Maybe I should upload at least some gameplay of this game. After all it was *this* game is what opened up my interest and passion for Japan. Though, they should've kept Goemon and Ebisumaru's original names. The soundtrack is also very good. This and Samurai Warriors 3 are some of the best games based on Japanese history

What I love about Goemon Games is that there are always certain aspects of japanese culture, e.g. the kabuki dancer at 4:50 with sakura blossoms or the kitsune (fox) at 8:45.

These were the best boss battles EVER. Each one was unique in its own way, and the crazy mode 7 effects were always used perfectly. Not too many games nowadays can get the blood pumping like this one did in its heyday.

it's great to see a boss rush just to see all the other bosses. the airborne fight with the ninja seems pretty tough as well as the last boss's final form.

i dont think i even knew what 90% of the items did in the game, i might pick it up again just cause i saw this video.

i used to play this game every day but i only got to the boss with the big brown backpack and could never beat him as a kid. i gave up on the game and thought that was the final boss cause it was so fucking hard, and i never bothered saving passwords cause they took so damned long so i'd restart it everytime i play.

this game was the shit..it was a bitch putting in the level codes tho,especially when i was as a little kid,i fucked up every little number,letter,and symbol!the game has some historical accuracy, yo-yos were actually used as weapons before they became toys, i like how Samurai are the more tough of the bosses(at least somewhat more tough)..reminds of a question my friend always asked me,"who do you think would win out of a fight, a Samurai or a Ninja?" i like Samurai better, but thats my opinion

I know it's not important, but during the fight with the final boss, after his beast is gone, there's a cheap way to dodge his rolling. Apparently, if you snug yourself all the way to the right, he can never hit you XD

Do you happen to know if the diary codes are universal on every game cartridge? Or are they specific to each one? I once used the concentration game at the park to get Kid Ying with full straw armor there (with one measily hit taken off it), max money, max supplies, and then a newly joined Dr. Yang there with max money and max supplies from that point in the game.
