I heard this song when it was first presented at the First Cebu Pop Music Festival. It is as powerful then as it is now. The music and rhythm uplifts the power of the strong emotions embedded within the lyrics. It is Bisayan but unlike enough from all others to be unique. This one we should save as a cultural heritage for posterity.

for the benefit of those who simply didn't understand, for the record, i was not the interpreter of this song when it entered cebu pop music. it was stuart papa. stuart was acknowledged in the earlier comments on this video. it's down there if you check it..the vid posted here is a clip from cctn ch. 47 musical salamt sa musika. composer allan rabaya asked me to sing it for the tv special. i hoper that would set the record straight.

d song s quite dark, very rich n imageries arranged as metaphors stringed in witty coherence. but all r destroyed by the directorial treatment. y s d performance confrontational & presentational? that s not d kind of text supposedly blasted on space! Allan Jayme Rabaya has evolved very nicely through the years. I still remember when he composed the songs that we sang at the UP Cebu musical, "Up the Down Staircase" in 1974 which featured a mixed cast of high school, college, and Masters students. Allan, if you read this, I played Bea (and what the heck! I was able to sing and dance at the same time). Thank you for the memories! More power to you! Lorna

well, it may have only landed on the third place but it has become more popular than the first prize winning entry..this song was originally interpreted by stuart papas during the contest proper..i only recored it for salamat sa musika, a TV musical aired on cctn channel 47. the composer allan jayme rabaya is a good friend. I also sung his "Baraha", an entry to the 9th Cebu Pop. Unluckily it didn't win..
