  • seriously good lessons -Thankyou Dave.A small problem, and it's probably just me,you are using a 7 string with a very low contrast on the neck, and the neck has no dots.I have to keep stopping the vid to check my finger positions.Like I said, prob just me.Anyhow, i'm grateful for the time you put in on these vids.Superb.

  • Yep, common complaint. I'll change that someday. Til then, ignore the 7 and review the tab to stay on track.

  • this is such a cool riff!

  • Thanks a lot Dave. There are so many online lesson's these days but I personally find a lot of them lacking in actual explaination. You explain things really well, so even a simpleton like me get's it!BTW, you rocked at The Apollo, Manchester England '05, where I met yourself and Mr Vai.

    Thanks again Dave. :)

  • Ma you´re awsome!! What a cool sounding lick dude! One of the best I´ll tell ya.

    Steffe from Sweden

  • WOW, one of the coolest licks I've heard in a very long time...superb job Dave, like always!

  • Awesome Lick!

    Really!

  • Again great lesson. It be cool to see an Eric Johnson approach to combining pentatonics though...

  • Great lesson Dave! It's always cool to get new angles on the Pentatonics!

I just learned a Guthrie Govan lick recently that did something similar (using slides for the position shifts.) However, his riff was a descending 4-note sequence, (very typical!) where he added interest by incorporating the slide on the 1st-note of each group-of-4.

Your riff has more movement and interest with it's 2-changes of direction (per-phrase)!

    WAY COOL!

    Peace!

  • yeah I just saw that same video man. Guthrie Govan's 8 favorite licks or whatever it was called.

  • very cool

  • I can't wait to try this out thanks dave!

  • Cool new intro/outro.

Thanks for the great lessons !

  • A fresh sounding take on the good old pentatonic- Thanks Dave :)

  • Thanks Dave

  • As always, your stuff is awesome Dave. Keep it up, for the sake of guitarists (or musicians in general) everywhere!
