  • fajna wuwuzela

  • Hail Varg

  • depressive black metal, it's all here: masterpiece!

  • You seriously cannot grasp the irony of putting an advertisement on this video

    big fu .

  • So beautiful... gives me goosebumps every time

  • This is a masterpiece, pure art.

People don't like it, that's the only reasson :)

  • this sounds exactly like Once Emperor

  • @TotenHead

This is the official version. The others are not official, they are bootlegs.

  • @pryletoncyo Yeah , but this and Once Emperor are both made by Varg and are different tracks anyway , so I think Varg Didn't want Once Emperor to come out because he wanted to use the riff and such to this song.

  • so fucking scary, amaazing

  • this sounds like its quite a lo-fi recording? as in deliberately not clean sounding. also liking the distortion and reverb? drone qualities, great atmosphere too. are there any other modern bands doing anything similar?

  • @RichardG3RE Sunn o)))

  • this is one of the my most atmospheric albums

  • masterpiece.

  • ....I don't think I will ever like Burzum...no matter how hard I try. Especially this album...it gives me a fucking migraine :/

  • @MadcapMacabre it took me two years from discovering that I actually liked metal to appreciating black metal. Now I can hardly listen to anything else. It all pales in comparison.

  • @Sredit I'm already a fan of Black Metal...just not Burzum. I've been listening to Metal since about 1999. Took me many years too. I'm still a bigger fan of Death Metal than Black Metal. That is unlikely to change. With regards to Black Metal, I'm a much bigger fan of modern exponents like Deathspell Omega and Helrunar etc. There are about a dozen 2nd wave Black Metal albums I'm a fan of. None of which are Burzum records. Hvis Lyset Tar Oss would be great if I didn't despise Varg's voice.

  • @MadcapMacabre I dont listen to Burzum that much, but still I must say, that Varg is the greatest musician ever, and I dont even have Burzum in my top list.

  • @Sredit Tell me more!! Im the same

  • @Sredit I used to love clean sounding metal like Amon Amarth and Lamb of God, and I still do- but after listening to Burzum and Bathory and the like, I can hardly stand music that doesn't sound grainy and to the bone. I love the shitty sound, and the melody and the hate. I love black metal.

  • no es musica es arte

  • @xxXDamnationXxx, you are correct, according to Burzum's website, "Once Emperor" was taken from the 1998 bootleg "Svarte Dauen".

  • yup. artistic expression at its finest.

  • C'est très bien!! Estapudamentos!! My keyboard has no RUNEN. Did study it !!!

    Good Varg!!!

  • GERMANISCHE MACHT.

  • The guitar in this song is taken from his other track, "Once Emperor".

  • @DCitizen I think that's not an official track of burzum, I mean I have never seen it on one of his albums. I think it's a bootleg track from those burzum-imitators(wich I hate)

  • @xxXDamnationXxx this is from filosofem

  • @xxXDamnationXxx This is on Filososfem.. it's an album do some fucking research... This is a classic album, never been recreated, never will

  • @JPhantom418 I was answering on Once Emperor, wich was never been officially released, not about this track. THIS track is indeed on Filosofem.

  • a true nordic soundscape !!

the best BM album ever !

  • Is this ambient black metal? No drums; only guitars and synth with vocals.

  • @HorridDreams not rly, ambient bm can be played in many ways

  • Comment removed

  • i´m crying for this song

  • Burzum is a band that can make you think and understand many things that's what i feel when i hear varg's songs the atmosphere the essence everything is perfect and nothing is random i started hearing burzum when i was 9 years old i found them accidentally and now i am 15 and still its the best band for me

  • @Black666Burzum Dont lie to yourself. You listen to Burzum just because you havent found Justin Bieber yet. 12 year old philosophy doesnt seem to convince me.

  • @PwnMyBalls LOL

  • @Black666Burzum Try to keep it that way and don't let you get overruled by the socalled "normal" people which are mostly very narrow minded and don't accept you as you really are!!! Fukkk what they "learn" you in ffffn schools!!!

  • The only bad thing is the german language i wish it was in norwegian or in english,

why in german ? it takes out all the magic and imagination.

  • Dang, i just went into a trance when I put this song on. 8 minutes just flew by XD

  • Varg is not Satanism, He believes in Odin, search Odin and see what is that about then you will know what is Varg's believes about.

  • Essence of misanthrophy and nihism.

