had mine done in 06' (open bankart not scoped). my repaired shoulder is better than the uninjured one. the recovery is a mofo. i've had a knee fixed as well and the shoulder was 10x worse. however, well worth it isn't the word for it. shoulder is amazing now. I hear that open bankart has become just about outdated now a few years later and they can get as good of results with a scope with some type of new technique
i just had surgery at 7 am to fix aa bankart tear ans some connetive tissues that were no longer attached....with intense rehab you can get your shoulder very close to what it was before...i tore it because of multiple dislocations.
It takes 12 to 18 months to fully recover from this surgery (bankart)....I underwent it twice, failed first time because I was cleared to lift and get back to any sport activity 6 months post-op...I read it takes up to 18 months!
i am a patient of bankart lesion too. i got it operated an year ago and now it has again started to dislocate but now am so habitual to that i locate my shoulder myself as my shoulder has dislocated for 58 times lolz .... but if any 1 gets operated always remember to get a physiotherapy after that to strengthen ur muscles

no shoulder become "normal" after surgery,it can only get "better" than it was....in best case.
