  • Wow, except for the Cannonball, I've never seen a diesel bypass Bay Shore.

  • The videos you post are surprisingly identical to the video put out by "Railroad Video Productions" in 1993, copywritten by Walter M. Berko. I'm just sayin....

  • @farnsworth81 It is really? I had no idea! I found these on recorded VHS tapes and they were unmarked. I never intended to take credit for this at all anyway. I wanted to post these for enjoyment. Thanks though!

  • @DavidWright5Mets I'm just lettin you know. They have a bunch of videos like this. Got them when i was a kid.

  • @farnsworth81 Yea No Problem! Thanks for telling me again!

  • Hey man, these old videos of the previous lirr fleet are great! Do you happen to have the rest of this trip? It's neat seeing the low platforms, the now removed freight sidings, ond the other trains passing by.

  • @rpm2night Thank You! I'm glad you enjoy them! I do have the rest of the trip but I have been really busy. That's why I haven't uploaded a lot in a while. Whenever I'll get the time I will upload some more parts of this trip. Thanks Again!

  • Excellent video ..... I love the vintage LIRR action. Great horns too!!!

  • Thanks!

  • Whats a HEP unit?

  • The HEP unit was a unit that supplied the lighting and the heating or cooling in the passenger cars. They were called Power Packs. They were old engines that had their traction motors removed. Most engineers didn't like them.

  • Oh. I know those. Are you the engineer in this train?

  • No I'm not.

  • Conductor?

  • Nope. I actually found this VHS tape in my attic with some others. I'm not sure where it came from. Someone else might of filmed it.

  • Oh. Well its a good video! =)

  • Yea, it is!

  • this is a wonderful video. I live right near the central branch in south farmingd. 5*

  • Thank You! I find the Central Branch to be a very cool branch!

  • there's a train that runs eastbound out to montauk every morning. It leaves Jamaica around 1am, gets to montauk around 4am. It uses the central branch. Often I go out and watch it come through the grade crossing by my house :)

  • Cool! I like when they send trains down the Central Branch. I thing it's quicker to get to Babylon using the Main Line and the Central Branch then using the Montauk Branch.

  • It was either an FA or an MP15AC

  • I think it was a FA.

  • I wonder if this train had a Alco FA-2 HEP unit on the other end.

  • This train did have a HEP unit on the rear.

  • awesome videos

  • Thanks man!