    Varg is my God \m/

  • Me gusta.

  • Always when reading comments on Burzum videos... I die little from inside.

  • how come decrepitude/gebreclichkeit I has lyrics but not decrepitude/gebreclichkeit II?

  • Those who dislike can rot in hell for all I care.

  • Every Burzum video is a shitstorm of ridiculous comments. Why not just enjoy the music for what it is, just music.

  • @JSKlunk Hey let's start a black metal band called ShitstorM \m/

  • @HammerOvThor How many v's are going to be in the name and what design of corpse paint will you be wearing?

  • It will take you away...

  • Beloved Death come to me

  • Great song, i just started listening to Burzum and i have to say, Varg Vikernes is a musical genuis.

  • Satan is the combination of various older deities that apposed christian beliefs. The Idea and image of Satan himself comes from older images and has no historical basis. essentially, he is the compilation of pagan masculinity gods hence the horns and the his sexual nature. He represents the mind succumbed to pleasure. He is merely a christian concept, true worship of the ancients is in the worship of the mythological archetypes, images of nature. Your Satan is mistranslated image.

  • culd and supreme nordic arts!!!

  • the synths just give you that chilling feeling doesent it? XD! im so glad i found this today hahaha

im not exactly a fan of all the really old raw black metal sounds but this.....this is beautiful!

  • If you guys want to enjoy this song 10 times more , just go to a forest at night and listen cerfully to this song . Same for Dunkelheit

  • too much treble gain distortion, tbh sounds like a mess, no one else hears that?

  • @nihi1ity It adds to the atmosphere. The production is one of the reason why this album is a masterpiece.

  • @nihi1ity that's the point. buzzing dark drone ambience.

  • Why aren't the lyrics to this song and the song Dunkelheit in German?

  • @Goetterdaemmerung7 because he isnt a german band? hes Norwegian.

  • may the best guitar distortion ever used!

  • the true essence of black metal, the essence of burzum..great song..deepfull,emotional,depressive feeling..simply outstanding

may the best moment of deep atmospheres in black metal

  • This music is a perfect agony

  • Burzum lirycs are cute and deep, but is being encrypted by tormened sounds.

  • @Skuller3763 They are cute?

  • @Goetterdaemmerung7 the music sound so tormented that if you dont know english or norway you imagine gore or brutal lirycs but is very poetic in a darkish way :B

  • @Skuller3763 Yes you're right it's very serious music.

  • @Skuller3763 THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IS SO DILUTED, IN COMPARISON TO THE NORWEGIAN LANGUAGE.....EITHER WAY.. TO EACH HIS OWN

  • vuvuzela wins!!!!!

  • kino der toten......only thing i know in german ,just felt like it was the right time to randomly utter a word.

  • one part of me tells me that this is utter garbage, nothing more but noise. but the other part of me is hearing something different....soothing and eerie, liberating and undescribable......

  • The way we all feel while listening to this... It cannot be described.

When I seriously considered suicide, I played this, meant as my last musical experience. Somehow it didn't encourage me, but discouraged me. And here I stand today. Nothing will ever mean as much to me as this deeply philosophical and isolating song.

  • awakening in some bland obsolete universe...

  • Third favorite Burzum song, second is Erblicket and first is Hvis Lyset Tar Oss.

  • Grim and icy, more brutal than any depessing blues shit I've ever heard!!! LOL

  • this music got an unspellable name, as most norwegian musics got, but it is wonderful;

    All Hail Varg!

  • Duh been listening Burzum for years but I've missed this song.. It's brilliant.

  • when i listen to stuff like this, my heart starts beating fast, and i get really heavy breathing

  • such a powerful song you can feel all the suffering Varg feels

  • the lircys are about a Suicide in the forest ?

  • Great.

  • put on your candles. close your eyes. fuck the world an fall into burzums world. you wont be alone. because god is with you. the god of darkness. ladys and gentlemen: this is god, this is the master of night and pain, this is our passion. this is varg vikernes.

  • varg plays is music with vuvuzelas!!!!!!!!

  • @dirceualves100 stfu

  • @dirceualves100 stop failing!

  • Comment removed

  • i really like this band but im an american and not a neo nazi lol and something tells me alot of varg fans are crazy nazis. lol maybe its just my imagination oh well. i just listen to the music

  • @bongtoker420 me too, thats why im sometimes hesitant about telling people about burzum because they might like come across one of the videos that show nazi stuff and think wrongly varg or myself for listening to him

  • @CradleOfBodom17 amen my friend....

