  • how much did the chip cost

  • I bet theres not many of them around in Sydney.

  • Great vid!

Do you know how many pickups this model has?

  • @tichietim

there are six pick ups - three on each side behind the driving wheels

  • im hoping to get No.6623

  • I must say very nice sound to it, and looks great on your layout. SWD did a nice job with the sound file.

    Cheers

  • may i request a video with all the whistles

  • Request noted - not able to do it immediately

  • great video, Can you tell me all the things you will need (e.g. Chips and controllers) to run an SWD sound fitted locomotive.

  • You'll need a DCC system that has at least 9 functions and the sound decoder from SWD ( They come with a speaker) from memory the train is DCC ready so it is a fairly simple install with the speaker fitting in the cabin if you take out the brake handle and firebox - all are detachable.

  • Brilliant! I really like the detail in the sound, I so want to buy all the parts to have an engine DCC Sound Fitted.

  • omg that is amazing

how much did that cost??? (is that 'oo' guage?

  • The loco is a bachmann OO british rail class 56.

The sound chip is from South West Digital - not cheap - at around GBP 90 it cost almost twice as much as the loco .

  • Do you control the Whistle??

  • yes - on the sound chip there are three different whistles - one short toot , two short toots and one long toot

  • @gdaysydney No, it's a Great Western Railway 5600 class. The British Rail class 56 is a 3,250hp diesel loco!

  • @beeble2003

Good point - have modified the heading accordingly.

    Thanks

  • That was Awsome!!

  • Excellent! I was considering doing the same thing myself, but what stopped me was considering the space inside - obviously theres space for the chip but where did you place the speaker, and is it the round or oblong one from SWD?

  • The speaker is in the cabin. The round one will fit if you take out the brake handle and the fire box

  • I want one! How much? ad where from? :)

  • The decoder was from South west Digital - not cheap GBP 85 but the sound brings the bachmann class 56 alive - now all we need is steam

  • Sounds quite good, espically the Vacum pump working, Quite close to the real thing (worked with 5637 on the ESR)

  • wow i love the SWD GWR 2cyl steam chip

    really has a nice effect.

keep up the good work mate!
