  • Please put jeep trucks back in steady production in the states so in 15 years when there rusty and cheap i can have one!

  • should say Jeep since WW2

  • It's a shame that only about 30% of this vehicle is now domestic, and the main assembly is in China, Iran, and Ontario. I wish I could have been around when vehicles were actually American. Awesome vid by the way. Old school Jeep's and FJ40's are truly the best 4x4's.

  • WHERE ARE THE BANTAM JEEPS ? THE REAL GRAND FATHER OF WILLYS AND FORD JEEPS, FROM ITS DESIGN WERE BORN ALL OTHERS.

  • Wait, wheres the Ford GP? Isn't it how Jeep got its name?

  • for more information jeep yj m240 its not flexible and very bad off the road but the good thing of this jeep he has 4200 or 4600 jeep engine with 205horse power 1500-1650kg becous this heis very strong.

the jeep yj m240 made in israil.to see this jeep power write (סופה orجيب سوفا)

  • @63yosif Yes I know and see the power of the Jeep YJ with the AMC 6 cylinder engine and I know the YJ chassis and suspensions with leaf springs very well, they aren`t very flexible, but they are simple, strong and easy to repair. It´ s easy to improve the off-road capacity of a YJ by removing the stablilizer bar and/or modifiy the suspensions. The 4.0 l AMC engines are great for off-road use and the transmission with the NP 231 transfer case give a excellent crawl ratio. Thanks.

  • jeep yj m240 has name "sofa/סופה in israil

  • @63yosif Yes I know, that long wheel base jeeps are very interesting, but unfortunately they aren´t available here in Europe. Thanks for the comment.

  • that green tj is the best. no one likes yjs

  • YJ's are missing.... JERK.

  • Good job my friend!

  • @Gasoline2009 Grazie.

  • hurrah for the m38a1

  • No YJs? YOU FAIL! DISLIKE!

  • You should read the description. I haven`t included the YJ but I have included

the AIL Storm M240. The M240 is based on the YJ. Modern military Jeeps

aren´t famous like the civilian versions. In my other clip called "Jeep trucks

and long wheel base Jeeps" you can see the YJL, a rare version of the YJ

    with long wheel base.

  • How can you have a short clip about "the most important Jeeps" and NOT have one of the most iconic Jeeps ever...the M151 and its successors the M151A1 and M151A2. These are most widely known from the vietnam era. Bit of an oversight i think. :o)

  • @spookymyo I haven`t included the M151 and it`s successors because they can´t be considered real Jeeps. They were produced by AMC and Ford, but technically they can`t be comparated with a classic Jeep with two solid axles, a ladder frame and a two speed transfer case (high and low gears). The M151s are good vehicles but they look only like a Jeep and they weren`t the only light 4wd vehicles of the US armed forces and ARVN in Vietnam. Look for the CJ3B, J4, M606, M38A1 and M38A1C.

  • @petermrs yea but the 151 is still a jeep. it used jeep engines, transmissions, rear axel assembly and body components. its just as much a jeep as any other. though it was kind of a fail with the front IFS it was a learning experience and does still deserve to be in the lineup next the the m38 a1

  • @tallzdatank Some things on the m151 are similar if not intercheangeable with the Jeep, but many other parts are very different. Intergangeable parts doesn´t qualify the M151 as a Jeep. The Amc Pacer had Jeep engines but it´s only a passenger car. The M151 was made and developed by Ford and built by Ford and AMC, but in that era Jeep was owned by Willys and later by Kaiser. The M151 is surely a good off road vehicle, but not a Jeep.

  • The French produced a flat topped hood version for their military, Fiat also made a jeep knockoff and so did India.

The first Landrover prototype used a jeep frame, and in the 60s there was a brief flirt with Landrover drivetrain in a Jeep. I drove the M38C1 and the M151 in the army, but am a dedicated Landrover nut. I often wondered why Jeep took so long to offer a 5 door version of the Jeep.

  • @Colinpark Thanks for the comment. Jeeps were in use for many years in the European armys. Italy began to replace the Willys MB & Ford GPW in the 50s with the Alfa Romeo Matta and later by the Fiat Campagnola AR 59. There was a version of the AR 59 with a recoilless rifle like the M38 A1C. My father drove this version in the army. I´ am a jeeper but the Land Rover Defender is great.

  • Thanks!

  • whats an atomic rifle?

when did they swap away from the side valve engines?

  • An atomic recoilless rifle is similar to a conventional recoilless rifle, but it`s able to shot a small nuclear warhead.

There were two versions of this gun the

M28 and the M29. Both weapons could be mounted on a tripod or carried by a Jeep, truck or APC.

But many other types of nuclear artillery were produced.

  • The F-head (overhead intake valves and lateral exhaust valves) engine was introduced in 1950 in Willys Wagons and Pick Ups and 1953 in the CJ3B and was produced until 1971 with the CJ5 (M38A1) & CJ6 (M170). The powerful (160hp) Dauntless 225 ci (3.68l) V6 with overhead valves was introduced 1966 in the CJ series.

  • So you didn't include the yj?

  • I´m sorry, but I think the YJ is a very good vehicle. I have included the AIL Storm M240. The M240 is based on the Jeep YJ and was made in Israel by AIL for the armed forces. It was powered by the italian VM Motori 2,5L 4 cyl. turbo diesel or the AMC 4.0L 6 cyl. petrol engine.

  • 1:27 wow

  • Thanks. I wish Jeep unlimited's came in turbo diesel in the US.

  • thank the EPA and new diesel emission standards... making diesels more complicated, less efficient, less reliable, and more costly :(

  • nice,,,good.,,,work

  • Thanks.
