I think you guys miss the point. He is not trying to imitate Buddy, it is his "tribute" to Buddy.

The Buddy stick trick bit is the only technical piece which is not up to par with Buddy's. Buddy's was faster and cleaner...very consistent. This seems half Buddy's speed with that trick. Other than that..AWESOME.

Frank, only thing that's missing is the classic Buddy fantastic finish, and then he would lay the sticks on his floor tom and they would roll off onto the floor. I always loved that !!

I agree. His technique is masterful. Only one thing I'd like to see though. He's missing buddy's dynamics but it could be the way this was miked. Engineers today over compress drums and don't allow for dynamics. Would love to see him live.

This audio was recorded from the camera mic. No external mics were used. Minor E.Q. was done to enhance the sound.
