Not to sound disrespectful, b/c I know you have your own beliefs, but if your friend knows that you're an atheist, and she invited you to come to church w/her, you should've just said a polite "Thanks, but no thanks" and stayed home. @amez4life To be perfectly honest.... I didn't really have a choice. We worked together and the deacon of the church was my manager at the time. My friend went to him and told him that my soul needed saving so he gave me the day off to go to church with them. As I live in the bible belt I didn't want to risk getting fired because I really needed a job. I don't have a belief. I have a lack of. This is interesting....I have attended an all black Southern Baptist revival. Now that was a hoot! It does seem as if you had an experience that held your attention.
The baptismal pool was a shuddery site to behold! I think it was because I could easily envision people squandering their personal power away. I politely refuse the offering of a "holy spectre".
The overall experience appeared to be an involved theatrical performance.

I used to go to church back when I was in highschool (about 8-9 years ago) and I really never got into any of the church activities and the only thing I can remember is that each sunday morning during the gospel time there was always a few people; these women always apparently getting the holyghost through the music but to me it looked like they were c-walkin (crip walk- dance done in the gang). If you are not afraid at all of dying then you may walk up to a lion to pet it. Then you get eaten and don't pass on your DNA. After that college, learning about science, and study of evolution lead to me turning into an atheist. I really don't even discuss it anymore because it's not very important to me. I used to go to church back when I was in highschool (about 8-9 years ago) and I really never got into any of the church activities and the only thing I can remember is that each sunday morning during the gospel time there was always a few people; these women always apparently getting the holyghost through the music but to me it looked like they were c-walkin (crip walk- dance done in the gang). @sirchristian12 You are ridiculous and are totally ignorant. I was raised in the church and was "saved". I have read the bible from front to cover 5 times. The only difference is, I know it better than you do.. and that is why I will never be apart of the cult. Go drink the kool aid dork.

@StarMagick I know the truth. Yeah I was raised Catholic my whole life and asked the Holy Spirit to guide me. Which it did. I have read the Bible so many times. You don't know better. you wrote off an entire book inspired by God because you fail to understand. It is no cult. You are a closed off, disrespectful, and lost. It is the blood of Christ. Without God, there is nothing.
