Once with a friend @ his job event I didn't have time to witness. When we were leaving I handed out about 80 tracts. That's a gospel presentation in their hands. Is that enough? One of my best friends got saved by God using the words of a heretical teaching preacher. Should I encourage people teach the Bible wrongly because if someone gets saved it would make it all worth it? No of course not. God can save someone any way He wants, but that doesn't mean encourage things that have no biblical backing or things that are against the Bible just because it might introduce them to Jesus. If these guys were sharing the gospel it would be awesome but hugs for Jesus is not.

Agreed tracts aren't enough. Disagree though about hugs.You should have time set apart for witnessing. But sometimes you really don't have time. Once with a friend @ his job event I didn't have time to witness. When we were leaving I handed out about 80 tracts. That's a gospel presentation in their hands. Is that enough? No, but much better than me offering hugs in the name of Christ. I don't know all of what these people did. What they showcased was them setting time apart for hugs & no Gospel.

Jesus loves each and every person, he still loves the people that don't believe in Him and he is fully prepared to enter into their hearts when they accept Christ, so why not show that a stranger that loves Christ with all their heart is willing to show that to a complete stranger? you bring up a good point...but the problem with the world today is that true love is hard to come by. most people are undeniably selfish and could care less about others. this is just showing that there are still people who are different out there, and that they have the love of Jesus Christ in them. everybody has something different that they respond to well...you never know. maybe there's one person that a hug will be the thing to introduce them to Jesus. wouldnt that make it all worth it?

One of my best friends got saved by God using the words of a heretical teaching preacher. Should I encourage people teach the Bible wrongly because if someone gets saved it would make it all worth it? No of course not. God can save someone any way He wants, but that doesn't mean encourage things that have no biblical backing or things that are against the Bible just because it might introduce them to Jesus. If these guys were sharing the gospel it would be awesome but hugs for Jesus is not.

How do you know he didn't? The Bible doesn't document every single moment in time. He healed people. If that's not a display of love then what is?

Hmm...So instead of go off what we know Jesus did and told us to do. You want us to do things that we can guess He might have possibly done. That's weak. Not only that but you're comparing something Jesus did, (healing people) with people giving hugs in the street. If they aren't giving the gospel then they aren't doing what Christ wants nor what He commanded us to do.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. The Bible has everything you need for faith in God through His Son Jesus Christ. You don't have to guess what Jesus may have done. Everything that God wanted you to know, do, and reflect of Christ is in His Bible. The Bible does not document every single moment in time, but the other parts in time don't need your imagined speculation.

when the Spirit guides you, when you obey... you grow... as believers we each have our own spiritual life to live... beginning as a baby... in Christ... so, in part, I agree with you that there are consequences for what we do.... yet, I disagree about the Bible... and it's when the Spirit teaches you what God wants you to know, it's time to obey... that's my experience... I believe it impossible for any of us to follow literally everything in the Bible at one time... we can only grow so fast...

To fill one's self with the love of Christ is not something we can do ourselves... the way it came about for me was like this: we must at some point in our individual lives recognize our pitiful ways, be brought so low in self awareness that we desperately seek to have a relationship with God through Christ.. because we finally have come to know we are really tiny creatures... Jesus teaches us to love one another... to forgive one another... to love God with all our heart... all our mind... all our soul... and all our strength... and to go forth and tell the world of His love and amazing grace for all His children! He is soooo patient with us as we "spiritually grow" in a world full of the absence of light... The Father, Son and Holy Spirit come to us... we don't have to reach "up" to find our creator! Little by little the fruits of the Spirit become part of us. Amen

um...first off, as Christians, we're not supposed to condemn others, which is what you just did. we're not perfect, so we have no right to. only God can. and actually, even saying oh my God is considered blasphemy. i know which verse you're thinking about, but i think you're misinterpreting it. he was responding to the pharisees charging him with sorcery when he said that. it means the unforgivable sin is permanently rejecting Jesus. at least, that's what i believe
