Would you also mind explaining to me the 6 realsm, god and hell realms. I have a simple understanding of buddhism. I only have heard of the 4 noble truths, the eightfold path and some stories. Please fill me in on the realms! Thank you---Blake

Check out the " Tibetan Book of The Dead" for an in depth explaination of the 6 realms and the Bardo states.

Buddhists believe in what they call heaven and hell realms, but these are not permanent states. I have read it in so many books, by so many authors I can't doubt that its believed. Also: Tenzi Palmo told me herself. As for Mithra and Jesus: there is no certainty that these two are directly related.

Buddhism is a non-theistic religion. Some even call it atheistic, in that it is not concerned with god(s). Many see it as not a religion, but as a philosophy, a way of life. My recommendation to you is to study something before criticising it.

Why are we always arguing? All major religions have basically two main tenets: 1) be good to your fellow man 2) homosexuals are evil

2) Is not a universal buddhist POV however. Tantric rites require a male female bond only, but in general practice there are no limits to your lifestyles, as long as you remain completely harmless.
