  • It really is a great device, far superior to the old rubber-tubing crap we used to get issued (which sits in an IFAK for 10 years, dry rots, and then snaps as soon as you need it.) With a full femoral severance, you can bleed out into irreversible shock (aka death) in a couple of minutes. These things are some of the best money DOD ever spent.

  • The Combat Application Tourniquet (CAT) is available for use in Orange or Black. A trainer version is also available which comes in Blue.

  • i like the blue trainers

  • why did you color it black? i think a orange color like in the vid would be better

  • so would the person shooting at you

  • mmmmm....ok? I think the blood pooling around you is more of a give away than a orange CAT

  • @salix1970 All military equipment has be of a subdued color. Remember the CAT is going to spend most of the time in a kit. You don't want blaze orange anywhere on your load out. Having it black, OD or what have you allows the individual to put it where ever needed blaze orange means it HAS to be hidden.

Blaze orange is better for civilian use since visibility is usually what you want. Both for finding it in a kit bag and on scene.
