  • That's one beautiful Tele

  • Am I hearing delay or is that just the backing track at 2:20?

  • PERFECT TONE <3

  • Nice work! James Gang Rides Again. Thanks for the vid.

  • He's using green screen.

He put on all green except his hand,

then showed a black video, Vol La

  • can you preform on the spot or does it take you a couple times through to get a perfect vid like this

  • absolutely nothing is sexier than a tele with binding

  • floating hands a little creepy haha but seriously awesome cover!

  • Love the TELE! Like it in that color.

  • Is this a hard song to play? I would like to learn it. I am an intermediate player

  • u need to do some more joe walsh!

  • Sounds, awsome!!! Could you slow down and show in detail the intro lick as well as the middle one right after the drum break away. This is the best version of the guitar I've heard yet. Please share!!!!! Thanks!!!

  • nice tele

  • If you don't believe he's actually playing it, listen to the actual track from james gang and listen to Walsh's lick right before he goes into one of the greatest riffs ever. it sounds different. You people must have horrible hearing or something

  • what equiment did you use for this song and what were your amp settings? thanks

  • Negative comments on these lessons really blow me away. You cant find better production values, camera angles, lighting, not to mention technique or accuracy, anywhere! This stuff is GOLD! Oh,,,,and free!

( I was not paid for this endorsement! lol )

  • @MyTwangyGuitar That has to be a record if you did fake that many congrats for the record keep up the good job !

  • yep, very accurate , right on actually thanks

  • That is smooth stuff

When you play the main rhythm riff are you strumming on both down and up strokes? Hard to tell is so smooth.

  • Between my computers at my office I see the sync issue, but it's all contingent on which computer I'm using. My old computer is not worth watching these videos with. Any newer computers here show that Mr. Twangy knows what he's doing. as usual.

I use his videos frequently to check the correct neck position when I'm working out a tune he's also covered.

Check your own equipment out, then make a more educated comment!

  • wow whoever says this out of sync is a moron this is perfect bud, I play this one to with my band and you nailed it!

  • haha, in my comment i said i believe you were playing it though! and i was watching from my laptop which isnt as good for videos as my pc

  • yeaaaaaa!!!!!!!! very good.....5*

  • that is a lussh tele.

  • any know the amp settings for thins song?

  • Killer Dude!!! More music like this needs to be played on the radio everyday!!

    THANKS..YOU REALLY ROCK!!

  • how many humbuckers on that Telecaster?

  • 0. It has single coils.

  • btw awesome playing!!!

  • @MyTwangyGuitar nice cover btw very accurate

  • @pokefreak001 ahah stupid

  • @pokefreak001

I was having a bad day. then I read your question and you made me laugh. Nice one.

  • @tednottodd -_-

  • @pokefreak001 Humbuckers? thats lespaul???

  • @pokefreak001 Really?

  • @domovision i was a noob at guitars when i posted that comment. now i have been playing for 3 years and i have 3 guitars. ^^

  • I love your guitar!

I have never seen a tele with those colours.

    You Aced the cover.

  • Excellent. Best I've seen on here. Just subscribed.

  • Thanks again for more great off center hits. I loved the James Gang when I was much younger. This will now be in our Sets thanks to you. I don't really do Tabs, I need to see the patterns in my head not just where some guy writes them,or just grind them out by ear. Your tecnique is flawless and tone as awlays is spot on.

  • Great Job! I've now subscribed to your channel.

I had this on my mind the other day when, as I was going through a chicken pickin' exercise, it reminded me of it. Low and behold, at the grocery store the next day I saw the latest Guitar World with this song tabbed. I managed to work out the whole song, minus the solo bit. That's where you came in!

Oh, I also play Tele's too and only have 5 now. Gave one to my niece.

You cannot tell a lie on a Telecaster!

    Tim

  • @b06tmm - Yeah, this sure doesn't lie. i had a guy below tell me he could only hear the original track. He was surprised when I told him it was the track without Joe's guitar. I just gave my son one of my Strats - I sure don't use it!

  • @MyTwangyGuitar Great Cover Nice Tele,

Can i be your son.. =) I LOVE STRATS All joking aside Great Playing

  • I used to see the James Gang in the late 60's at this basement bar at Kent State for a dollar cover. They tore it up every time. Man I'm old. LOL!

