I don't use amps or DI, just plug my bass to my audio interface( tc eletronic - Impact twin) and add some audio plugins(waves - equalizer + compressor) after recording.

Some parts of instrumental was created on propellerhead reason 5 and mixed with the original track without bass.

I use Cockos - Reaper 4 for mixing all instruments, it's my favorite DAW.
