How can someone not love the Beatles? How can someone not be awed by their songwriting genius, their masterful melodies, and their eternally enduring influence?
has anyone done a bridge as intense and perfect as the one in this song? I can't think of anything close to it... maybe Bohemian Rhapsody but it would be a distant second... then again, anything put up against the genius of the Beatles has to settle for a distant second... but there's no shame in that
This is music at it's finest. Imagine listening to the whole album to finally hear this song at the end. It leaves you in a sense of ah. I love how each Beatles song has a certain emotion: happy, sad, humorous, etc. This is probably in my top 10 favorite Beatles songs.
so the beatles are the greatest band ever and john lennon is the best musician ever and this song was ranked number 1 in rolling stones magazine top 100 beatles songs than this is the greatest song of all time!
Its quite hard listening and singing to another song after hearing this one. There really isnt a song that can compare to this. The atmosphere, mood, and emotion in this is extraordinary.
I love this song, but some of the images hurt. They were at the height of their fame, their writing, as were the Stones, looking at Mick at :12 and Keith Richards at :56 is sad too. Both John and George are gone, as is Brian Jones. Mick and Keith talking at 1:37. It's an incredible montage of friends, musicians, and fantastic music. "A Day In The Life", to me, is the Beatles at their absolute best, when they were masters of the world. Sometimes I wonder if they could have brought world peace!!!!
@forgetfull40 Yea. Its says in my Beatles book that he was there for the Feb 10th recording session along with Keith Richards, Marianne Faithfull , and Jagger. The Orchestra wore party hats, rubbers noses, and gorilla paws.
@TheLegitScammer I absolutely agree with you. So much of THIS SHIT happening today will never compete with REAL ACTUAL MUSIC. Looks like the Beatles don't have anyone to dethrone them anytime soon.

@raulox17 Mick Jagger was a huge Beatles fan. He can be seen frequently in their live videos including All You Need Is Love. What point are you trying to make? I hope not that the Stones were more influential. Mick Jagger has plastic soul. John and Paul are so real.
@OwnerClassics I fail to see how this song can be classified as "sad". Sure, it has moments of wistfulness, but to me it has always stood out for its wry, playful humor; it probes the depths of an ordinary life, and finds pathos, playfulness - and all kinds of other emotions. It was a sheer work of genius.
Following the final orchestral crescendo, the song ends with one of the most famous final chords in music history. Lennon, McCartney, Starr, and Evans shared three different pianos, with Martin on the Harmonium, and all played an E-major chord simultaneously. Towards the end of the chord the recording level was so high that listeners can hear the sounds of the studio, including rustling papers and a squeaking chair. Great stuff!
@Jteal81 That would be the crazies, and America's shameful, awful gun control.
They'll never fucking learn. John Lennon, Tupac, Dimebag Darrell, Marvin Gaye, Notorious BIG, Jam Master Jay, Jackie Wilson all shot. That's just the musical artists. I'll not even go in to the ridiculous amounts of children killed in high schools.

No .... because a crazy man wanted to kill him. He would have done it in any country. The normal people with guns, who would obey laws, aren't the ones you have to worry about.
This prohibition crap has got to end ... just like there was no alcohol in the 20s, or no drugs now, right? You're going to make something illegal and it's magically going to disappear?
John would have been an amazing person to know and be around. He seems very complicated but in a good way . . . . Never a dull moment with him. I can only imagine what brilliant conversations one could have had with John. Love his look @ 3:21.
