  • Thank you...

  • @lfcsilvio Your welcome!!

  • It's pretty safe to ay Barry is the man behind the melodies & hits we all know & love.

  • @TheEgoLab Thank you for the comment!!

  • The main section where the song really progresses is missing. Barry must've written that without the tape recorder. I would loved to have known how it took shape after the tape recorder went off.

  • hi typinghands :-)

I had play the code that it likes Blue Weaver by Barry, and heard that I had made the melody according to it.

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • Thanks for the info honeybabe.

  • @typinghands your welcome :D

  • Hi honeybabe2007, beautiful audio, it is a gem, thank you for share with the all whole world.

  • hi Dobermann49 :-)

Your welcome, thank you for favorited!!

  • I'm crying of joy.. this is beautiful!! Glad to find a "demo" of it.. the birth of such a gorgeous love song! I always cry listening to the finished version... :( wow... thanks! and I was born in 1982.... but I have such a love for old music :)

  • hi PanchoPantera10 :-)

  • omg this is such amazing to hear them compose that!!! ahhhhh!!!!! everyone should listen to them!!! and im young guy too!

  • hi hallal55 :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • This is one of the most facinating records I have ever heard. Even more so considering that this is a song that went on to sell millions and was covered hundred and hundreds of times by other artists. It's a priceless look at a legendary songwriting group creating a work of art. You learn more here about songwriting than you'd learn at stage school - and most importantly what you get here is free. I will treasure this recording. Thank you for posting it!

  • hi desirewalkson99 :-)

Your very welcome, thank you for favorited!!

  • Whoever posted this must have been one of their engineers in the recording session.........This is God given musical talent at work!

  • hi philipleanza3 :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • EPIC ♥♥

  • @SEBAHANDBALL :-) :-)

  • This must have got into the public's hands because of the lawsuit in the early 80s?

  • @teddybearsification Yes, the reversal was innocent in 1980 though it was appealed because of a suspected plagiarism. And the copyright and the right of publication were tried, it was reconciled.

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • This is a legendary moment in popular music. Facinating, so much emotion, euphoria, listening to Barry write one of the greatest soul songs ever.

  • They finally found that special fit at about 8:30, when either Robin, or Maurice went off on that special bit with the best fit for the tune that made it what it was..."when they all should let us be...", and that beautiful chord progression that accompanies the phrase. GOLD, I tell you>>>GOLD. Awesomeness.

  • hi flowerdove2168 :-)

  • Thanks for this amazing upload!!

  • hi billycmo :-)

    Your welcome!!

  • I was there for the first 4 instruments and in the end when the violins were added.

  • hi rowenatunison :-)

Are you a session man or programmer? Great!!

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • I deeply loved this composition session like I was there in the same room watching

the birth of a baby song. HoneyBabe, you are the top !

  • hi terestoye :-)

    Thank you for favorited!!

  • wow amazing...beautiful too.

  • Thank you for this; I think the creative process is perhaps more special than the finished article and it's a treat to hear. Barry looks aMAzing in the photo but he has his hair tied back rather than cut short doesn't he? I don't recall him having short hair except in the 60s. RIP dear Mo and Andy.

  • hi MrJeeples :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

I am sorry for delay in reply, coz breakdown of my PC.

  • 0:07 Is Barry handsome here or what?! OMG!!! And a voice to match his good looks!!!

  • hi CaptianSullyFan :-)

    Thank you for favorited!!

  • @CaptianSullyFan he looks ok with short hair, but when he grew his hair longer he became a sexy beast.

  • I never would have thought that Robin and Maurice were twins, .

  • It is possible, but the programs I saw, it was just the three of them, and whomever was filming. First time I saw them doing this sort of thing, was on a PBS special, WAY BACK......

  • I can recall seeing them on TV showing how they did this. Maurice generally at teh keyboard, or Barry had a guitar, and they'd mess around, stop and converse about which chord the next part should be...it was fascinating and wonderful to see. Unfortunately, I was never able to get it on tape. (Kick myself again.)

