We are already seeing the abuse of pets on the increase in New Zealand, I am also sad in the knowledge I will have to kill my dogs/children before they 'need' to be put down, I've also got 5 ducks and 100 chickens (I guess they will be dog tucker;)
...we are screwed and thats an understatement, I'm still trying to convince my husband and his eyes just glaze over... "the media hasnt said anything"
Talk about a powerful tool thats become the destruction of my country through silence
I think there very very few of us that have parteners that can work it out , you are not alone on your own ), and that goes for family, friends, teachers, so called leaders, basicly 99.4% of the population. So yeah we are screwed alright.
But 'we' can't stop bailing can we. Why ? I don't know? I worrie about all the pets, and I guess the children
Thats so strange you should say that, I have 6 strays I took in and I'm worried about keeing them comfortable from fleas and weird things like that, that might sound crazy but to spray these guys cost a mint. Then I think of how I will feed them and my heart breaks, my only child passed away a few years ago and you know what? I couldnt bear it up until just recently learning all these things, I thanked God for taking her because I couldnt bear this with her knowing whats coming.
If peak oil was reported on the news as a fact, as something that's already happened, the people in power are afraid that there would be mass panic from the spoiled, instant gratification orientated society they've nutured. Civilization would collapse. Their power would disappear. I don't think they will ever tell "us".
