No no, in Europe and other eastern countries the steering wheel is on the right side because the road is on the left side. The exact opposite to America's driving system. Why we drive differently? I dont know, but that is why and its not easier or harder that way, only for an American in a different country.

Actually, in Europe it is only in the UK that the cars drive on the left with the wheel on the right.  The other European countries drive on the right in a left hand drive car.