  • hi 1Witchitait :-)

Maybe this keyboad plays Blue Weaver ? :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • That was probably the Keppel Road documentary, Just In Case?

In this video anyway Maurice isn't present, the piano you hear is Blue Weaver and when Robin comes in it sounds like Albhy.

  • @LukeShoveller Luke, please do not make comments on anything I post. You are NOT a Bee Gees expert, but you ARE very annoying. It was NOT the Keppel Road documentary. I have that one on DVD and the instance I am referring to is NOT on it. Had it been, I would have said it was on...blah blah blah. SO please do not comment on my posts anymore. Thank you.

  • I kindly commented. I have no idea who you are nor do I remember commenting on your posts but I'm sure I have, so it's lovely to hear from you again. I didn't CLAIM to be a Bee Gees expert, I merely asked you a QUESTION regarding where it might be from, hoping to engage in a CONVERSATION like a normal human being.

I have no idea where that was from, I racked my brains and decided that you were probably thinking of the Keppel, I was clearly wrong, where's the issue? Learn how to socialise.

  • @LukeShoveller I am a very social person, but I have noted that regardless of what is said, about anything concerning the Bee Gees, you always seem to have something to say, in effort to show how much you know of the Bee Gees. I clearly stated it was from WAY BACK...Keppel Road was not so long ago. I saw a PBS special about them BEFORE Main Course was released. I repeat my request: please do not comment about any of my posts. Nor TO me. Thank you.

  • I like to discuss things, most people are happy to discuss things and talk about others things, that is why comments exist. If you didn't want anyone to reply to your comment, asking what it might have been from, why did you post it?

I have quite a collection of clips and I may well have it, it would be in my interest to find out where it was from so I could see if I have the bootleg, it's nothing to do with 'show what I know', I couldn't care less about that, I would get nothing out of that.

  • @LukeShoveller if you have something to say, say it, that's my opinion. Who is anyone else to say who can post and who can't, and then, on top of that, try to determine what your motivation might be.

  • Hear, hear.

Nothing wrong with that at all, hence why I exercise my typing fingers now and again.

  • It some people's books, 13 years is quite a way back, it was my job to decipher what you may have actually meant. I posed the question, you answered in the negative, having some kind of fit in the process.

It's all semiotics, a message is decoded between the sender and reciever through negotiation.

  • @1Witchitait I think the Bee Gees would be ashamed to have a fan like you purely because of your rudness to other Bee Gees fans like LukeShoveller and your sneering tone to anyone who you percive to know more tthan you, Your social skills online are woeful god knows what you must be like in real life. Friendless I imagine. Loser!!

  • @1Witchitait Its still great to hear the process even if we cant see them at it.

  • they are genius see people this what you call talent capturing a moment like this is very special specially a great song of this per portion they are actually putting the song together they dont even have all the lyrics to it yet amazing thanks for sharing

  • hi Pedro :-)

  • @pootubeftw

Certainly this is not a recording session but a composition session.

I just only faithfully wrote the title from CD (Bonus Track of Spirit Having Flown Demos).

  • @honeybabe2007

yes i know i admit i owned myself there quite badly. i jumped to conclusion before i listened to it thoroughly. my mistake :p

  • @pootubeftw

Okay! because it's a mark to invite misunderstanding, I rewrite the title :-)

    Thank you for the point!!

  • this recording has a historical value that no one can imagin.this recording should protect by the unesco, and is part of my child hood too.

  • hi Indikate :-)

    Thank you for favorited!!

  • this is cool. are they just singing gibberish a lot of the time, just coming up with melodies?

  • Yeah, they have some lyrics but they are scatting the majority.

  • I loved listening to this....Thank you

  • hi bettygirlsboy :-)

    Your welcome!!

  • their normal range is great too...very commercial and extremely delicate...not always necessary to do the 'hi' bits' all the time, especially when they are established

  • Which is why they used the natural vocals as much as they did. :) The mix of Robin's vibrato, Barry's tremolo and Maurice's voice which was between the two made for a fantastic natural haromony, and it was replicated on the comparitively rare occasions they went into falsetto.

