We'll write some wanker lines for the opposition's customers, we'll drop in some cool references for "our side" - hey, someone Google things that IT people say that we can use in the video - and then it will go viral and... gee, only 20000 views in 3 years? But we got a professional cameraman for this... how could it not go viral? We better have another meeting to talk about it - maybe we didn't drop in enough cool IT references...
yeah incredibly expensive to run wax printers... also leave your prints in the car and they will melt and will stain anything they touch in the car. Its a really cool idea and would even be a good one despite all of the cons if it wasn't so damn expensive. laser printers at least colour ones can be thrown away after toner runs out. I got 8,000 prints on my colour laser total cost $500 this thing uses $575 in wax not counting the cost of running the thing and the printer itself.
anyone know when the next space shuttle arrives from the moon so I can pick up my order of wax. I think thats where it comes from? can we have those individual polar bears for pets?
The solid ink (actually wax balls) gets about half the mileage i get from my laser. I wish I had never bought the s.o.b. The money you save from not having to buy those extra components gets eat up keeping wax on the shelf. Wow who would have ever thought wax would be higher than gasoline.
all kidding aside, the ink is fucking expensive and the units fucking bleed the thing out none stop. Xerox is a damn scam and everyone knows it, not to mention the fucking bs consumables that cost more then the printers.
Why is the premise of the argument an office full of dumb employees who don't know how to use the product? This is an "attack" against solid ink? I think it's an attack on dumb temps and 9-5 office workers! You don't keep turning it on and off all day!! Then you don't force the printer to reflow its lines, then you don't get the little blobs of purged ink. The unit has sleep modes and such that are absolutely normal. Competition can be so stupid sometimes. Just like dirty defence lawyers.
They are obvious to dumb to use a solid ink printer! It's really very easy: Don't move it when the ink is still hot and don't turn it off unless you want to move it! Simple, isn't it?
1) waste on powerup is about 5g per time, but printer is not designed to be powered on and off and btw this IS Energy Star compliant so in power save it uses 43W, like a low power lamp. Overall it's 1/30th the waste of a color laser, no waste disposal contracts, and uses half the energy during printing, I'll stick to solid ink, thank you very much HP.
BTW out of power save, it's only 1-2 mins and "Intelligent Ready" mode will keep it warm when you really need it.
Apparently yes, or close enough to liquid state so that when printer goes out of power save mode, 1-2 mins of warming up (800-1000W) can get the ink and printhead ready to jet.
Consider that this makes the printer usable because a "cold" start gets the 8560 printer ready in 12-13 mins.
accurate enough, but remember printer will only purge if head temp on powerup is below 110°C, that happens if printer has been off for at least 2-3 mins. This means that the occasional 5 seconds power outage will NOT result in wasted ink due to head clean.
I hope the staff aren't embarassed by these actors' portrayal of their STUPIDITY LEVEL. I pray your dad and his co-workers truly know how to use this very cool product.

Recently saw the machine demonstrated at a trade show, the print quality reminded me of blurry cartoon characters in a New York Post column.

convenient truth on solid ink:

43w can keep the ink in a liquid state?

So plug it into one of those cheap appliance timers, and set the timer to turn on/off at the beginning/end of the business day.

Didn't know about the waste on powerup. Is that amount accurate?