  • Great job, Sam. I saw those guys in about '72 It was my first ever concert. Jackson Browne opened up for them and ... well, it wasn't a good day for Mr. Browne. You've gotten me more interested than ever to learn new songs. Ah, so many songs, so little time. Keep on posting, I'm very impressed with your playing and enjoying all the songs a ton. Oh, this James Gang tune reminded me of another old one that not many people know. Run, Run, Run by JoJo Gunne. I'd like to hear you do that one.

  • @werogers75 - The earliest I go back is Joe Walsh and Barnstorm at Winterland in S.F. Man, 16 years old and I probably stood there with my jaw dropped to whole time. Those were the days, man...

  • I got that new baja today and am getting this song down pretty good thanks to you! My question------I saw on one of your videos where you gave a site that could be googled to get backing tracks minus guitar. I am intersted in that-----can't remember which of your videos comments/replies dealt with the topic---I watched and read the comments to so many. I am 48, been playing acoustic for 3 years. I appreciate you teaching this old dog new tricks!!! THANKS

  • @mikeh251 - I'm happy for you. Google 'guitarbackingtrack', it will be your first result. You'll find this there. I'm an older dog. Woof.

  • Awesome playing, awesome player...........

  • Seems to me that all I hear is the original track?

  • That's quite a compliment. The original guitar is not present. Do a search for this song (the original track) on YouTube. The guitar is mixed hard right. The backing tracking that I am using is the left channel only which does not include the original guitar at all. The only guitar you hear is mine. It's certainly not perfect and not so close that you can't tell that it is my guitar and not Joe's that you are hearing.

  • Wow I have a pretty good ear, I've been playing for over 20 years! You sound pretty darn close to the original my friend.

  • Thanks, it's as close as I could get. I'm doing the same thing with The Beatles "Revolution" because the guitars are mixed the same way. It's giving me a lot of grief. There' s no way to duplicate that straight into the board distortion they're getting. I'm going to post it in a couple of days but I'm not 100% satisfied. I've worked so hard on it I don't want to shit can it. Anyway, thanks.

  • That is a compliment, but a completely true one. Very nice playing. It sounds identical, which must have been very hard to pull off. Great job.

  • It sounds worlds apart to me, but my ear is so anal it's almost annoying.

  • you ae right about the mixing of this song. I would listen to it to learn it with one head phone in! Great ear!

  • Thats how good my twangy guitar is...no discrepancies in notes!

  • @sm1tty031 - Thanks, I really try. There are some good things that come out of being a very stubborn man - I REFUSE to quit or settle for close enough.

  • Great tone! This was THE song that made me want to play guitar years ago. Joe is one of my favorite guitarist, you nailed it! Thanks for the video!

  • Thanks. It's also really cool their record company approved it and added advertising. I don't have to worry about copyright issues.

  • Awesome ! brings back memories of cruisin' downtown Detroit ...Livernois Ave... in "71-72" with this blastin' full bore out the windows of my "68" Tempest. Youre right about Joe.... saw him as a solo warm-up act one night when Leslie West and Jack Bruce were playing together. They were good but he blew 'em off the stage!!! The gang was one of my early fav's.

  • it kinda looks like its just a guitar and floating hands because everything else is black, great song tho

  • Awesome CC!

    don

  • Nice cover!!!! Great guitar playing!

  • EXCELLENT, I have never been able to get the intro right, you did this as well as I have ever seen it done..

your right Joe is a monster player, i was lucky enought to see him "live" also

    Thanks for doing this one...

    davido

  • That's a really nice comment, David. Thank you.

  • this tele sounds like god. is it a string thru body, or toploader?

  • String through. If you think it sounds good through a Line 6 computer interface and your computer speakers, you should hear this thing in person through an amp - it would blow your mind!

  • hahaha yeah man i know how it is. My old 85 Fender Japanese '52 tele is the only one i ever play. Nothing sounds like it. Leo got it right the first time!

  • Hey-did you disable comments a little while back? I have been having trouble with logging into YT, and channels not looking right. Thought I had a virus or something!

Anyway to make a long story short, I got behind wanting to comment on your great new vids!

  • That's real nice of you and I appreciate it.

  • Good one

  • Awesome