  • I love this song so so much

so I tried to sing this song with acapella

:) thank you for your posting : )

  • great stuff, where did you find this...

were you working with the Bee Gees...

wonderful to hear genius at work...

  • hi johnlemmon :-)

working with the Bee Gees??? ha ha ha

Coz I'm a designer, I wanted to design their album jackets :-)

Thank you for sub and comment!!

  • this is great stuff! Thanks for posting.

  • hi nuria2crazy :-)

Your welcome, thank you for favorited!!

  • AMAZING! wonderful to hear the true creative talent behind the music. Many dont know that these men shaped music beyond the music they recorded. Thank you for sharing!!

  • hi wuthrich8 :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • I think these guys were/are amazing! And I would assume that they would have changed things with their powerful music , but I would like to know what u mean by "...these men shaped music beyond the music..." thx

  • hi sopka1985 :-)

They are British who spent childhood in Australia.

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • I meant that they werent merely great performers, but also fantastic writers, as you can hear in this demo. The music written crossed into blue grass and country music. Look into all the music they wrte!! ;)

  • Amazing! Thank you for posting...this is a rare jewel...how often does one get to peer into the intimate creative process of america's classics?...Im blown away!

  • hi krymsondiamond :-)

Your very welcome, thank you for the comment :D

  • @krymsondiamond

Well, better luck next time for peering into the intimate creative process of america's classics because these guys are not from america :)

  • America"S? are not they Australian?

  • What an honor to listen in on the creative process for a song that will always be one of my favourites - fascinating! Thanks for posting!

  • hi Nilla :-)

Your welcome, thank you for the comment!!

  • Interesting how the original lyrics were far different from the finished product.

  • hi Sean :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • @zorgen12 I noticed the lyrics too. I wish it was a bit clearer so I could understand all the lyrics being sung. Great post.

  • the workings of a beautiful creation! This is fantastic!

  • hi mooky9669 :-)

    Thank you for the commentsss!!

  • Beautiful. This is my all time favourite BeeGees song. To hear it in it's composing stage is phenomenal. Thanks very much for the upload Honeybabe2007.

  • hi kamenridercyclone :-)

    Your very welcome!!

  • I agree Joe! Such a phenomenal group with such phenomenal hits that became classic hits in all the annals in the history of pop music. They write their own songs. though the Beatles write their own songs too but the Bee Gees produced such countless stars by singing creating music for them. Stars even became bigger stars by singing songs created by the Gibbs - the likes of Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Terri de Sario, Samatha Sang, etc.

  • You said annal.

  • it's like listening to magic being created. this is Beautiful. now stuff like this should be put out on a cd for Bee Gees fans they would love stuff like this. I would love to hear a full falseto version of the song just in case.

  • hi Joe :-)

    Thank you for the comments!!

  • Barry Gibb, by far the best musician of all times. Hes created and sung the most beautiful songs during 50 years now -all huge, smash hits- and to top it off, did the same for the best singers. Bee Gees=gods of music. How deep is your love= ALL-TIME No 1 !!

  • hi thresol :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • Songwriting is TOUGH. You can here them looking for that "lost" chord - and they finally get it - thanks to talent and hard work.

    They deserve their success.

  • hi PicnicHikeMusic :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • The piano sounds Burt Bacharach-inspired...but even more beautiful! This song was a masterpiece from its inception!!

  • hi christy :-)

Long time no see, thank you for favorited!!

  • Wow, I just love this! It's wonderful to hear an artist's process. Amazing. THank you for posting!!!

  • hi leftyla :-)

    Your very welcome!!

  • If anyone wants to know the chords to this song, it`s E-Abm7-F#m7-Db7-F#m7-Ab7-A (with B bass) - E- Abm7-Dbm-F#m7 - B-Abmaj7-Abm7-F#m7-D9-Abm7-A (B bass) E - Emaj7 - A - Am- E- D6 -Db-F#m7-Am- (back to top)

  • Oh wait I fucked it up.... That middle part "and you may not think I care for you" is Amaj7-Abm7-F#m7-D9...It`s NOT Abmaj7 so remember that. Play the A chord but with an A note in the chord flat

  • Actually the released song is in Eflat ,Eflatmaj7, and so on

  • Barry once said his whole secret to writing a song is keep doing it till it sounds right which I think is the best advice I ever heard. It`s not like Chris Martin where his fucking ego is so completely over the top and he plays three chords and tone deaf retards go "Oh that`s good", no this is real songwriting.

