  • This video would be much more useful if you explain what the benefit of doing this is. Or how it changes the behaviour compared to simply using a single vMotion portgroup/nic. Nothing in depth required, but 2-3 sentences of explanation would be very valuable.

  • @eros2079 Duncan Epping over at the yellow-bricks blog helped with the creation of this video. He provides some explanation of Multi NIC vMotion on his blog site. Just go to that site and perform a search for Multi NIC vMotion.

  • @eros2079 But I agree with what you are saying. Maybe we will do a follow up video which will dive further into the advantages a bit more. Thanks for the feedback! :-).

  • @VMwareKB You could probably get away with just putting links to related content in the details section when posting the videos. The info on Duncan's blog post is pretty useful, as is the comments and discussion.

  • Ok that looks interesting, so what is the benefit, will it use both at the same time?

  • @jgcomp68 VMware KB article 2007467 states that when you initiate a vMotion multiple NIC ports are used. Even when vMotioning just one virtual machine both links are used.