  • @CradleOfBodom17 agreed.

  • @bongtoker420 they are burzum fans are jokes just like burzum

  • @heidym21 idc bro i just like a couple of there tunes, doesnt make me a stereotype lol

  • this is not music. this is pure art. some kind of art that nost pepole cant relate to. i agree that it is noises, but i like listening to it, i dont know why, but i do.

  • @joviallaban It is art. Black metal was suppose to be a culture more then a music genre. Gaahl said it himself that the performers and listeners do it mainly for the tone and atmosphere that the music brings. So it kinda manipulates peoples emotions which is PURE fucking art

  • @joviallaban There is a melody

  • brilliant

  • This is music.

  • @halofannatic

    everything is better than metallica:D

  • the true meaning is what is does to you...

  • this is so much better then that metallica shit that my friend listens to

  • Well, propably they won't say so. Many people, even I few years ago, can't understand that music.

  • @halofannatic Whats wrong with Metallica?

  • @masterjarred32 whats RIGHT with metallica

  • @clownhunter5 a large movement in the thrash scene, without them we would not have megadeth, also, quite a few death metal bands owe it to metallica

  • does anyone know where can I get lyrics to this ?

  • go to google and search for lyrics, you can find lyrics for any song you want

  • varg is god

  • well said brother! Well said!

  • everytime i hear this i imagine myself held prisoner in a deep dark dungeon chained to rusty shackles feeling nothing but sadness, hunger, pain and lonelyness. This is breathtaking!

  • @crazyarabondrugs you obeviously don't understand the meaning of this song...

  • @crazyarabondrugs damnnnn i agree with you, he sould had the same feelings when he wrote it...!

  • Would it really matter what anyone else thinks, were chatergirsing the music and tellin each other what it is, to me its pointless coming to conclusions with each other what the music means, i think if your really into burzum you will know the true meaning to this song

  • The essence of religion, god and the devil? Only when you're either fucked up on drugs or mentally retarted. This is as mystical as a dog getting beaten to death. I'm a huge Burzum fan, but I'm not dillusional either.

  • As I see you are also too narrow-minded for finding art behind this particular song. Only mystical-dog-beaten-to-death layer? Well.. :)

Goo deaper than violent music, analise the lirycs. Don't you find them artistic in some way?

  • You are narrow-minded and ASSUME that I didn't find art in this. Just cause I don't agree with others doesn't make me narrow-minded. This is art and it's ok to me. The beaten dog analogy isn't about the music itself, just the fact that this doesn't hold the keys to the mystery of the universe, it's just MUSIC. I don't think you're actually narrow-minded, since I don't know you or anything other than you like this song. That's all.

  • All right. I must agrre with you. To some extent ofcors. As you said it's just a music, maybe not key to the mystery of the universe, but inner universe of human mind? It's really close to it in my opinion though. Oh.. and sorry about this narrow-minded discourse.

  • @666Midgard A DARK UNIVERSE AT THAT..

  • @666Midgard This is pure brilliants

  • @666Midgard im glad there are intelligent people somewhere...its refreshing

  • @666Midgard Art doesn't have to be mystical or spiritual either. Yes, it's mystical in the way if the mysterious vibe, but what truly makes art in my opinion is having the ability to have a meaning for everyone, whilst remaining intact with it's creator's personal intent.

Delusional, yeah, only if you think you can step out of your body through meditation and go to a (non-existent) civilization on venus. haha. Now that's a delusion (and a call for mental help I'm truly sorry my friend)

  • @666Midgard exactly, symbolism is a key element in paganism and divination, you decide what is real. Nothing is impossible, reality doesnt exist as long as the subconscious is present. Reality is a fetter, and you are its slave... unless you break those bonds and open your eyes instead of believing what society and the government tells you.

  • @666Midgard what are the Lyrics ?

  • @Discoursemerchant82 mind you... Satanism isn't a religion and Satan isn't what the christians perceives to be ! It's much more than that ! And what's with the drugs? you can be a satanist and take hallucinogens / psychedelics to explore the unknown and to receive some answers regarding life, and you're not mentally retarded! of course, the drugs don't have to play an important role in satanism, but they can be useful when used recreational or during rituals !

