Wish the singer sang more clearly. I think I agree with most of what is said, but I believe that people can make themselves aliens to a place---even where they are born & raised--- by living in a way that doesn't respect that place. This can include disrespecting the culture of the people of that land which is well adjusted to that land. We've seen examples of this in places like middle North America, northern Ireland, Palestine & southern Africa.
