Rough estimate though, if building a proper Evo 3 to Group A specs, you'd be looking at putting anywhere from 10k-30k UKP into it. All depends on the level you go to though. Some people just throw on a 34mm restrictor and a bolt-in cage and call it 'group a'. A proper car will be stripped back to a shell, dipped, seamed/stitched and rebuilt from there up with the correct Group A parts...

@sarlaz123 As I understand it (and I'm no expert so a 10 year old PS3 player is likely to correct me here lol) the wastegate and BOV are very similar indeed but work on different sides of the Turbo. The wastegate releases excess exhaust gases and the BOV works on the 'clean' side releasing excess pressure on the induction side. Have a look around on google, chances are you'll find a far better explanation than mine :-)
Sorry but the chatter is nothing to do with your wastegate... The noise you're hearing is compressor surge as the excess pressure blows back through the turbo. That said, a cracking car all in all.

@quadGOD12953 The car ran a standard rear subframe (known weak point in early Evo's) so we were always tentative off the line. The later Group A Evo (in the 2009/10 videos) had a full diff cage and strengthened rear sub-frame, for which we could do full launchs - much quicker and more fun.
The early GEMs that most clubman Group A Evo 1/2/3s run has either launch control, or, ALS. They run off the same circuit so it's one or the other. Later (non-Group A friendly) GEMs of course do them all.

@quadGOD12953 The car ran a standard rear subframe (known weak point in early Evo's) so we were always tentative off the line. The later Group A Evo (in the 2009/10 videos) had a full diff cage and strengthened rear sub-frame, for which we could do full launchs - much quicker and more fun.
The early GEMs that most clubman Group A Evo 1/2/3s run has either launch control, or, ALS. They run off the same circuit so it's one or the other. Later (non-Group A friendly) GEMs of course do them all.

@quadGOD12953 i agree with the ricer thing, it means shit car or jap car as far as i know so if you were referring to the fact its a jap car then yeah. but as far as renault making shit cars? most of the current line up which includes 'sport' in the name are some of the best handling front drive cars out there. (and one cheeky MR clio v6)
