It is and it isn't illegal.

The law in NZ says that whilst you are allowed to have flashing lights in your car, you're just not allowed to use them. You are also not allowed to have red and blue lenses facing the front of your vehicle, they must be clear.

I have been making the Powerpulse units that alternate these types of lights for 10 years, so am fully aware of the NZ legislation and the law surrounding this issue.

Looks pretty cool tho, just don't use them on the road.

it's a flasher relay that does it. it's a white box with 4 wires that you connect to the head lights and then to a power source

they are the same man make sure you get the abc flicker box. WARNING if you get nabbed it is an arrestable offense to impersonate a New Zealand Police officer By Using these lights and you will go to jail for it. i suggest you keep it to where they wont be seen by police like on some country road

Accually it's not an arrestable offence, they say it is but I went onto the police website and land transsport and they seem to think it's only illegal if you have them connected or operating. However some cops are assholes like the one that got me for my lights. Unfortunaly he was shamed out when he had to take the Warning on my name about them off. You wont pass a warrent though.
