When Katia was with Sergei she had a look of sheer happiness on her face. In all the years since he has been gone, Katia sometimes smiles but that glow is gone. Her smile doesn't go to her eyes anymore,the sparkle is not there.

i read her book...and i cried at the end :'( its so sad...it said he fell to his knees and wouldnt tell her what was wrong, then he died...and she tried to warm up his hands but it didnt work (wen he was dead in the hospital) and when he had hallen, she couldnt remember how to say help in english, so she went running everywhere and when she got back they wouldnt let her see him because they didnt want her to see them working on him and i cried D:

Wow, what a great tribute to Sergei. No one ever did, or ever will, compare to Katia and Sergei. There was this magic between them on the ice that completely mesmerized everyone who watched. The skaters themselves said that when Katia and Sergei skated, everyone stopped and went to the curtains to watch. I feel very privileged to have watched their love story on ice, and see them become Champions of the World. It broke my heart when Sergei died...I miss G&G very much.

OMG........I remember when Sergei died.....it was so tragic!!!! All the skaters came to her aid! Katarina did this as a tribute to her late partner..and her little girl , is so cute! They were so much in love! I haven't seen much of her anymore..His spirit will always live in our hearts!

She's still around and skating, but she cut her performance schedule considerably after Elizaveta was born. Videos are pretty easy to find online if you want to see her more recent stuff. This year, she really only appeared in Russia and charity-type shows here in the U.S. (Skate for the Heart, Scott's cancer show and Frosted Pink) plus Kristi Yamaguchi's Friends & Family she's done each year since it started.
