@ozair16 It's true that Led Zeppelin is the beginning of Heavy Metal, but it didn't exist in those times, that why it isn't heavy metal, it's considered "Early Metal", and the early metal is the way it all began, but it wasn't metal though... That's why I hate people saying LZ is metal, because they consider metal as screams and noise, and as I said, LZ is not a metal band. This is hard rock!

Funny how Judas Priest never get the credit they deserve. They were the bridge between Black Sabbath and everything done in the 80's, much more important than Iron Maiden or Mötorhead in the development of Metal music.

@DavidDavidsonful I wouldn't say Judas Priest was more important than Motorhead, Judas Priest brought the speed, Motorhead brought the punk, together speed and punk made Thrash and pretty much every other extreme Metal genre. Both are definitely more important than Iron Maiden (imo), but they're probably the same level on the importance scale. Judas Priest does deserve more credit than they get, though.

@ThazuaBlackarrow Iron Maiden became mainstream before Judas Priest with "The Number of the Beast" album in 1982. British Steel in 1980 never hit the mainstream(radio) like did Iron Maiden in 82'.. They, Maiden, were just as , if not more , significant to the rise of Heavy Metal exposure in the eighties.That goes the same with Mtorhead.
