I still thing Lucy is still, it showed her horn being shot into the air but that doesn't mean she was killed and after all she did use her arms, that many wouldn't be able to kill her and her arms looked longer than what they should be. It'd be great for a season two but that'll never happen seeing as to how most things are explained and the story can't go much longer.

@ItzVinCinity They put that in at the ending in such a way that it was not to indicate another season, but to allow your imagination to assume what you want it to be. For example, Lucy at the door.

I personally like to believe that they could make another season based on the director taking over Lucy's place as the 'queen'. It was Lucy at the door, and while she was going to kill herself at the hands of the special squad, she sensed his presence as a Diclonious as well as his ambitions.

They left a question that wants you to have a new season that isn't filler, it seems like they left the question in the last episode, is she dead or not? the silhouette is what's supposed to really help you figure that out... but I prefer another season.

Man, I loved this series. At the beginning I was like" holy crap!", but as I progressed through the series I really liked it. I can't stop watching this ending. Some parts almost even made me cry. This ending is amazing! Again, this series is really awesome! I might watch again later too. (By the way, I do think it was Lucy/Nyu that was at the door.)

Listening to Lillium so much, makes me wonder ... When will season 2 come out, if there will be. I .. love this anime. It's the only anime I loved that much. It was so short it's weird. For such a wonderful anime, be so short. Only 13 episodes, but that's how everything is I guess, lots of animes have little ammount of episodes.

This anime actually portrays a very real part of the world. The "different", how they are abandoned even by their parents and experience nothing but loneliness. Most of them just succumb to the harsh society and die. The saddest part is, unlike Lucy or No.35, those who survive, don't get to take out their anger at others rather they are forced to keep it inside and slowly perish under the very burden. Their existence rendered meaningless to the world. I just feel sad sometimes for such people.

I agreed up to taking their anger out on others that seems like such a trivial thing, if you want to really get back rise above what they did to you, the cycle never ends because all people see are revenge and payback, the person who has wrong done to them but returns it with kindness will break the cycle.

Personally I think Lucy/Nyuu did die. But there is peace and comfort in that, her painful (life) if you'd call it that was over. But in her final moments, she was forgiven and loved as Lucy. The figure at the door was her spirit. Hence the clock working, her way of saying remember that (Nyuu/innocent) side of me. Her way of blessing the home she briefly found happiness in. And a reminder she would always be a part of the happiness to come. Just my opinion. My first time ever seeing elfen lied,

My theory is that it's Nyu. Technically Lucy was one of her dual personas which was beyond help. She couldn't possibly live a normal life after everything that happened so she decided that ridding herself of her other horn, and consequently her remaining vectors would "kill" off lucy but Nyu would remain. Nyu being the innocent persona who deserved to live a full life.

It didn't show her getting killed and the dog happily barking at the end kinda support the theory.

@Carma12100 I'd say she didn't die. Just what I think, but Lucy has 4 vectors right? when her 1st horn was knocked off by Mariko, she has only had 2 left. (20:20) Which means when her 2nd horn was gone, it didn't kill her - it made her no longer a diclonious. explains why nana couldn't sense her, why the dog was so happy (as it recognised her). the clock's significant too. why else would they show nyu meddling with it in the past? perhaps it working at last shows lucy/nyu didn't die.

@Carma12100 I think it was Lucy at the end because they showed 2 things that she was involved with: the seashell she gave to Kouda to replace the one she broke in the first episode that his deceased sister gave him, and the ''broken'' grandfather clock near the staircase, that Mew seemed to take in interest in, suddenly started to work when a feminine shadow figure appeared at the main entrance. So, it had to be only Lucy at the door, who else could it have been? :)
