That is not a tsunami wave. Out at sea a tsunami wave would most likely not even be noticeable by a ship. It's not until the tsunami gets close to shore into shallow water that it becomes a killer.

@jacoby1682 The periodicity of the wave is too short and the water following the wave is not the same height as the wave. This is a small "rogue" (a piling up of several waves into one big one). Rode one when sailing around Grand Bahama Island. it was around nine or so in the morning and the wave blocked out the sun. Boat felt as if it fell into a big hole just before the rogue...our little boat rose like a cork so there was no prob.

Tsunamis whilst t sea are not classed as tsunamis as they will only get to the height of a ver mild swell if anything. it is only once they reach shallower water that they become the classic tsunami wave.