  • Well, I'm cerainly not tone deaf and I feel the passion behind alot of Coldplays songs and the Bee Gee's songs too, I think that's abit of a contrived comment to make! The scientist and Fix You are really significant to alot of people, I thikn you're really wrong. But I do agree with what Barry said.

  • That was them, stupid! listen to their conversations,

  • in my channel my sax version how deep is your love wonderful...sandro5*

  • Amazing!!!

  • thanks 4 d upload...valuable gem of music creation... i learn now from the 3 geniuses of music

  • Congratulations :D Perfect video.

  • They finally got to the final 'living in a world of fools' chord progression at 8:16. Nice!

  • I'm a jazz bassist who also loves the Bee Gees' music. It's really interesting to hear this. Number one, they use some classic jazz progressions - like circles of 4ths - and lots of minor and major seventh chords. Number two, it's fascinating to hear how they struggled with coming up with the now-familiar descending progression underneath "Cause we're living in a world of fools..."

  • hi leoray1234 :-)

Thank you for a special explanation :-)

  • I've heard that "Too Much Heaven" and "Tragedy" were written on a Saturday afternoon, and "(Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away" was written that night, which simply shows their amazing composing talent. Listening to this gives you an inside listen into their recording process. It is no wonder why they are so successful, and why the Saturday Night Fever album remained the best selling movie soundtrack for twenty years.

  • hi pilotguy1990 :-)

Thank you for your amazing information :-)

  • Ephemeral. Beautiful to witness. From out of nothing into existence. Some sounds we all now know.

  • hi Beelzubub13 :-)

  • eso..es..original?...y dime donde lo..conseguiste.....por favor ..contactame..

  • The cords are so Sweet!!

  • hi panmancry :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • Amazing..... classic singers just beautiful.

    real LEGENDS.

  • This is the finest example of that intangible, elusive thing called chemistry.

Especially being all brothers, they could hear inside each others hearts and communicate in an unspoken language.

I was afraid this audio clip might demystify their magic.

    It didn't.

Instead it confirmed to me what a gem that family truly is and that all music is a gift from God.

  • hi gorojo1 :-)

Yes, all music is a gift from God.

I am glad that you be deeply move...Thank you for the comment.

  • ....despite the fact it includes some substantial keyboard work on the melody from Blue Weaver.(he created the line)

Blue owned this and when it circulated it revealed that he probably deserved a writers credit, although he didn't get one of course.

But what you say is true; although this clip probably isn't the best example of how they write.

  • piękne ... piękne .. przyjacielu .. dziękuje

  • hi 4Weronika :-)

    proszę bardzo :-)

  • It's so frustrating hearing them trying to find that Ab/Bb chord at the end of the verse that's in the final version... 4:45

  • AMAZING.

  • hi Barbieimposter :-)

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • thanks,

okay, whos in carge of this session, there seems to be a silent leader, im guessing the bearded guy is playing the piano?

    anyways, great stuff

  • Comment removed

  • Blue Weaver is playing piano, when Robin comes in later on, Maurice or Albhy takes over. ;)

  • Blue Weaver is playing piano, he's not a Bee Gee, you can hear him speak.;)

  • This is absolutely amazing! What a great find. Thanks for sharing it.

  • Fantastic! Where on earth do you find these??? Interesting how an odd time bits of lyrics come out while they're doing the melody.

  • hi Emmalala123 :-)

This is included CD that my friend bought for me by chance :D

    Thank you for the comment!!

  • Wow they were creating this song, great find, goes to show how not easy it is, to create a song and the dedication and the love for what they were doing, Thanks for the post.
