Vielen Dank!
Aikikari, you don't have to explain yourself to anyone. I've seen people do exactly what you did in this video many times. It takes a great imagination and a true love of Aikido to expand your training in this way. Incidently it is a practice of self protection, not self defeat.

Don't you see the irony? You haven't learned how to fight, you've learned how to GET BEATEN! You can GIVE UP to every opponent, you can get your ass kicked by AIR! Congratu-fucking-lations!
Actually I do see the irony: I made this with an ironic intention. Apart from that I am sorry you dislike the video. As a matter of fact though, I never stated anywhere that I try to learn how to fight. Therefore it isn't really pathetic I didn't do that - it was not my purpose.
As far as this giving a bad name to Aikido; I doubt that this gives any name whatsoever to Aikido. A little more than 1000 views will not be enough to influence the public perception of Aikido. Too bad for me ;-)
Aikikarl, the skill you demonstrated here in one of the most ESSENTIAL skills in any martial art worth the title of martial art, was superb! The ability to imagine the attacks being done to you gives you deep insight into the understanding of the human body (both yours and your tori's). I'm not an Aikidoka (though I did study for a while), but in my current martial art I've learned the value of knowing how to breakfall, and you sir, do it beautifully. Keep up the good work.
Hotora86, eventually you may want to be more open minded. You might be looking for something a little different in 10, 20, or 30 years time? Or are you just going to train while you're young and injuries heal quickly?
Are all the drills you do 100% effective?
This video shows some interesting movement if you are looking for it.
Aikido can be effective and fun, if you find good instructors.
jajajajajajajajajajajaja muy bueno.... no le ace falta contrincante.... ademas lo ace muy bien

(2) katatetori nikyo
(3) tsuki shihonage
(4) yokomenuchi iriminage
(5) katatetori sankyo
(6) katatetori kokyuho
(7) ushiro tekubitori jujinage
How'd I do?
Great video btw... shows a lot of experience, both as nage & uke.

This is pathetic and gives a bad name to Aikido.

Amazing how few humour people can have and how more-than-serious one can be.
BTW: I can confirm you that he did not get beaten up and will never be - this ukemi is made for surviving. :D
Aikido (ukemi) is also about giving up in the right moments...

Really amusing! And you did it so well, like an acrobatic mime. So, you don't need an uke, anymore.
