I love Johnny Weir! I love this show! I can't believe that 24 is considered "old" in the skating world. I think he's still got many years left.

24 is "old" if you think about the Olympics, that happen just once every 4 years... I guess that skating-wise, 24 is an okay age, considering that with age comes artistic maturity. I think most skaters retire a few years later, around 27-28 (I don't have any statistics, so don't take my words for it)

@tinajoo I think it is that after that those jumps that they can barely do at 24 become almost impossible, also combined with the fact that you have spent your entire youth training for one thing and denying yourself so much. I think after 24 that would also be hard to continue to keep up.
