Hi ... I am new to this but i am using making washers for electromagnetic coils with jewelry resin ... I have had trouble making the molds but am considering molding a long flat piece and cutting them out ... Is this possible .. all I need out of this is a washer with a 5/16ths holes in the middle and about a 3/4 wide ... I would like them to look nice also tho and be translucent and they do have to he hard .. any help would be great
OMG! I have been watching resin tutorials for DAYS!! the quality of most is TERRIBLE with even horrible music etc. Im so GLAD i found you! <3 i think im gonna be watching your tutorials the whole weekend! :) thank you so very much!
Hi cindy!! i'm just starting to do resin..Your videos have been really helpful btw thank you.
i wanted to ask u..for now i use an ice cube board as the mold..but i dont know why the sides that touch the mold dont come out clear??its foggy..only the top part is clear. The same if i use the mold releaser prior to the pouring.
Is there something i can do to get rid of the fog?? or should i add something else to avoid the fog??
@svenskakuswanto Cloudy castings usually mean moisture but you said the top is clear so it makes me wonder if it is the mold. Resin will mimic whatever it touches. If it's moisture then you want to pour on a dry day (not raining). What kind of resin are you using? thanks cindy
@svenskakuswanto Ok, I think the problem is the ice cube tray. Resin mimics whatever it touches. If there is any texture to the mold the resin will mimic that. A glass smooth mold will produce a clear shiny casting.
Dear Cindy, I am so excited I found you as I am JUST starting to do resin.
I wanted to thank you for your videos.. and I wanted to ask you HOW do you clamp your dremel down? I can't quite see how you do it. Thanks for the tips on cleaning the sanding rings... as I have a ton of them to clean., I will check out your site! BTW how would you make a faux abalone or opal?
Hai! How do you keep it from getting all white at the places you sand. I've tried hand sanding with wet sandpaper, an emery board and a small handheld sander and I keep getting the same results. Your help would be super appreciated! :)
Yeah, but a few things though. I find that even after buffing with a high end car polish and dremmel tool buffer pad, the scratches still show, which, to me, looks unprofessional. Would brushing resin over a hardened piece fill in the scratches and make them disappear?
Hi Cindy! Love all of your videos! How do you polish your pieces? I have a dremel 300 and I've been using the pieces that came with it for sanding and polishing. When I polish it, the white is removed, but it's not clear like it was before. How do I get that back? Any tips on polishing tools too? Thanks.
Very good video... lots of good tips and could understand almost every word.
Will you be doing another one on "polishing" the Easy Cast (or regular epoxy resin), or is that covered in another of your videos? I know to go up to about 1200 grit wet-dry, but do you have anything to say about the possibiliti of getting a high gloss with plastic polishing pastes, rouges, etc, or by using liquid sealers, etc.?
And do you treat other epoxy resins in the exact same ways? Diane B.

You have to polish and buff with a jeweler's rouge to bring back the shine. Is that what you were asking?