  • @doom696mented Actually, I consider myself a LaVeyan Satanist... It most certainly IS a religion.... and drugs are highly frowned upon. As a Satanist, it is not wise to use drugs during rituals. One must have a clear head in order to focus magickal energy to manifest one's will. Please read more about Satanism, both theistic, and LaVeyan.

  • @2ndpinkberlin True satanism, also known as Traditional Satanism, is when Satan is considered out True Father! Drugs, espacially hallucinogens, can be used for mind expansion and exploring the unknown... and believe me: they are in fact used during important rituals(find info about the ancient morbid rituals of the Satanists)! True Satanism is NOT A RELIGION, but an occult and dark path in life, in which Satan helps us becoming like Him, by any means; becoming gods ! Laveyans are just... FALSE!

  • @2ndpinkberlin I read many things about all these pseudo-satanism groups and I realized that the modern satanism, the laveyan one, is just a fucking way to get more money out of stupid people! True Satanism (call it Traditional or Theistic) has been in the world waaay before christianity was even a single fucking word, man! LaVey got some things from Satanism and created his own "religion", called LaVeyan S., which is stupid! However, there are some things in the Satanic Bible I agree with !

  • @Discoursemerchant82 perceive*

  • don't bitch at me, and i know, people will say, he has no clue, but i prefer the cover by sieghetnar.

  • Wow alot of comments from people who have no clue.

Thanks you the upload I got this album when i was 13, I've never looked back, from then on I was taken by Burzum. To me this is not something you listen to while driving, it's to be listened to alone, at night.

    The feeling is indescribable.

  • I agree with you. This is more than ART. This is the essens of religion , God and Devil. This superb.

  • @ChurchInAshes i been listenin to burzum at nite more obsessively than ever as of late.....old burzum the feelin definitely indescibable because i am experienced at synesthesia and so when i'm like oh it feels cool,it really does feel cool.

  • @ChurchInAshes listen to it high on weed, you'll shit bricks.

  • hello from the the san francisco bay area

  • this made me cry once. THE BEST BY BURZUM!!!!!

  • it's not a band, your ignorant.

  • it's a one man project

  • no its just varg

  • a one-man band lol

  • yeah sure.

  • The true lord of darkness.

  • beware of the light it may take you away where no evil dwells it will take you away for all eternity

night is so beautiful (we nned her as much as we need the day)

    simple lyrics

    but it's just insane

    HAIL GRISCHNAKH

  • Livores-German Black Metal

  • This song conveys so much, like a wretched creature shouting to the stars in his last days. Brilliant.

  • how do you pronounce the name?

  • If you mean the name of the Varg's band called "Burzum" I have no idea :) I guess it might be properly pronounce in German/Norway way. As German and Norway , and English belongs to the same entry of Germanic Family Lanuages. Try to use some Old-English. It is more or less like German-English.. or just find some Norwey forum. :)

    Sława.

  • it has no special pronounciation

its one of tolkiens dark languages, so only tolkien knows how to pronounce it^^

  • I consider your comment here as a irony.

Burzum is not word created by Tolkien. As far as I know , in Norwish it means Inner God living in forest. He is not good ar bad. Nor Evil nor Angelic. He may show you the way in the dark forest. He may make also your path unexitable.

    Go to forest. Feel it.

    Sława.

  • in a burzum story he says he got the word from the last sentence of one of tolkiens books:

"ash nazg durbabatuluk agh burzum ishi krimpatul", meaning" "one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them"

  • Tolkien probably did not create the word. Nonetheless, it is a word found in "Black Speech" language that was devised by Sauron. What snirf666 wrote was correct because I remember varg wrote that in his first chapter on the Burzum story.

  • Please , enlight me , because I do not understand you. What Burzum story is? I never heard about story written by Varg. I also never heard about Varg inspiration of Tolkien's. It's seems to me very unusual.

  • Oh.. Already found answear. Wikianswears ;]

You were right , "Burzum" is from Tolkien. However nothing about what you call "Burzum story".

  • He called Burzum because Burzum, In the lenguage of Mordor means Darkness.

    Hi from Spain Blackers !

  • language

    it was a mistake.

  • Close, but not quite.

  • well if its anything like dutch you pronounce the "ch" almost like you roll the back of your throat like you're about to hawk a loogie. imagine you have something stuck in your throat and want to get it out.

  • burzum!!!!!!!!!

    the best band ever!!!

  • Slava Varg!!!
